  1. Meditation is wonderful..... I need to get back into it. Amazing how even just a little exercise excites our body and helps our mood. Glad the walk went well. Let us know how the appointment goes!
  2. Love how you are destroying your bad moods and doubts over and over! I haven't heard of the formula but will look into it as well.
  3. WEEK 1! Battle 1: FOOD PREP 7/7 Really did well on this. I was surprised that I stuck to it. I was tempted most when eating with my family as I make both meals, mine and theirs. BUT I survived and was really proud how well I did. Making next weeks prep right now. Battle 2: BURPEES! 6/6 Up to 30 this week. That's only one obstacle! Better suck it up and get a few more in ;} Battle 3: RUNNING 3/3 Treadmill is working far better. Boring! but warmer. SO a change in the battle plan! With Firefly!! There is a convenient lil tv over the treadmill that is just begging for a few Firefly episodes while running. If that doesn't keep you wanting to go forward I don't know what will. If you haven't seen you MUST! I love my music but I can't stare at the blue wall. I need scenery. Or I will be fail. Life Battle: NF Socialite. 3/7 I am strait up failing this one. My computer has been having issues! But I can't use that as an excuse. I need to find time for this one!
  4. Week one is going well! It's been a busy week and my schedule at work is a little goofy due to having to cover for a co-worker out for the week. Family is all over the place as always and trying to get them from point A to B can prove.... problematic..... BUT I did end up with a Monday off that gave me an opportunity to take my youngest to her karate class. That was so great! We both used to got together until the dojo moved about 45 min away. It just doesn't work with my work schedule any more so I had to quite. I thought about going to another dojo to take classes but it just didn't seem right. They had become my family and seeing them all again was great. Sensei even interrupted class to tell me to go get a gi on and join class. I wanted to but it was a high belt class. I miss it a lot and hope I can go back. What is fantastic is that the group I am doing the Spartan Race with are all from the dojo. They have peer pressured me into SO many runs! And I love them for it. BUT the best part about going with my youngest is to see how much she has improved sense I had seen her last. She has changed so much because of martial arts. Discipline, patients, strength, confidence and and responsibility. I love that when I decided to take on this new adventure in becoming healthy and active they both jumped in with me. I'm very proud of them both. SO now that I'm done bragging about my girls I better ante up what I've been doing. Battle 1: FOOD PREP So far going fantastic! Made all my food and have been sticking to it. I am over all eating the same thing but changing my snacks a bit to keep it interesting and not burn myself out. Quest bars are my Bestie. I know I know not whole food but give my indulgence ;} Going to mix it up a bit next week and do a different protein and replace my morning bread with sweet potato. NOM NOM NOM I am loving food prep and it leaves me with NO excuses! Battle 2: BURPEES! Yup... hate them still... LOL up to 20 now. SO VERY MANY MORE TO GO! But sticking to it... made the plan gotta stick to it. Battle 3: RUNNING So yea.... This one had an adventure. Monday went great did a nice run... in the dark,,,,, in the cold...... and my light went out..... and yea.... Trail running in the dark, in the cold, just was not going to work. So decided that the treadmill.... however boring was .... safer to say the least. So Wednesday went great EXCEPT! I forgot my running shoes! BLAH. Brought my workout shoes but I know better than to run with those they give me blisters. I ended up running in my day shoes and my left foot was all numbly by the end. SO all my gear I need is now in a bag that will only be for running. Music! My fave makes everything better. I think I can suck it up to stare at a lovely mint green wall for hours at a time.... Goodie. At least till it warms up outside. Life Battle: NF Socialite. I have been hit and miss on this one. I had major issues with my video card on my computer and Taptalk is apparently beyond me. I am learning. BUT no excuses. I will get on and spread some love. Hope everyone is killing their goals.
  5. .......... wait.... what where you saying??? ;} Jk Jk Doing well so far! I love egg whites!! All the protein not so much fat. Every now and then I will throw a whole egg in. My breakfast go-to Love the tradition of pizza and how you have adjusted it for your nutrition.
  6. LOL well lets start small and work our way up ;} I am working up to new running shoes! So expensive but so worth it!
  7. Rewards are a killer way to get motivated!
  8. I so feel the same way! But I know it works! specially clothing! When it becomes fun to shop!! Here for support!
  9. I saw bacon and had to pop in! So love this challenge! Congrats!! and the nick name the baby already has!
  10. Heyla Aislinn! WELCOME!! Love your goals! You found a fantastic place to help reach them! I'm getting ready to do a obstacle course as well. Would love to follow along to see your journey!
  11. Love the three phases! Subbing for inspiration for sure!
  12. Thanks so much!! Yea 10k or more! You have some impressive runs under your belt as well!
  13. DON'T BE CALM! BE RELENTLESS! This will be my third challenge. I am really excited that I stuck the last two out. They went pretty well but I feel I could have done better on both. This challenge I am aiming for 100%. I am wondering over to the Rangers Guild for a bit of training this time around. Don't mind the Assassin in your midst, only here for training.... swear... Keeping up with the strength training and flexibility but also adding some endurance training. I have come from being severely obese to within 25lb of my goal weight when I let myself slide into bad habits, a nasty injury and gained back about 50lb. Last year was not pretty and I am bound and determined to get the weight back off and then some. So...... I signed up for a Spartan Race in June. My first ever.... And its a Super... I'm more than a little intimidated by this. BUT I have some time and have been getting amazing advise from Veteran Spartans and am eating up all the info they can give me. I feel I really needed this DEADLINE. This impending date looming over my head to get me to really buckle down and do it. I keep saying to myself “Yea I'll do that... but whats the rush I can start tomorrow.†Well I can't do that now. Not if I want to finish this race. And I don't just want to finish it I want to rock it. Even if it takes me 6 hours and I'm broken and bleeding by the end I want to do it all and feel I gave it my all and then some. I have 124 days and a few Challenges to get to where I want to be so today is the day to get started! MAIN GOAL: Recover lost upgrades (skills, strength, flexibility, endurance) to loose 15lb in this challenge! Battle 1: Prep My Food Weekly and Follow Through Daily! (WIS +4) I am rocking my workouts and really feel good about my progress there but my nutrition has been spotty at best. I am giving myself too much leeway and not planning ahead well. Battle plan: I will need to do regular planning weekly. Shopping, preparing and sticking to a regular regiment. I am going to try to tighten up on what I eat. Really stick to the same thing to get my brain to click into the fact that junk food is NOT going to help me reach my goals. Shopping and food prep on Sundays for all meals and snacks. And sticking to said plan for this challenge and beyond. I feel like I should have some ability to stray a few times but that always seems to set off a trigger to make it a full cheat day and I just cant afford that right now. Battle 2: Burpees........ (DEX +4) Spartan Races have tons of insane obstacles and if you can't complete one you have to do 30 burpees. Now me and burpees have a love/hate thing going... I know they are an incredible full body workout that is beneficial to add to any workout BUT I really HATE doing them! Going to have to suck it up if I want to finish this race. I know I won't be able to complete all the obstacles so I better be prepared to do a lot of burpees. Battle plan: Complete a 30 day Burpee challenge. I found a great progression for 30 days. At the end of the 30 days I think I will push farther for the remainder of the challenge. Adding a few more each day and see where I end up. My goal is to be able to do 150 by the end of the 30 days and 175 by the end of the challenge. Battle 3: Running/Jogging/Sprinting (STA +3) Running is another love/hate. I really hate knowing I have a run today but once I do it I feel amazing. I want to gain back the progress I had made and enjoying doing runs again. Battle plan: Finish the 5K challenge and start 10K Challenge. I will be finishing up the last 4 weeks of the C25K program and start the 10K. This will be every other day. MUST stick with it! Life Quest: Life Battle 1: Giving Back to NF Forums (CHA +4) I came to NF to meet like minded people that can help me reach my goals and I have met a ton! TY! BUT It is my turn to give back. I am posting on my challenges but rarely post on others and that hardly seems fair. Going to check in more often and try to keep up with the threads. Battle plan: Post at least 3 responses a day. I love to help others and love to share what I have learned with anyone who needs it. I will reach out more often to engage with others. Scoring: Scoring will be on the following grading system. I will be using the Daily Success app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingdroid.dailysuccess&hl=en)on my phone to track daily progress. Battle 2 36 days of Burpee Challenge. 6 days a week for 6 weeks A= 36-29 days B= 28-22 days C= 21-15 days D= 14-8 days F = 7-0 days Battle 1 and Life Battle 42 days of following Daily Food Prep and Daily NF Posts A= 42-37 B= 36-29 C= 28-21 D= 20-11 F= 10-0 Battle 3 18 days of Running/Jogging/Sprints three days a week A= 18-15 B= 14-11 C= 10-7 D= 6-3 F= 2-0 I'm really excited! I just need to keep the run going and not burn myself out. I think this is a good battle plan to get where I want to be. Don't be calm! Be RELENTLESS!
  14. RESULTS!!!! Well.... Good and bad. Sickness and some strait out laziness hit me hard in this one. Battle 1 Workout 6 days a week 29/36 Score A STR: +2, DEX: +2, STA: +2 I had a strong start and a strong finish. The middle was riddled with sickness. I have had a few issues with my hip injury still. It really acts up when ever I am jumping a lot or out trail running. I can usually do the stretches PT had me doing and can get it back in place with a loud POP . LOL Some funny looks from my girls. I am hoping to continue strengthening it to keep it from displacing on its own. I love working out. I love how good I feel when I'm done and sweaty and tired. I plan to carry this on for future Challenges Battle 2 No fatty/Sugary Snacking 26/42 Score C CHA: +0, CON: +1 Yea..... I want to say it may as well been a fail but really I learned a lot. I learned some triggers. Thinks that really set off my sweet tooth. I did find that even though I was worried I would get really bored with the same thing every day I did fantastic when I food prepped. I do think I need to add more protein but that may be a subject for the next challenge. I have also learned that stress in my day REALLY sets me off to binge eating. Working on de-stressing and separating the reaction of eating from the stress. Stress happens. GO DO A WORKOUT LOL!! I think I may be eating too few Cals. I feel my body at the end of the day and the next morning and I should be feeling far better. Will do some research and make some adjustments. Battle 3 Pull Up Progression 14/18 Score B STR: +1, STA: +1 I really had fun with this one. Thanks again HAZARD for setting me strait! It was much more of a challenge once I understood how the processes worked. I am still not able to do a full pull up BUT know I am making progress because the Body Weight Rows are FAR easier. PROGRESS! I know if I get this extra weight off that will help a ton too. I will keep this up and add more like strength based movements like these. Life 1 $25 in Savings each paycheck 4/4 Score PASS! WIS: +2 THIS was a great idea! I really like having that money there. I was REALLY hard not to use it on frivolous things a few times but I prevailed. There is plenty in there to take care of a few doctors visits and prescriptions if need be. And I will keep this one going! I feel good knowing its there! Life 2 Cleaning up 20min daily 27/42 Score C CON: +1 Another one that I felt I was way too close to failing. I found myself slacking off big time. Or rushing to do it last minutes right before bed to be able to get my points for the day. I need to work on this one for sure. Slacker! When I did do it regularly several days in a row it really made weekly clean up far easier. Spent more time actually cleaning then dealing with the clutter before I could clean. I will be following up with this goal. It really needs to be a regular thing. I feel good about my progress and have learned a lot about what I have done to move forward. Little lessons along the way to make us stronger people. I am really excited I stuck with the whole challenge. I need to be more consistent with my logging. Especially with my weekly scoring. Had to work to go back and figure out how I did each week. Good thing I used the app. Can't wait for the next challenge. Have a few ideas and I think I am ready to hunker down and really get things moving in the right direction. Time to make progress rather then just recovery. I registered for a Spartan Race in June! Wow freaking out. Not sure where that will take me with training. Looking forward to the challenge and the motivation of a deadline!

  16. One more week to kill it! Log your food! I struggle with that too. One more week!
  17. Alright alright! Out of the sickly week and tore it up this week! .... well with workouts at least ;} Having so much fun with the Minis! Sorry I fell short on helping with a few of them. Battle 1 Workout 6 days a week 6/6 Rearranged my workouts and I'm liking this set up far better. Little less Yoga/Pilates and more cardio/strength. I love how stoked I get about my workouts and how amazing I feel after doing them. Battle 2 No fatty/Sugary Snacking 5/7 As always my nutrition is my BANE!!! I have just been mindless. Convincing myself I am hungry (and I'm not!) and eating whatever. My hubby went to Shot Show in Las Vegas and met a really cool chick names Adella Relentless. She gave him a bunch of stickers with her motto on it. Don't be calm be RELENTLESS! I love it! I am making my new motto too! Don't think about it. Hit it hard! Put everything you have into it. So I'm going to stay Relentless! Battle 3 Pull Up Progression 3/3 OK Made a shift in this one thanks to @Hazard! Monday: Bent Over Rows Set #1 - 15 lbs for 6 reps Set #2 - 10 lbs for 10 reps Set #3 - 10 lbs for 14 reps Body Wight Rows Set #1 - 5 reps Set #2 - 5 reps Wednesday: Set #1 - 15 lbs for 7 reps Set #2 - 10 lbs for 10 reps Set #3 - 10 lbs for 15 reps pushed hard for that last one Body Wight Rows Set #1 - 5 reps Set #2 - 5 reps Friday: Set #1 - 15 lbs for 8 reps Set #2 - 10 lbs for 10 reps Set #3 - 10 lbs for 12 reps..... I was really sore... I know, I know, NO EXCUSES! Body Wight Rows Set #1 - 5 reps Set #2 - 5 reps Life 1 $25 in Savings each paycheck No deposit this week but next!!! Next I plan to put a bit more in. Been tempted a few times to delve in but have stayed strong on that front. Life 2 Cleaning up 20min daily 5/7 I feel myself slipping this week. Too tired after work blah blah blah. I need to step this one up. Starting to get a little resentful I am the only one chipping in. But needs to be done one way or another. I feel far better about my workouts but the nutrition is still being a bugger. I decided I needed a deadline. A hard date to help me stick to this. Sooooooo I signed up for my first Spartan Super Race in JUNE! EEP!! Not sure what I have done and I'm honestly really freaked out now BUT I am getting lots of great advise and info on how to train and I'm feeling far more confident. I feel some extra training will be in order so some good material for the next challenge. And my Pull up progression will be essential so I will really need to stick with that. For now I think I will finish out this challenge with what I have and start with the new training with a new challenge. The thought of a new HUGE challenge like this is really keeping me in check. Need to stay Relentless! ;}
  18. It is really hard to remember to log everywhere. I do the same with MFP then here and Fito and checking in with FB groups. It's a lot. But Keeps me accountable! I need that!!
  19. Subbing late but love all the info! You are killing it!! Life really gets in the way of life doesn't it. You will get back on top soon. Glad the kitty is getting back to normal. I was trying to think of somewhere I could keep track of weight lifting. Fito thats right! Haven't been on there forever! Thanks for the reminder.
  20. WOW! so glad I came across this! I'm jumping into subbing this and love what I'm reading! Way to be an inspiration! I just signed up for my first Spartan and I am checking out how people are getting ready for them, seeing how they train. Keep it up you are a rockstar.
  21. Jumping into following late but love the drive!! Keep pushing! I just signed up for my first Spartan and I am eating up the knowledge and how people are getting ready with training. Can't wait to see your results with this challenge.
