  1. Last night I got a text from my gym buddies telling me they weren't going to be able to make it today, but that's alright though. I got to use my workout time this morning to get a run in!
  2. Hello there, This is my absolute first forum post ever. Not just for this site but in general lol!. If I'm doing it wrong, please forgive me and let me know how it is that I am supposed to do this so I can start things off the right way. So with this being my first time here I'm just going to start off with my quest goals and other "intro" stuff. My main goal (or atleast what I consider being my main goal that will get me to being Level 2), is to form the habbit of working out on a regular basis. I want to go to the gym or workout at home with a good body weight routine at least 4 times per week, and I want to run atleast 3 times per week. My mini goals will be the following: 1. To be able to do atleast 3 consecutive and legitimate pull-ups. 2. To be able to run a 10K (regardless of how long it takes me) 3. To not make up excuses for not working out. My LifeQuest is going to be to learn a bit more about how this forum stuff works lol. A little bit of background for myself: I remember wanting to get into working out so I did what most people probably do, went to good old Google. I start looking up different routines and exercises and I wanted to throw something together that I felt was going to be fun enough to stick with. I hate the regular gym routine of of "Ok, you see that weight. I want you to pick it up. Alright now put it down. Good, now just do that 9 more times." I tried to get into some other programs. I did Insanity with some people from work (sort of). We only did it on days where we were at work and we only did it after work. So if it wasnt done then, then it wasnt done. This meant no weekends, and if there was something going on after work then I wasnt going to do that part. I also tried to do P90X at one point but that didn't go over so well either. Whenever I missed a day I was always confused, did I just skip the day that I missed and get back on the schedule, did I make up that day and skip an off day? I had no idea and I hated it. So some how I stumbled across some stuff on Nerd Fitness and I thought it was the most awesome thing I had ever seen. The information that was given was great and for someone like me (gamer nerd/geek type person), it made so much more sense to me than anything else I had ever come across. I quickly signed up for the email list and every time one came in I would read it right away. They are always inspirational and get me incredibly motivated to get up and get out there and work on myself. So, even though I have been following the emails and aimlessly meandering around the gym for a little while now, I have decided that it is time. Time to get up and really work for it and to not let myself back down. I have a group of guys that I work out with and I told them about Nerd Fitness (I actually tell everyone about it lol). When I started telling them about the site and some of the different workouts that have been posted (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Legend of Zelda, etc.) They said "Cool, that sounds great. Come up with something and you can lead the work out." So I spent about and hour or so coming up with a plan that was actually a modified version of the Lord of the Rings workout. The best part about this was putting it together made me very excited to do it. As I listed different exercises and different reps, I started getting really into it. By the time I was done I couldn't wait to do the actual workout. This morning we got together and I went over the routine and it was awesome. We were completely exhauseted when we were done and couldnt believe what we had just accomplished, mainly because it was very different from what our normal routine was. We had a great time doing it and now I can't wait to have even more fun putting together some more custom routines, at the same time working on leveling up my life! So, I guess we can open this up for anyone and everyone who is brand new to this like I am. Come in here. Tell us who you are, give us your goals, ask questions. I know I am a complete newbie, but I love to dive into things head first. I want everyone to be able to use this as a stepping stone into the Nerd Fitness community. (I know I am!)
