  1. So my apartment has this long hallway, and I've been thinking about installing pullup bars all along it to make some homemade monkey bars to practice some American Ninja Warrior stuff (and for epic games of "the floor is lava.") The only problem is my attic pull-down stairs are in that hallway. Does anyone have experience with pull-up bars that they are able to take down once every few months?
  2. Currently reading What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, by Haruki Murakmi. Murakami is an awesome writer. It is so amazing to find out that my favorite author seems to share the same exact joy of running that I feel, but he is able to articulate it like a million times better.
  3. woo! Jeopardy is on!

  4. I've been going through StarTalk Radio when I workout lately. Love Neil deGrasse Tyson's voice!!
  5. I'm late to the party also, but I am running my first half marathon this Saturday and I am freaking pumped!
  6. Iced coffee is pretty much the best thing on this planet

  7. I just finished In the Garden of Beasts by him and it was excellent! He is such a good writer, it feels like you are stepping into those peoples' lives, instead of just being told what happened. I definitely need to go out and buy Dead Wake now
  8. I second that, except for me the gameplay more than makes up for the crappy story, so I didn't mind paying actual money for it ($10 on the PS3). Actually, I think the story is fine the characters and the voice acting are horrendous though. The shooty parts are great. It has climby bits that are identical to Uncharted, and the few actual tombs are cool, too.
  9. I don't know whats worse, running outside in the cold or running inside on a treadmill...

    1. El Exorcisto

      El Exorcisto

      Running... running is the worst.

  10. Just finished In the Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and had to immediately go out and buy the second one. It started off slow (I would have ditched it if I had anything else to read) but it got to a point where I couldn't put it down and had to finish it one night.
  11. Holy crap I am so bad at Trivia Crack...

    1. Brawlrus

      Brawlrus

I'm pretty good. My downfall is I refuse to use the lifeline things. I feel it's cheating. So...I lose, kind of a lot.

    2. Chrestomanci

      Chrestomanci

I shoulda used a lifeline, my last question was "What year did Hell's Kitchen Premiere in the US?" Who knows that?

    3. Brawlrus

      Brawlrus

Yeah, even if you watch it, unless it's your favorite show, it's probably not information you'll keep.

  12. Hearing my 4 year old niece sing Taylor Swift. "Nuffin in my brain, ooh ooh, that's what people seeeeeeee, ooh ooh, that's what people seeeeeeee, ooh ooh."
  13. Have you read Stephen King's book on writing? It really is the best thing to read if you are interested in the "craft" of writing. I loved it and I never read any of his other books. (except for his one about the Red Sox winning the 04 World Series)
  14. One of my favorite brotherly relationships is from George R. R. Martin's a Song of Ice and Fire with Tyrion and Jaime, not sure what book it is in but: That mirrors my relationship with my brother because I spent so much time focusing on our differences that I didn't realize there was mutual respect and love despite, or even because of, our differences.
  15. My life got a lot better when I stopped worrying about being "manly" and just started trying to be the best human I could be. I don't know how to change the oil in my car because for twenty bucks I can have someone who I know and trust do it for me, but I do know how to change a tire just in case I get in a bad situation. I don't care how manly or not manly either of those things makes me. Manliness only comes down to how other people see me, and fuck that noise Plus there are a lot of more "sensitive" aspects of manliness that I think are more important, like being a good father, building things not destroying things, etc. I do think there are good aspects of manliness, but they are better off done because they are good things, not because they are manly. I find I get too pressured into doing stupid stuff when I worry too much about being manly
