Here are some questions to put your goals to the test: Is your overall quest achievable (over a short or long period of time)? Is it reasonable? Yes - get down to 141 lbs on my way to 135. That is well within reach for a 6 week period. (The 141) and 135 should be achievable with the lifestyle changes that the 6 Week Challenge will help make Do your 3 quests all build towards your main quest in little ways, or are you taking on too much? Do your quests have sub-quests or is it just one thing to focus on? My three quest do support my main quest -- walking a defined amoutn and frequency at lunch at work, increasign my jogging frequency and increasing my jogging distance. Are your main goals realistic? Can you scale them to smaller steps to fit your life better, even if it will make it take a little longer to achieve them? Seem pretty realistic to me. Not overly ambitious which would result in discouragement/failure. Are your goals able to be measured and tracked? What will you use to track them? My fitbit tells no lies. And it gives me reports weekly. How are you grading your goals? Are they pass/fail (“every dayâ€, “not even once over the six weeksâ€)? Is there a reward for the effort, or are you only grading yourself on whether or not you “lose the weight†or “run the distanceâ€? The three supporitng quests are weekly efforts in day size bits so it is pretty much a yes/no proposition at theend of every week. What is your plan for continuing/altering/grading those goals if you become ill or injured? If I become ill or injured -- well injured - I'll need to switch out a mini quest goal that allows for forward progress. If sick -- I am not going to worry about it except for adding a fourth goal which would be to get back to the three goals as soon as possible. Depends on how sick. The most I ever get is a cold. Did you take into consideration any special occasions (Labour Day, Independence Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) that may occur during the challenge? What modifications do you need to build into your goals for those? Yeah -- Thanksgiving! I plan on using portin control, getting a run in the day befor, morining of and day after, Letting my family know of my Quest and bring a sensible desert alternative to the feast. Do any of your main goals conflict with each other? Will one goal make it hard to do another? No -- I think they are all mutually supportive. Do you already have the time in your schedule to actually complete the goals you’ve set? If not, what are you planning to do to make time for them? I dont every day for the increased jogging so I need to work in time to go running at night when I get home from work -- and before I start dinner. Its tough working and being mom - and getting the exercise in. Before work is even less of an option. Are you trying to build multiple habits, or is all your energy focused on your main quest? Just this one for now. I'll build on it as time goes on. Getting a good fonundation is where I want to be now.
