  1. Hello to all! Recently I changed my focus away from weight and am focusing on getting fit and strong to complete my quest of visiting(and enjoying!) all 59 national parks. Enough dreaming and collecting underpants as Steve would say. I have a whole store full of underpants on nutrition/weight loss /exercise etc. I also have a collection of travel plan underwear too. Time to stop collecting and start doing! Health challenge 1-no diet soda. This is so difficult for me. But I will do it! Health challenge 2- run/walk 2 times a week Life- meditation 5 minutes a day Level up- will visit my next national park this month. Planning on Hot Springs in a couple of weeks Let's do this!

  3. Way to get it done! Nice workout despite the doggie distraction. I agree tracking while eating out is hard. Often I just take a picture of it and that is stored in my app. I am like you with the eating for other reasons than hunger. At least the picture makes me stop and be accountable. 😊
  4. Good plan! I always like nice clothes for the gym. Good motivation 😉. Once you are in, make it a workout!
  5. Running in the heat is tough, especially at the start of summer. Good to listen to your body and stop/slow down as needed. I ran an obstacle race several years ago in the heat of the summer in the middle of the day and 2 people died from heat stroke. It was awful. No exercise is worth risking your life!
  6. Today started out good. Early morning yoga that I really didn't want to get out of bed for😯, but glad I did. On track until dinner where my home made Mac and cheese briefly took over my brain and forced me to eat it! Lol. However, I avoided the pop, ice cream and candy bars. So it could have been worse. New day tomorrow!
  7. Welcome! We have very similar goals. I am doing zombies 5k as well. Makes it lots more fun😊. Look forward to seeing your progress!
  8. Welcome! These look like great goals. Very doable. I noticed your life quest. It brought back acute memories of med school and residency. That is a good approach to review for the test. Good luck in this challenge!
  9. Sounds like a great first week! What a tough go with the car wreck. Working on the PT should definitely be the priority. I agree something fun makes the exercise much for sustainable. I look forward to watching your progress!
  10. Hang in there! I am new here too but help and support is all around. When you are struggling that's when you need to post and reach out. Tomorrow is a new day. Focus on your goals and remember that exercise and good nutrition help mental health issues too.

  16. Enjoying your thread. I too, gained weight the first week despite really making a lot of positive changes. Very, very annoying. However, we are still here! I am in it for the long haul and I am reminding myself of how much better I feel. The weight will come😈
  17. We have very similar goals. Sounds like the first week was good, except the pinched nerve. I gave up pop too and am tracking my food on my jawbone Up. The scale was disagreeable and I gained 2 lbs. However, I am in this for the long haul, so I will be patient. 😉 Keep up the great work!

  19. In grading my week, exercise - B 4 times this week, water-A, tracking food-B, and life quest meditating-A. Not too bad. As an aside, these weren't named goals, but aims that I had, no pop(yeah!), no ice cream, or cookies, no beer, very little gluten. I totally rocked those things!
  20. Wow, a lot going on. I think it is great you reached out here. Virtual support can be a lifesaver. Ask for the raise and start fresh tomorrow, it is a new day. As trite as that sounds, it is true😊
  21. I agree. Today was my real 1 week weigh in. I gained 2 lbs. Just a little frustrated. But I will let it go. I know I feel better and I know it will come off. I am just impatient. I will trust the process. I am thinking about joining the Academy. Anybody else try that?

  23. Great goals! Looks like lots of us are running as a goal. Wish it would warm up a bit here! I am a wimp, if it is below 20 or windy, I am an inside runner😊
  24. I worked at a national park in Hawaii one summer in college and park Rangers are the best! Sounds like good goals, go check on that tailbone!
  25. Mid day 5 Hope everyone is having a good day! Well, I stepped on the scale this morning, against all logical thinking and fell into the old frustration that it hasn't moved. 😬. I know it should be ignored and usually I do well at that, but now I am annoyed. Oh well, I am still on track for today, I will put my big girl panties on, and Forge ahead! Just smack me if I want to step on the scale more than once a week again!
