    Hello hello, friends new and old! Some of you may recognize me... My old username was based off of an old persona/character I came up with a long time ago. I have long outgrown it. So, now I am Dusk. Dusk is my favorite time of day, and I could probably come up with a whole bunch of ways that making it my username has some Deeper Meaningโ„ข๏ธ, but at the end of the day, it's cool and I like it. So there. I have been a member of the NF Rebellion for a long time (six years on Sept 24!!...) but I haven't been very involved for quite some time. Grappling with graduate school, mental health, getting married, etc. proved too much for me to handle, on top of maintaining an online presence. But what I discovered was that I did still have an online presence, it was just in other places. And recently I realized that those places - especially with the state the world is in right now - were sapping me utterly, presenting me rapid-fire with so many stressful topics and no chance to recover or process any of it. So, I deleted a great deal of my accounts, edited the ones I kept into a form I could handle, and... found myself immediately in the "check the same apps over and over" loop. What better to fill that time with than my Ranger family? Perhaps I can become engaged in this community as I once was. I miss you all. As for the challenge, well. As I mentioned, I'm married - a little over a year now! And Mr. Spouse Man has to wake up at 4am for a shift at 5, more days than not. Which means... yours truly also wakes up at the asscrack of dawn. I discovered that I'm much less productive if I try and sleep more after he leaves, because once I do finally wake up to go about my own day, I'm groggy and sluggish and it takes me forever to get going. Whereas if I just get up when he does, I have plenty of time to ease into wakefulness, drink my coffee, and ultimately start my day earlier than I would ever do on my own. SO: my plan for the challenge is to go for a walk around 5am, on the mornings that Mr. Spouse Man has to leave early for work. There's a nice little route I take through campus that's right around 1.5 miles. Plus, when I go out that early, the temperature is tolerable (even if the humidity is still a nuisance)! Eventually I will see about either a) lengthening the route or b) easing into running instead of walking, but for starters, I just want to get in the habit of moving my body. Plus, walking is just pleasant. I'll post the walking schedule for each week once I know it, and update y'all as to whether I complete the walks or not! A side goal (that isn't a challenge goal but I'll likely talk about it anyway) is to track my foods, which I've been doing consistently for about a week now! I need to lose some serious fluff, hahah. ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ’œ ~ dusk

  7. Heyyy that all sounds awesome! I too am returning to NF after a hiatus, but Iโ€™m waiting till the new boards go up to post anything ๐Ÿ˜… Iโ€™m still trying to decide exactly what I want to do.

  10. Dusk slipped quietly into the Guildhall, wrapped in a cozy blanket in lieu of a traveler's cloak. She smiled at all the Rangers gathered here, new and old; it had been a long time since she had been here. Familiar faces turned to her in curiosity, finding her familiar as well... Armed with her blanket, a rather large mug of coffee, a new name and a fresh start, she settled herself into a cocoon by the crackling fire. Time to wait for the next challenge to begin so she could quest alongside her beloved Rangers once again. ๐Ÿ’œ
  11. Bruhhh twilight zone is the perfect descriptor. xD I'm trying to give myself grace, and work on getting caught up on things one at a time. One of my mentors sent me this article last week, and I figured even though it's specifically oriented toward academics, it may help anyone, since we are all suddenly working from home. Ummm, my challenge hasn't really been happening, y'all. Which is okay. I have a lot on my plate right now. Things will make sense again eventually, once I'm able to comprehend the passage of time again. xD I have been playing a lot of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which is an app, since we don't have the new switch game yet. It's really cute :3

  13. Uhhhh not great haha. It has been really really hard for me to cope with so many sudden changes... School and work are online now; despite everything going on, my responsibilities don't seem to have changed much (and in some ways it feels like I have more responsibilities than before); I'm home alone most of the day while Mr. spouse man is at work; I have had 2 (two) in-person interactions with people (besides mr.) in the past 3.5 weeks... I think slowly the school and work related things are getting sorted out, but y i k e s. I've gone on some walks, and trying to be more mindful about sugar intake, but. Hm. Yeah. I am getting overwhelmed a lot these days. Which isn't really surprising.
  14. Getting hit with the Big Emotions and Scary Urges out of nowhere like that is really frightening. I'm glad you made it through! ๐Ÿ’• Sometimes I don't even realize what I'm feeling, and I'll think it's something else entirely; when in reality there's some deep subconscious thing that's causing my reaction to be much different than what I think it "should" be with my conscious knowledge. So, when you start to feel physically bad or anxious or whatever for some unknown reason, still write it all down and write down any other thoughts that come to mind. Maybe you will happen upon one of those subconscious things, and then you will at least know where your feelings come from and can start to try and manage them. (Does that make sense? I feel like there are a lot of confusing run-on sentences there ;-; I hope it makes sense haha)

Heckin' yeah!! ------------------------- Week zero, Monday: was super productive this morning/afternoon, but not so much the evening, so I decided to do a workout to at least squeeze something productive into the evening. roll d10: rolled a seven: silent darebee. there's nine of the silent darebee workouts to choose from, so I rolled the d10 again to pick which one i'd do: got a three: so I did this one, only one set. I'm dying y'all ow ow ow jeez I could barely manage ten knee pushups ;-; gives me something to build up to though lol
