  1. IF at work is hard. The job i have is pretty stressful, help desk technician. Its not that the work itself helping people is hard fixing the problems or figuring out where to send the calls is actually pretty easy boring even. Its the constantly having to repeat myself and walk people through the most basic of tasks especially when these people are supposed to be engineers. Anyways, I think fasting is kind of hard and even more so when you are under stress I've been keepin up with keeping my eating times from 1-9pm so i can have dinner with the family and stuff but just some times its hard not to eat just for some distraction or comfort. Did my jog/walk on wed night actually ran for 1/2 mile reading is still soo nice at night to relax. I had a dr appointment this mornign so i missed my morning workout but i'll do it tonight after the kidling is in bed sorry for the rant
  2. and thats why i'm gonna prove them wrong or at least prove it works for me

  7. ya i'd go with loren's suggestion as well the rest days i try to do some light walking and riding my bike so i do get some excersize but i decided to really give the mucsles a good workout on the cc days slow and steady with as perfect form as i can get
  8. PT specialist said it may be cartilage by my sarcum so she gave me some exercises to do and i have pt for 6 weeks also work is getting me a kneeling chair and i'm gonna get a balll for home to sit on just have to keep working on it
  9. yep already have stuff workout tonight here is a good question though on off days after riding to work mebbe going ofr a jog or walk at lunch i get home and i want to workout but its no a workout day i feel guilty or lazy for not working out hen i feel mad at myself unti l the day that it is a workout day then i've ripped on myself for being lazy for so much if i do workout on the off days i'm worried about burning myself out i've thought about just going into the garage and chilling with a good book or even a 20 min walk then i feel like i've done something and can enjoy a computer game or movie the balance between doing the work and being patient enough to let the exercise work for me can be tough
  10. yah i decided this weekend i'm gonna clear up some more of my workbench / man cave area in the garage its been getting cluttered and setup some speakers so i can ger some good music going when i want to workout + getting a proper notebook to track my workouts i may even start blogging on here making myself more accountable and sharing tend to keep me more motivated
  11. I just got some chains and pipe for homemade rings i can adjust the height or my kid can swing on them when he wants to other than that i was doing dumbell rows with jugs of water gallon=8lbs
  12. I think its time to get out the journal and really reapply myself work on better form and intensity in addition to the biking what might be a good supplement for those days where i feel like a slacker for nto working out cause its not friday jogging might be a good one since i really want to do a 5k at some point
  13. I do ride my bike to work about 5 miles each way almost every day I was trying to dedicate a month to each progression and i'm doing pretty well on leg lifts and squats but fell like i'm stuck on the incline pushups and incline pulls when i lower the rings to my waist i can only do 1 or 2 so i have them about chest height to do the sets of 10 i know i have to be patient but sometimes it gets tough to hang in there
  14. I have been having problems with my tailbone. Went to orthopedic specialist and said i have coxxydynia. Basically sitting is uncomfortable with a bonus shooting pain when i stand up. Standing, walking, running are all ok. I have a standing rig at work so i can use my computer standing but that gets old and standing in 1 spot for 8 hours is not great. So i go through this cylce every day of standing til i'm tired sitting till its uncomfortable with the bonus pain of getting up. By the end of the day i'm soo fried i have problem getting motivated enough and feel like i dont have the energy to do any kind of workout. I'm still doing some Bodyweight workouts in the mornigns and riding my bike to work most days but my wieght loss has kind of plateaued and my strength i feel has gotten worse. anyone had these problems with chronic type pain (btw doc suggested cortisone shot which will be soon and i really hope it helps though i am very nervous about that in itself)
  15. For most of my life i have been overweight i had gotten to 297 also having asthma gave me a strong aversion to exercises in any way shape or form. I'm trying to get over that one my upper body strength is pretty sad overall i can do a few pushups but still no where near a pull up and i know that the strength will come slowly but i feel kinda stagnant i've dropped down to 235 now and have been doing the bbw from nerd fitness 3 times a week. I also picked up convict conditioning which i like the idea and the exercise progressions but the way the workouts are defined in the book i'm not sure where to place myself one workout had me only doing 2 exercises 2 times a week and i really feel like that is not enough. I had thought of using the BBW as a base and a pretty good circuit and doing convict conditioning exercises as replacements I also dont want to hurt myself /burnout either . anyone have any suggestions for getting stronger /losing more weight especially (i've kind of plateaued for now) sometimes i feel like i'm not motivated enough to workout at home would adding some weights /sandbags/ etc as a secondary workout i dont really want to join a gym and get addicted to using heavy weights for workouts ( i like the idea of body weight type workouts) any suggestions would be appreciated especially for working on pullups etc
  16. do 1 damn pullup and a handstand would be nice too got a long way to go and alot of work

  21. I made a big screw up and accidentally registered for the run for your lives in St louis. Problem is i live in san diego. Anyways If anyone in that area is interested in doing the run and would be so ind as to buy my registration from me. I paid $62.50 for the registration and would liketo recoup the full amount if possible so i can still register for the san diego event but i will entertain reasonable offers. They apparently are not allowing location transfers or refunds so i would rather not have to eat this money Thanks PM me if interested thanks Mario
  22. my biggest problem with convict conditioning is stepping back a bit with the early progressions i was doing the BBW circuit for about 3 months before i got CC though i was getting some sore shoulder probs i plan on giving at least a month to the earlier steps to build the tendons and ligaments just feel like i'm not moving even doing sets of like 40 at a time step 2 in march
  23. I have the same issue as well i am actively trying to level myself up and i am doing great 35# downa nd feeling great but it is disheartening with a wife who dos not want to try and wont support my desire to have our kid eat more primal too the only thing you can do is just go for it single player style and hope that your example will inspire them I feel your pain with family members keeping crud food around too we live with my in laws who flat out refuse to get rid of junk food even though my FIL has had 2 quadrupal bypass like 6 stints and pretty much blames his weight on all his meds not the bag of cookies he will plow through in 1 sitting and my MIL who is impressed with my progress but every time i tell her to ty a small chaneg just hems and haws ovber giving up he sugary chai drinks and cookies and bread and and and... one thing you can do about stuff in the house is tell them its ok if they eat it justplease keep it somewhere you cannot find it or get it easy they have accomodated me in that at least again just keep at it hopefully they will be inspired by your example
  24. Great advice so far hers my bit i started at 297 myself no escesize and using my athsma as an excuse but i started riding my bike partway to work every day i used the freeway for the majority then 5 miles on the surface streets after parking at the park and ride it really is motivating to get back so i can go home after about a month of that i hate days where i dont get to ride my bike also trythe beginnner body weight training on the NF website http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ i started doing that 3 days a week in the morning no stupid gym rats no intimidation just me moring mebbe some music and i'm done in like 30 mins and can get ready beforewife and kid wake up
