  1. I did end up going. I wore my NP shirt too, realizing that we never coordinated how to actually meet. I had a suspicion that you weren't there because at hills it's hard to miss people since you're always criss-crossing. Hope personal stuff is resolving okay... It did look awesome. Decks are least likely for me to get to them, unfortunately. Stoopid Monday rest day. I did not know about Mayfar. The gf and I had our run go through Harvard. Big mistake. Then we bumped into the Walk for Hunger along the Charles. People everywherrre. We were fortunate to have used sunscreen before going out because we also putzed about town and checked out the RunBase. And by "we were fortunate" I mean "she made me and yes I admit I'm glad she did".
  2. Now for Wednesday in my batch update: I did stairs again! 23 sections in 26:18. For the record that is 2 sections more at a slightly faster pace. BOOM! hit the 21 section mark at 23:48, nearly a minute faster than last week's 24:38. I definitely had to stop myself from going farther. Had to leave some in the tank for Deadlift Thursday.
  3. Thanks! Gotta build that mental and physical strength. SHAKALAKA Be prepared for me to come to you for my birthday NP verbal harvest when it is time. And when I know my work schedule will have me able to go. So many stairs. And for lifting I am getting back into it. I killed it (for me) at 4T last January with 315/205/355 squat/bench/deadlift so that is why I need to keep humble about my numbers right now. Yeahh! I was puuuumped
  4. Monday was rest day. Tuesday was this Then this So it was 3+ day and I got 10 reps of each, that's pretty awesome even if I know I started light. Bench has been weird because my arms were shaking at like rep 3 but I powered through 7 more. And I realized that 10 squats at 165 is just shy of a half-widowmaker (my bodyweight is 170-172 right now). Not bad. Gotta remember I weight 10-15 pounds less than when I was last lifting. And that today was barbell workout #4 since getting back into it. Revision: I thought widowmaker was 20 rep squat at bodyweight. Apparently that's just not a undiversal definition. Whatever I'll keep it. The run was supposed to be an easy 3 miles but I was running short on time before work so it became a fast 2 miles. Dat second (downhill) mile. Still I am very happy with that pace, especially after half-widowmaker and OH walking lunges.
  5. Actual recap: the week was a good week. Slightly more mileage than the previous one. My knees were feeling tight (but not painful) during the long run Sunday. It was a run/walk which was good. After the gf and I decided to stop for good we walked over the the new Boston Marathon RunBase (http://www.bostonrunbase.com/) to check it out. There is a free locker room and showers for runners as well as bunches of Boston Marathon memorabilia. Tight knees scare me. I shall be smart about it.
  6. Congrats on work stuff! I too moved on up while I just, ya know, did my job. Heck the job wasn't that difficult so why not actually try to do well at it? Apparently that's not as common as I think it is?
  7. Hey, despite work suckage I'm glad birthday was awesome and that you've been killin' it with your workouts! Hopefully the good-looking prospects pan out.
  8. There is almost always a jogging stroller at the November Project hills workouts. It's crazy. But then there is often a baby backpack at the stadium because those people are crazy (awesome). The one time I threw some bricks in a bag and did the stadium I was dying.
  9. 1. The smell has almost dissipated. Or I'm just used to it now. 2. Agreed. On both counts.
  10. Naw, that's a screenshot from MapMyRun
  11. I had a rolling pin but I don't bake. It has become a myofascial release pin. I don't bake and gf would never use it for food prep since she knows its true purpose. Those are good, legally fanciful questions. I just show up, answer questions, share pictures, and disappear over the horizon. Awwwwyeah PR! ...and I want a cheesesteak and beignet now. THANKS CM
  12. NP Hills! They were much fun. The hill consists of "front side" which is longer and "back side" which is shorter. I started going down the back and did a total of 2.5 full hills, 3 back and 2 front. I did not walk at all, which I have never done at the hills before. BOOM. It's almost like regular activity is getting me in better shape or something. Let's ignore that at points I could have walked faster up the hill because THAT WASN'T THE POINT. I forgot watch to time the workout, it was probably like 40-45 minutes. Apparently about 3.25 miles. Here is the elevation profile.
  13. Lifts felt good. I had more than 8 in the tank on deadlifts. A note on OHP - for the "+" set I do that amount completely strict from a dead stop then then the extras I use the stretch reflex out of the bottom. Still no leg drive though.
  14. Also for those unfamiliar with CSC, I think this whiteboard from their old location shows that they fit well with Nerd Fitness.
  15. Thought you were doing DL today instead of squats? Stairs are why I do squats Tuesday and DL Thursday.
  16. Glad you had fun, though We Missed You. Friday is a maybe for me. #notaverbal
  17. The stick is wonderful. They had all sorts of variants at the Marathon Expo. My version of The Stick? A rolling pin. Already had one so $0 investment. Want to know how they did that at the first iteration of CSC (in Micah's basement)? Press pit. Problem solved. Fairly certain this is still their "waiver" MO...I really hope it doesn't come back to bite them.
  18. I forgot yesterday I also did my PT exercises - Jane Fondas, clam shells, and glute bridges.
  19. So I went up some stairs then down some stairs yesterday. Thought I was going to feel a bit flat after the squats + lunges + running on Tuesday but I kinda crushed it. I am just adding two sections per week so I did 21. Did it in 24:38. For those with no sense of reference (almost everyone save for RP, Cheechoe, Ska, raptron, Ruckus) that is very good for me. PR sorta good. I have often been around the average pace of 75-90 seconds per section (usually more towards 90) and that is 70 seconds. I easily could have kept trucking but that was NOT THE PLAN. Which I am happy to have done today as I face a lifting workout with deadlifts. Also yesterday morning someone set a new stadium record for a full tour - 17:57. For perspective there are 37 sections around the stadium, each consisting of 31 steps that are each about 18" high. After running a trail 50k over the weekend. Oi. People be fast.
  20. haha it may not be the best when done to failure...or for the clumsy-handed. You have no power of voting in my stead, ladyface. See that's what I was thinking. Glad at least you're on my side. Shocking, eh? I REFUSE TO LEARN FROM THE LIKES OF YOU awwww yeahhhh
  21. No cookie or mini Reeese's. I shall hide them.
  22. I did this then this Now time for work. Also food.
