  1. I know where you're coming from Lupus. I've had my fair share of self-pity and wallowing in the past and again here lately. It has always come to a point where I realize that shit gonna get real bad if I don't do something. At that point I manage to find something to fixate on, some goal or brass ring to reach for to get my head out of my arse and make it through. Once it was Magic: The Gathering, the next time it was fitness, and this time it is actually trying to be social and make friends here in the NF community. The journey isn't easy but each time I've come out better and stronger as a person. You got this man! The rebellion is behind you all the way!
  2. Welcome! Looks like you're off to a great start. Best of luck with your quest!
  3. Thank you! I have one week under my belt already. Not gonna lie, it's brutal! The pump you feel post-workout though is super amazing.

  5. After reading through the rules, within two weeks is the acceptable time-frame. Got mine in here http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/54711-joshhafer360-better-late-than-never/
  6. Alright, so I'm getting a late start at this so I'll make it short and sweet... Main Quest Gain 5-10 lbs of muscle and drop my body fat percentage by about 3-5% before the end of the year. Missions Complete a variation of the Arnold Blueprint workout 4 times per week. Consume 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight every day. Eliminate liquid calories other than morning coffee and protein shake.Life Quest Make at least 2-3 new friends in the NF community. Motivation I saw huge gains over the course of 2013 (about 30 lbs over 7 months), but have failed to accomplish much of any since. My goal is to reach 200 lbs with around 10-15% body fat. I'm currently at around 190 lbs and 23%. My motivation comes from the desire to look good naked (shallow I know, but helps with the self-esteem) and to feel awesome and energized again. I also want to rid myself of the feeling that I'm a total outcast from society by making some new friends.
  7. Thank you and hello! Haha. I was wondering whether I could still sign up. I actually started a new routine about the time the challenge started so I suppose I've been in it without realizing
  8. Hello everyone! I'm a 24 year old father of one living in a small West Virginia town. I've always had difficulty making new friends because of how backward I am; I always think to myself that people will find me uninteresting or awkward which has turned me off from the idea of even trying. I work in an office with about twelve other people, all of which are no less than ten years my elder. My wife on the other hand works in a public position where she meets all kinds of people everyday and has several friends she communicates with from work when not on the clock. Lately I've been feeling rather lonely as she spends most of her day anymore texting or talking on Facebook to those friends, much more than with me. I'm not sure if its jealousy or simply that I don't have that many other people in my life to talk to like that, but I feel like a bad for feeling like this. I don't want to sit around feeling sorry for myself though and I certainly don't want to make my wife feel bad. With all that said, I really want to put forth the effort to make new friends. Whether it be for motivational purposes or to talk about all things nerdy and awesome, all is fine with me. The only thing I can find motivation or interest in lately is my fitness. I've also gotten back into trying new recipes (tried a new version of scrambled eggs the other day, AMAZING THEY WERE). When I'm not too busy I love me a good anime, whoopin' butt in a shooter, reading, and playing MTG when given the opportunity. Whatever form of communication desired is fine by me. PM, Facebook, Google+, and text are what I currently have available.
  9. Hello fellow nerds! It's been almost two years since I discovered this treasure trove of awesomeness. So, I figured it was time to overcome my social anxiety and partake in the community. I grew up being a very shy person. Though college helped me quite a bit, I still feel awkward talking to and meeting new people. However, after witnessing the comradery and inspiration found here I feel comfortable enough to come out of my shell. My fitness journey began in middle school when I became interested in lifting weights. I really had no clue what I was doing until I attended college and even then I had only a fraction of the knowledge I have now. I'm one of the fairly tall, skinny, hard to gain weight types. Through high school and college I stayed around 160 lbs at 5' 10". Only in the last two years have I been able to put any muscle weight on. I now sit at around 190 lbs. Woot! Some of my interests include the following: AnimeMagic: The GatheringVideo Games (mainly FPS)Programming (Web, Mobile)Spending WAY too much time reading web articlesDa Pump I hope to meet plenty of new friends here and look forward the journeys ahead.
