  1. Sorry for the disappearance. I got a wicked case of bronchitis that took me out of the game for a week. I am back in the land of the living today, but have not been exercising or paying much attention to anything with my diet this past week. I am going to ease back in. Hopefully I can rally to make at least partial goals by the end of the challenge. I will post again with updates in the next few days.
  2. I take Vit D all year round, because I am not good at getting my sunlight in...and still have little whispers in my head to stay out of the sun from my younger days. I take 2000 IU every day I remember to...which is probably 2 or 3 times per week.
  3. Grade for last week: D. I only ran once. I only did bodyweight stuff once. Too much wine. I did shovel out the garden boxes in the backyard though, and it took about three hours of heavy lifting, so I guess that counts as something. I just need to motivate myself, which is not happening right now for some reason. This week: stick to better eating plan; pull ups - seriously, do something there; run one mile no stopping.
  4. Ooooh - I am LOVING the graphs. I need to nerd my stats up!
  5. Thanks, all. I feel much better. I did not work out yesterday at all. It was just awful outside and I got sidetracked with having to go to the store and take little man to dance class etc etc. Excuses, I know. It seems every time I start working out my diet goes haywire, so I work on dialing the diet back in and exercise goes out the window. Fear of success, maybe. Today is my wedding anniversary so I am not going to think too hard about anything tonight - just go out with the hubby and relax. And tomorrow is a new day.
  6. It is a hard habit to break - but you will be thanking yourself in a few weeks. I FINALLY got past the weigh myself every day habit. My weight can fluctuate 5 pounds, so some days I would feel really down on myself for no reason, or congratulate myself also for no reason! Now I try to keep it to once a week, if that. Good luck!
  7. First off - great job on sticking with it this long! I agree that you should use a 'wait and see' approach. If you REALLY want something, have it and enjoy it on your two day break. If you don't want it then, just keep on keepin' on. I am about to try a similar thing with wine (my vice). I tend to have a glass and a glass turns to two...and then I have drunk 250 calories. Not cool. Soooo - I am drinking sparkling mineral water with lime. Have you tried replacing the candy with another (healthy) treat?
  8. Thanks, JenS. I am also having trouble with negatives. I have my work cut out for me! I have already typed all this once and the dumb computer erased it when I hit reply. So here is the gist: Today sucked cause I was sick. No workout and the only things I wanted to eat were crap. So goals for tomorrow - work out and eat clean. Work out would ideally involve a run and body weight exercises, but weather here is supposed to be icky and I don't have good icky weather running clothes yet. So at least part of a workout and eating clean.
  9. I like it! Where do you install it - a doorway?
  10. Not yet - every idea I came up with seemed a little unsafe (like a handrail stretched over the backs of two chairs. Guess what that does? Pulls the chairs down on top of you.) Although, I just thought - I could turn the chairs the other direction. I am thinking of just starting assisted pullups standing on a chair, but using my legs as little as possible. Do you have any other thoughts or suggestions? This is as good a time as any to update my week: Workout 4 times? Check. Did weights one day, bodyweight 2 days, running three days. Build toward running 30 mins? Not as much as I would like - goal by the end of this week is to run a full mile no stopping...in 10 mins. Pullups? Did nothing at all. Spend time with son? YES - did well on this. Played cards one day, played soccer one day, parent chaperone to the pumpkin patch for school one day (that counts!), watched a movie with him one day...and cleaned up puke from his bed Friday night when he got sick. Poor fella was a trooper. Then I had to spoil him all day Saturday. He got to lounge on the couch like a king and watch Ren & Stimpy. Overall grades: B- for diet and fitness (because my diet was not what it should have been), B+ for life goal of QT with my boy.
  11. Fellow bottom-strong lady here, working toward a pull-up. Those are no freakin joke. We will get there though! Awesome job so far, keep it up!
  12. I find weekends are harder to stick with following a healthy diet - at least for me. There seems to be temptation at every curve. Just keep plugging and you will get there!
  13. I am seriously considering this now...
  14. Good point. Ah, holiday fun with the family, when everyone airs their grievances. I still think we will probably end up having everyone over, since this is the only place for everyone to get together (most are from out of town, and the others don't have the room) and I always feel like we are obligated. But I will ask them to leave when it gets to be too much.
