  1. Hi guys, I am doing intermittent fasting and then in the morning I work out at around 11AM. However, before that, I have to wake up at 7AM and have a strong cup of coffee (with 2 tea spoons of sugar) to wake myself up. Does this drink break my fast? Am I just using up the calories I gained from the coffee when I workout about 3 hours later? Thanks for the help
  2. I've been a loyal Xbox 360 player for years now, but after seeing the Xbox One I've been having second thoughts! Also, the PS3 has got some really amazing games out right now that I'm unable to play (The Last of Us, Heavy Rain, etc.) and I'm really quite jealous. So in order to play some of these awesome games, I might go for a PS4.
  3. When you come home from school (when you're 10 years old), turn on the computer and try to hit level 14 on an MMORPG (I stayed on level 13 for around 14 months I reckon) before changing out of your school uniform.
  4. First: love the title of this thread! I wish you the best of luck with these goals, it seems you have very exciting plans ahead!
  5. Hey everyone, I'm looking for a sidekick so that we can keep each other motivated and be friends! They would need to be young maybe between 16-20? (as I'm only 17 and so we can talk about college and stuff as well!) About Me I've always struggled with motivation and stuff, but hopefully having someone to push me (and vice versa) maybe 2013 is the year I change my ways! I'm a girl who is going to be applying to universities soon, so I would like to talk to someone who is going through the same thing (if there is such a person on NF). I'm from the UK (so if you're from the UK even better!! timezones and everything, you know?). I like watching movies and TV shows (Current shows I watch: The Walking Dead, Dr Who, Friends, The Big Bang Theory...) with my brothers, I like sports, I like reading, I like games (on the Xbox or PC). We can keep track with each other through email, whatsapp, text (if you're from the UK), facebook, twitter, telepathy, etc. RECAP I would like a sidekick to keep motivated with, and to report on with my progress and goals and stuff, and to maybe make a new friend.
  6. I went with my family (mom, dad and little brother). It was my dad's first day off in ages so he wanted the family to go to the cinema, I looked up times and The Hobbit was out!! We went on Friday (the day of the premiere) without prior planning, and the movie was absolutely amazing.
  7. I loved the post! It really inspired me as I've lived through the same story and totally understood what you meant. Really cool!
  8. Hey everybody, I was planning to start IF soon, but with my school I don't arrive home until around 5PM. My plan was to fast 16 hours per day with a 7 hour eating window. But since my school has started and I want to be able to open my fast with my lunch time (at 2PM), I won't have any time to do my work out beforehand! What can I do? I wanted to fast from 9PM -2 PM, but when should I work out? How should I adjust my schedule? Does anyone know what to do in this situation? Thanks
  9. Well for your maths, I used to do my problems on a fun white board (the one with the markers that are wiped away). I used to pretend I was like this guy when doing my maths (like I pretended I knew everything and was teaching someone so I HAD to get it right all the time!!). It was really fun (for me! I love to pretend I'm hosting an interesting show about something. It used to be about clay making when I dug up some clay in my garden and tried to make a pot. "Okay, now try to smooth the sides with your hands and put it out to freeze in the night." (I thought clay froze to make it hard, lol! I was only 10!!!)). That's what works for me in maths (Maths is the subject that I am the worst at (I only do 4 now) so I need to really focus on it). When I'm doing chemistry or physics I also like to write down important notes on the board, then wipe it out, and try to write it out again without making any errors. I'm not sure what to do with your programming though, sorry! What I'm saying is, WHITEBOARDS FTW!!!
  10. Well, I spent like 3 hours learning about this in an HE class once (like 3 years ago though, so I hope I'm remembering properly). If you bought the game from Steam, then they are the sellers and so it's their responsibility to address your problem. They shouldn't have to refer you to another company. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/Consumerrights/Situationsthatcanchangeyourconsumerrights/DG_183048 "If the wrong item is delivered or it’s faulty If you've been sent the wrong item or the item is faulty, you can return it and ask for your money back. In these cases the seller must cover the cost of returning the items." Yep, if the game is faulty then it's their responsibility to address your problems (as they are the seller)
  11. My week was OK. Not too bad but not amazing. I really need to focus on my school work!! Aaaaaaaaaaah!! I didn't do any handstands unfortunately because I'd probably get a headache
  12. Yeah It's both: getting started and wanting to do other things. Working is just so boring, you know? Yeah I normally do well, but as these are the proper exams, I'd like to put some more effort into it. Hi thanks! It's good to be here Log from 3rd May 2012: Played a hockey match (field hockey). We won, if you are wondering!! Didn't eat anything unhealthy. Worked very little. Also played table tennis. Log from 4th May 2012: Played table tennis. Ate some chocolate (which I regretted). Other than that, my diet was OK. Log from today (5th May 2012): Played football with my brothers for an hour. Played table tennis for an hour. Did some chemistry work (3 booklets). Ate some more chocolate. (REGRET!!) I haven't been doing any running because I hate it, so I think I'm just going to change my plan into just doing some body weight exercises.
  13. Hi Bumblebee4, thanks for your interest! At the moment I'm doing a varied version of Steve's beginner body weight circuit, I'll post the full details soon. I'm not doing anything with my jump rope though... Haven't gotten round to it yet! GCSEs are like the British version of the SATs. I'll post more about that too! Log from 01/05/12 Exercise: played table tennis for an hour only. I need to do more!! Food: ate some slices of pizza BEFORE starting my challenge. Nothing bad afterwards. Study: did very very little work. I am thinking of a new study plan to keep me focused. Log from today (02/05/12) Exercise: table tennis for 30 minutes. No running because I sprained my ankle on Sunday (playing football with my brothers if you are wondering). Food: ate a very good diet today. Cut out the chocolate I have at lunch. But, went to like a party so had some chips there! Study: did very little work. Just 1/40 astronomy units done. Thanks for your interest everyone, feel free to comment. I will comment on other people's threads on the weekend!
  14. Who am I I am a forest elf who specialises in the speciality of being an assassin. Goals Run 25 minutes without a break: worth 5 stamina points Master 10 push ups and 3 pull ups: worth 3 strength points Cut out the crap completely: worth 2 constitution points Revise for GCSEs: worth 7 intelligence points Background information I hope to fulfil my goals before the 28th of June, and also to lose a few on the way. Meanwhile, my primary focus will be my 4th goal, to STUDY FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT EXAMS IN MY LIFE! I'm very lazy when it comes to working, so that will be quite difficult. I chose to be an assassin as I only own a pull up bar, 4 kg weights and a jump rope. And also, I do not have access to a gym (as I live in the countryside, miles from civilisation). And also, this whole area interests me. I may add some more details here later, when I have the time. My Subjects MathsAdd MathsPhysics (21 units)Biology (22 units)Chemistry (22 units)GermanICTEnglishEnglish LiteratureR.EAstronomy (40 units)History Starting statistics Weight: haven't weighed Push ups: 1 Pull ups: 0 Running time: 5 minutes Strength (STR) - 2 Dexterity (DEX) - 3 Stamina (STA) - 2 Constitution (CON) - 2 Wisdom (WIS) - 4 Charisma (CHA) - 2 I plan to work out several days a week with a rest day on Sunday. I may change my rest day later. I also plan to work for about 4/5 hours per day for my exams.
