  5. I fell off the wagon. Badly. Back in 2014, I was doing so well, yet I fell off the wagon, and here I am again, unhealthy. Yet not hopeless. Life kinda got in the way, started a new job (that ironically suits me better to get to the gym...), and some other stuff. Guess we've all heard it all before. But, as I grow older, my body grows older, and most importantly: even my wisdom grows older! (+1 to WIS, level 4 spells now available) I realized quite some things: I am doing well professionally, and that is great. Yet I noticed I am feeling worse than before. My sleeping has deteriorated.I am getting less social, and lazier.I have gained weight, clothes don't fit/look as well anymore (well duh).I didn't feel as happy and energetic anymore.Thing is, I realized to live a happy life, I NEED/HAVE/MUST BE healthy. And ultimately, me buying a nice house, a new car, things in general will not make me happy. Or not as happy as I can be. Therefore, as an old(27 year old is fucking old) wise man, I know what to do. I need to become healthy again. I'm not feeling "all fired up, wanting to jump back into the game" right now. I know that'll only burn me out anyway. I'm just gonna make adjustments in my life to make me feel better. DIE KAMPFPLAN I have a job that has an irregular schedule. Sleep is very important. I'm gonna go for 8h of sleep, every time. Even if that means going to bed at 17h. Fitness: I've installed the Stronglifts 5x5 app, and started LOW on the weights. And slowly work my way up, as the program itself was intended to do. Not gonna burn myself out again like on a previous respawn. Food: As much paleo as possible. Yet I will include diary and legumes, my body has no problem tolerating them. More importantly, each time before I go shopping I'm gonna look up a new recipe. (And then get the ingredients obviously). Tracking my progress: Pictures front and side every 2 weeks, weighing myself every week, and measuring my belly every week. And put it in a nice excel graph cause that's how I roll. Other stuff: There's a 24h gym near my work, gotta check it out if it has a squat rack. All suggestions welcome, of course!
  6. It's my resting day, but I feel the urge to work out/do something. Any advice? (I do dislike running)

Just Dance, walk with a friend, drop in class, etc?

  7. Thanks for the responses, but what other muscles do they activate? Pull ups activate the back as well, right?
  8. As the title states, is the chin-up best performed on a bar so your palms face yourself, or with 2 parallel bars so your palms face eachother? What are the benefits of both? The downsides?
  9. They day diet is 80% responsible for weight loss, but I believe it's also responsible for my succes in pull-ups and chin ups :D

  10. I just sent out a mass text to all my close friends how much I appreciate them! Makes the monday a whole lot better!

  11. I need to get back on track with healthy eating and working out. Not because I have to. Not because I will be more attractive. But because I am a person who is worht it, and my body deserves to be respected.

Being a manchild with children is awesome, just the other day when my boy was in the bathroom I broke out into Willie Nelson's "On the commode again" for him...I can't wait until I have teenagers :-D

  13. So, if a person asks you to wake them up, you do that three times, but each time they fall back asleep, is it your fault when she's too late? AKA should I simply use a bucket of icy water next time?

  15. Not yet. I do have some other options open at the moment, and I'm gonna talk to a recruiter/headhunter in a few hours. But I'm afraid I'll get bored at any job I do. But hey, at least I have those initial months where I can perform and be satisfied again. For more long term plans: Maybe military, maybe train driver.
  16. Is it me, or aren't there any forum sections to discuss Steve's articles?

every cloud has a silver lining ... ok so I couldnt talk or laugh without crying out in pain ... and crying out in pain .. made me cry out in pain (10 Cry; 20 goto 10) ... but ... I now have a demon poker face and can remain expressionless under most circumstances

  17. Why can't I be invited for job interviews when I'm not working, like weekends or evenings? :(

  18. That's some useful advice, gonna keep that in mind, thanks!
  19. So, I did the running test on a treadmill today, my first time running in x months. I got to 12,9km/h, which scores 15/20. Not too shabby, but of course I need to get up to 14,4 to get 20. Tomorrow I'll test how well I perform on the sit-ups and push ups. But I doubt I'll underperform by very much there.
  20. Can't wait for tonight. Normally I'd be playing video games, but now I'll be working on my stamina, and looking for jobs. I am becoming an adult. At last :D

  21. I think I kinda identified the problem. Its during the bench press, if I let my elbows flare. I benched with a "closer" grip, and it went relatively well. Put my hands wider and pain was back. But I feel the closer grip is way too close, doing most on triceps. And I have major problems keeping myself tight in the bench press, likely the cause of the problems in the first place. When I set up, I arch my back, get my shoulders together etc, then I lower the bar, still no problem. But then when I push the bar back up, I seem to push my shoulders back into resting position. (does this explanation make sense?), like I can't hold the position with my shoulders with my arms stretched above me. Any fixes to this?
  22. 80's music after lifting. I should make this a habit. WE DIDN'T START THE FIRE
