  5. Thanks for the laugh! I needed that today. I bought the shred video years ago and never got past level one. I'm not even sure I was able to finish level one. Maybe I'll use that for me next challenge.

  7. http://www.doyogawithme.com/ I love this website and I should start incorporating yoga into my workouts. When most people are stressed they get tight shoulders. I'm strange and get really tight hamstrings. I bet yoga would help with that a lot. I think I'm going to try the "Love Yourself" this weekend.

  9. I love your intro story and I'm looking forward to the next installment!
  10. I'm so impressed that you're finding so many different ways to sneak kale into every meal!
  11. Since I'm a student and in the hospital all day I really don't have a space where I can keep a water bottle. My only option right now is before I start in the morning, at lunch if I get one, and when I get home at night.

  13. Have you seen "Fresh" or "Food Inc" I heard about Fed Up, but haven't seen it yet.
  14. Soda is my biggest challenge. I didn't even bother to list it as a quest at this point because it would just end in failure. Maybe when I'm healthier in other areas it'll be easier to cut out.
  15. Day 1 was a success! Quest 1: Do some form of exercise EVERY day. (7 MWC app at the very least) Measurement: A = 40/42 days, B = 35/42 days C = 30/42 days (1/42) 20 minute walk with the dog plus a mile on the treadmill. Quest 2: Drink at least one full water bottle a day. Measurement: A = 40/42 days, B = 35/42 days, C = 30/42 days (1/42) Didn't do any extra, but at least I finished it! 16. I think the intensity depends on how fast you go. It's 30 seconds of an exercise (jumping jacks, push ups, squats, etc) followed by 10 seconds of rest (basically just enough time to transition to the next exercise).
  17. My water bottle is only 750ml and I know I should be drinking 2-3 of those a day, but since I've recently had trouble finishing one a day I didn't want to set my goals too high.
  18. I also have the C25k and zombies run, but I found that I'm really bad at doing training plans on my own. I joined a local training group with three of my classmates, so hopefully that will keep me motivated. The four of us are beginners and will train together and there are seven of us doing the race together. It doesn't start until October 6th though, so I have two weeks of just making sure I get some sort of workout in on my own. My current clinical rotation is 7am-5:30pm with an hour commute each way, plus study time at night, so I have very little free time. Luckily my schedule will lighten up after this week. 7MWC is a 7 minute workout circuit using high intensity interval training. I really like the app and I can always make time for 7 minutes. Ideally I'd be doing 4 of the 7 minute circuits at once, but something is better than nothing. I love that everyone on this site is so welcoming and helpful!
  19. I'm in a physician assistant program. Only 11 months to go before I'm done!
  20. I'm in grad school also! What are you studying?
  21. Love that you have your week planned out! I really need to start doing this.
  22. I love chickpeas! They're a great protein source. My favorite recipe is Chickpea Pot Pie. I usually only put the crust on top to save on calories and use a homemade cream of mushroom soup to reduce the sodium. Very fast, easy, and makes great leftovers.
  23. I love that your doctor caught you at the pre-diabetic stage. It's still early enough that you can prevent becoming diabetic (and having to take those pills)!
  24. I just joined. Can't wait to get started!
