  1. Behold, Turtle Rock! I had to find it and brush the snow off. Technical difficulties...
  2. It's funny how everybody's experience with winter is so different. For me anything warmer than -10C or 14F is a beautiful day in the winter. This clip from an angry Saskatchewan-er (My neighboring Province) made me feel better about our situation in Alberta. He gets pretty irate and drops some swears so its not quite safe for work. It made me laugh anyway!
  3. I'll scoop up the 1.25km over lunch quick so if you wanted to walk this evening it could start a new cycle. I'm also planning on heading to yoga today, I got my bagged packed and everything.
  4. Great job, I got 2.25 last night. Yes we did get our first target. We had about 7.5Km in total for that cycle. I still have a picture of turtle rock we can post after this one.
  5. Oh no! Sorry to hear about the loss of a pet that's got to be tough to explain to the lil' one. I'll get in my 2km walk today but I could do more if that leaves us with an awkward number. Let me know what you plan on getting in, talk to you later!
  6. I needed to finish up homework yesterday so I didn't end up making it to Yoga. I actually wasn't 100% yesterday so didn't walk either, sorry! And... We ordered Pizza for the first time in a few months, the shame! The good part of it though was that where we would have ordered two larges and then eaten it for a couple days (so about 10 slices each). This time we just had three pieces and that'll be it. Today I'm working on chest and shoulders in the gym so just bench press, chest fly's, overhead press and upright rows.
  7. Ok, I just got in my 2k so our target has been hit, 'm excited to see your pic!
  8. Good, we did something called single arm overhead press and squat... Otherwise known as land mines, they were tricky. My 5 working sets for the back squat was a PR 5 x 10 for 185bs. I was pretty happy with that. Time to get these tired legs out the door for a bit though, since you were a pro star with your mileage!
  9. Good job LadyShello! I was just thinking about skipping a walk today but thought I'd check first to see if you ended up hitting the pavement. Now that I see you've done it I'll have to go and get that done before playing some dragon age.
  10. Things you should know about my challenge partner LadyShello: 1) She is a bad-ass! -I know this because she has had amazing progress moving towards her Master Quest as well as being able to crush her week 1 goals while dealing with other challenges 2) She is smart! -Her goals make a lot of sense and she has the right mindset to keep on progressing. 3) She is Friendly! -LadyShello was my first commentary on my thread and she has been very supportive and welcoming. She invited me to partner right away, otherwise I would have slunk into the background and waited for week 1 to pass. 4) Creative and Fun! -Don't believe me? Check out her thread I sort of ninja vanished for the first week so I could have been a better accountabilibuddy.
  11. Late post, yikes! Sorry team, I wasn't very active last week on NF. Brave: Urgh, it's definitely not as impressive as most of you fine folks. I avoid confrontation to my detriment and finally willed myself to return a bowflex I bought from Costco a while ago. I hated how it functioned but didn't want to return it because of pride/embarrassment but I finally did it so I could use those funds to propel my fitness goals. Caught up in the merriment and entranced by the stories of bravery being told at the Marrymore Inn, LazyDragonAR partook of more mead and ale than he could handle. Waking up under a bench in the street, curious as to how he got there, LazyDragonAR was eager to take the ferry home. A large group of adventurers was loading up onto the boat and someone, "annoyingly" thought LazyDragonAR in his hungover state, was making some sort of scene and jamming up the works. There was something peculiar about this all but through heavily lidded eyes and the bright sun LazyDragonAR couldn't be bothered. Ignoring what the other passengers were trying to say he settled down like a rock and immediately slipped back into a peaceful (Except to those around him) slumber. Once more, with a blinding headache, LazyDragonAR blinked his eyes open and struggled to his feet. More seaweed than man and shivering like possessed by an unruly spirit he lumbered towards the first shape he could make out.
  12. Whew I'm tired today! I should have tried to get more sleep in but I needed to see what Dragon Age Inquisition looked like. I'm pretty excited about it, I got in an hour before work this morning too. I did yoga after work yesterday which went great and today I have a leg day, dead lifts are hard! Thanks to the Ranger challenge I ended up going for a quick 2km walk after dinner. I'll need to bring an actual camera I think, my iphone can't handle the darkness. I was able to brush off "Turtle Rock" though and snap a picture.
  13. Sounds good to me except my pictures might suck a bit. I couldn't capture anything nice until the weekend probably. Should we maybe have a bigger target and less pics? Maybe 8k target?
  14. What kind of distance do you think we can pull off? I'm trying to think of picturesque things in my neck of the woods and not a ton comes to mind. I could do 2km (1.25 Miles) a day fairly easily. I'll be walking, there is not enough snow to go cross country skiing yet or I could rack up a bunch.
  15. I think I get it, can you confirm? So if LadyShello and I say 5km target distance and I do 3km and my bad-ass partner does 5km (for a total of 8km) we have the right to post 1 picture cumulatively. The remaining 3km is then forfeit and counts as zero. The next day, inspired by LadyShello, I do 5km and she does 5km (total 10km) we then still only have the right to post 1 picture because our target was 5km. The remaining 5km is forfeit and counts as zero. Finally, I'm lazy and do 0.4 km and LadyShello does 4km (Total 4.4km) we get to post zero pictures because we fell short. The remaining 4.4km stays until we hit 5km. The only thing I'm not clear on is the points? How do those work?
  16. Bad LazyDragonAR! I didn't go on much last week. I had the week off work and after spending two of those days working on a case study for my course I was computer-ed out. I did stay on track with my workout and diet regime however so that's a plus. Things I need to do this week: -Take measurements (ASAP) -Figure out how many more training sessions I want/can afford -Create my three weight lifting workouts in Fitocracy so that I track them better -Populate my Spreadsheet o' tracking -Cook a big meal for lunches.
  17. Whew, thanks for keeping me accountable! I didn't actually go though... I can't remember why. However we did go a couple times last week to meet our goal. I think we may up it to try for three times a week but that's TBD. I've got all my stuff packed for Yoga today after work so I'll go today for sure and plan for Wednesday and Saturday. Wednesday will depend on how much homework I end up having. I'll need to look at that tonight.
  18. Wow, great job Shello! It really shows how dedicated you are to meet your goals even with all the extra stress and obstacles! Sorry I was AWOL most of last week, I had the week off work and didn't make it onto the computer much. I was a bad accountabilibuddy! Great job on the cooking, are you saving the recipes you like and making notes on the changes you had/wanted to make to it?
  19. Hey there lil' Nik! Good job joining up! I like your goals... I guess when I go to Costco later I shouldn't buy more Coke then?
  20. It's more about the cold than the snow or I'd be with you. It's generally colder than -15 Celsius(-17 this morning, brr..) or 5 Fahrenheit in Edmonton so it messes with cooking times a ton. I actually broke my living room window BBQ'ing at -10 Celsius one year because of the Heat stress/ change... that was an expensive steak.
  21. It's go time! Day 1: I realized this morning that I'm a little behind where I should be to commence the challenge. I'm out of groceries and almost all my gym clothes need to be washed. It also feels like I'm just intending to go to Yoga tonight and that it's not stamped in stone. I also should have done more work on my case study for school this weekend but that's OK. This shows me that I'll need to create a schedule to follow as my first task of the challenge. Oh yeah... I also forgot to gather my starting info, pics, measurements and weight. I'll have to put that together tonight. Oops, not strong out of the gate but that's fine!
  22. Nicely done, way to prepare ahead of time for your food challenge! Honey Orange chicken sounds delicious. We had a dump of snow over the weekend so its the end of me being able to BBQ each meal. My stovetop cooking is a bit weak, I should really try to learn some more meals as well, otherwise it will just be a lot of stir fry.
  23. I think that sounds excellent, well done!
  24. I like it, nice Dr. Who lore knowledge! I had to Google Gallifrey, the shame!
