  1. I have been having a fair amount of slowness. My right knee has been in need of much strengthening. I keep getting pain in different parts of it as I work out more. Then I take time to heal. I am not going to try to run until spring, I think. For now I want to focus on using the stationary bike and squats to get it strengthened up. Not sure why the right one is being so janky and the left isn't.
  2. Yes. Keep the eyes looking up. You can do this! Your attitude is awesome and very inspiring. I have trouble thinking about respawning because I get frustrated too much when things go awry. You are in inspiration.
  3. This week was pretty good. Lost another 2 pounds and a half inch from the waist. That's 10 pounds during the challenge. Not going to make my goals for the waist loss, but my trajectory is what it should be. I am doing what I'm supposed to do, so no problems.
  4. Hey Valkyrie, That sounds like you're having a hell of a time. For the cramps, magnesium should help. Banana or two a day for a few days might help. But you may just need to take time off to recover fully. These types of problems are usually your body telling you something is wrong. Just my 2 cents.

  9. At the end of week three and nothing to report. I did what I was supposed to do (for the most part with the eating, what with Thanksgiving and all). And rather than see any progress, I had a complete stall out. No weight lost; no waist lost. I am annoyed. I don't know what I could have done better or differently. Not seeing the progress Iwant is one thing, but not seeing any despite doing the right thing is annoying. I worked out like I was supposed to; I ate very close to goal in spite of the holiday; I stayed well hydrated. This is a tough moment, mentally. I do not like it when I

  11. I dig the problem with sugar. I may not be able to give you real encouragement here, but I can offer you this much: I have avoided sugar and sweetness for a while now. It took several months, but I now do not do well with eating sugary stuff. It hurts my stomach to more than a small portion. If you stick with it, and you can do it, it's worth the reward when you have a sweet tooth.

  13. Thanks! The movement toward paleo is glacially slow, so I'm not worried there. It isn't a goal to go paleo at the moment. Mostly just winning the battle against refined carbs. I have done very well with portion control. I guess, to be clearer, I have been doing well with stopping when I'm not hungry any longer. The portioning is more that I have been doing well with taking smaller portions at the beginning of meals. With eating out, I try to make it point to choose paleo compliant meals, which helps me a lot be replacing carbs with veggies, making portioning easier because I can fill u
