theroberthogan's Put Up or Shut Up Six Week Challenge

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. Between work, a lingering illness, and the holiday things have gone to shite on my challenges. On the plus side, my girlfriend, her brother and several other people over the last week have commented on my weight loss. Major ego boost to see through to the end of the challenge. There have been many stumbles over the last few weeks, and I have really embraced the lessons learned from failure. Going into the last week, I'm stoked about the amazing community here. Can't wait for the next challenge. See you guys at the finish... A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams. ~John Barrymore -

theroberthogan's Put Up or Shut Up Six Week Challenge

Hey guys, sorry about the lack of updates and checking in on everyone's progress. We have had a major push at work, and I've had a more difficult time than usual in finding personal time to get stuff done. SNAFU However, my limited personal time has gone to working on my goals. I'm happy to report that all three fitness goals were met with 100 percent success this past week. I'm even down another half inch on my waist line. Unfortunately there is no time or inspiration to get the writing done. This work project has been a killer, and I am resigned to putting off the writing till after the first of the year, so you can expect to see that pop back up for a future challenge. Unfortunately health issues have popped up that will keep me from participating in the SuperSpartan next month. Sadical. Now that I am back on the exercise, diet and fitness kick, I am looking forward to participating in obstacle races in the new year. I've come to realize that the spark I was missing in my fitness life is that athlete mindset I had when I was younger. Since I haven't really competed in anything since I was in high school I found myself getting real lazy in the exercise department. So the rest of this year will be focused on resurrecting my inner athlete so I can compete in as many obstacles races as time and funds will allow next year. Life doesn't run away from nobody. Life runs at people. ~ Joe Frazier -

Nice job on the planks Mike. I like your "to hell with, let's put this challenge to bed" attitude. -

theroberthogan's Put Up or Shut Up Six Week Challenge

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. The Rebels have been the best motivational tool I have had in forever. You guys kick arse! My week three was, for the most part, solid. Got my exercise in almost everyday, and packed my lunch for work everyday. I did have a couple beers on Saturday, but my girlfriend and I were celebrating. We hadn't seen each other in three weeks. I am still struggling with the writing, and have a strong feeling I'm going to fail this one. Work is crazy and zapping my time to do just about anything else. I'm not giving up on writing, but accepting that I might not make my goal. You can't buy a kid a life. They've got to earn it themselves. ~Ozzie Guillen -

Week Two Update or The House That Fail Built While I could use a persistent sickness for the reason that last week I failed to meet any of my goals, the reality is I just didn't take initiative. I could have worked out, I could have packed my lunch, I could have sat down to write. Instead I ate like crap, got off my workout regime and didn't even bother to write one word. It was a major suckfest over here. So I took out the cartridge, blew on the connectors and restarted the system. This week I'm rebooting healthy, refreshed, and focused. The momentum is headed in the right direction today (worked out first thing in the morning, packed my lunch, and plan on getting some writing in before lights out). I've gotten my fair share of fail in for this challenge, now it's all success from here on out. Fall seven times, get up eight. ~ Proverb -

Keep up the good work Silence. Maybe there is a NF Rebel on here who can come out to one of your swimming session and with a video camera, or at least a good pair of eyes. -
Looks like you have some great goals set up there. You can do it, and we're all here for support. Keep up the good fight.

Mix a 15-20 minute yoga/meditation session into your nighttime ritual and see if it make an impact on your sleeping. Can't hurt to get some good vibes going to start the day and end the day. -
