  1. I tried on these in store: http://www.sportinglife.ca/sportinglife/product/24113482/Casual-Shoes/Women's-Barefoot-Life-Swirl-Glove-(Black) They look great! Definitely office-worthy. I got a great deal as I bought them as 2nd pair and only paid $30 (free shipping as I was over $100 total). Not sure if that counts a deal but it was for me.
  2. 100% agree. mobilitywod.com has tons of free videos online too.
  3. Pretty cool selection of workouts: http://neilarey.com/workouts.html (via Lifehacker)
  4. Depends on the country I guess. We can look at amazon.com but hardly shop there as they don't ship to Canada in most cases. Amazon.ca doesn't sell sports wear (yet?). In store, as you said too, pink/purple is what you get.
  5. Purple too! I HATE purple. All the girly colours actually. Also, go try find dark coloured runners. Why does it all have to be in blinding bright colours or white? Has anybody really kept white shoes white for even a week? UGH. Drives me nuts!
  6. I have those. While they are warmer and water resistant they are not enough in winter. Well at least snow. Canadian winter I mean. I am now looking to for something warmer and somewhat water resistant. Regular shoes are just killing me right now. On the weekend I tried on NB minimus and they are virtually see through mesh. No good. I am in the US soon and hope for a better selection. Anything I should be looking for?
  7. Not sure what cheap means but Vibram FiveFingers have a sale online with up to 40% off.
  8. Cool I am going cave(wo)man as soon as the snow is gone. July? We have tons of wilderness around us on the ranch. How do you do a banded good morning? I mean where is the band going?
  9. I so want some! I am going to be in Nashville soon. Now I just have to find out how to get to Dicks. Google maps says it's a 5 hr treck or 2 hr bus ride. UGH.
  10. I was wondering too. Waldo is THE Nerdfitness success story in my opinion.
  11. I am curious what everybody brings for exercise when travelling. On my next trip, I am planning on bringing a skipping rope, water bottle, mini foam roller, lacrosse balls, swim suit. Of course exercise clothes, my VFFs and iPod. What are you packing?
  12. If you eat grains. The fastest one is couscous. Fit's pretty much into anything instead of pasta or rice. A fast pasta would be orzo.
  13. Anybody read Chris Hadfield's book yet? I just ordered it to read over Christmas. I am excited!
  14. I am in Calgary, Alberta so Vibrams are too cold for our winters. Though I have socks and they definitely help (in fall). It makes it a bit tighter in VFF, so if they are tight already you might not fit in there any longer. I have that problem with a couple of styles and the smart wool socks. Great socks but can't wear them in most VFF. Did you check out the Vibram Lontras? They are fleece lined and neopren. Again, not warm enough for winter here but most definitely warmer than KSOs...
  15. I have a quote from Kelly Starrett taped to my screen at work: "Seriously, the point is to try and find opportunities in your day to day life where you can sneak this mobility crap in. I like to think about it as: Pain makes you beautiful" I stuck it there because I find it the hardest to fit in in the office. This reminds me to at least sit on a lacrosse ball while working ;-)
  16. Yep, mine has his own little mat now that he can chew up. That seems to be the only way to keep him from chewing foam rollers, mats and yoga blocks. I should take a pic sometime, my yoga block has some awesome teeth prints on it. Oh the bike.... Sigh...
  17. Yep, cat loves to "help" workout. Mat out, cat on it. While foam roll/lacrosse ball rolling, I need to give him a ball too. See if you can get them to sit on your back for push ups. Added weight makes you stronger ;-) The only thing my cat hates and stays away from is the skipping. That rope scares him.
  18. I love this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIEIv...e_gdata_player Great idea (a bit nerdy too!) and can you imaging being part of the team putting it together?
  19. Hey! Another Canadian here. I am not paleo but I was overweight all my life and lost a ton in 2011. What a difference! It's like being reborn. I love to workout now which was never the case. LOLed at your user name too. Well done! Welcome to the board.
  20. Yes. That's the one. Amazing how well his stuff works. You just need to keep it up. Every day, no rest day. Though only 10-15 minutes. I just discovered that I neglected my psoas for a couple of weeks. Started last night again and it was very painful. But I know that just working on it for 3-4 days will fix that. His videos are great to learn and fun to watch too. Check it out.
  21. Since it hasn't come up in this thread yet, I want to mention that I learned and fixed a lot following KStar's method on mobilityWOD.com He also has a book now with I think is one of the best books, if not THE best, I ever invested money in.
  22. Fair enough but the people in my gym are more the whiny kind. One of my trainers is a massage therapist and he most definitely doesn't wear gloves though.
