  1. Slow and steady... MISSION REPORT - 4/14 (Day 2) Challenge 1: Tracked all food! Early results are that weight appears to be back on its downward trajectory, after my holding pattern during the break. Challenge 2: Unexpected return to Agent Carter nights with my friend (well, we've moved on to other shows now) so again, no workout. Can't abide a repeat of that, so it's ON for Day 3. Challenge 3: Updated! And I am reading along on my followed threads even when I'm not commenting. That's the next step...
  2. MISSION REPORT 4/13 (Day 1) Challenge 1: Tracked food, went a little over calorie goal as I'm getting back into the swing of things Challenge 2: No major activity Challenge 3: Followed some more people's challenges, and updated mine! Nothing too exciting to update, but popping in just to keep track
  3. Well, IF YOU INSIST... And yes, of course, that's totally a full-sized guitar, not a ukulele, just so you know. ~Be inspired.~
  4. Ooh, also hopping on the fiber train, but this site: https://fullplateliving.org/ is very PRO-FIBER (to the detriment of protein and other stuff), but their Quick Start Guide has a lot of clever ways to add more fiber to things you're already eating, plus they have a good breakdown of what foods have the most fiber per ounce, etc.! Or...
  5. THANK YOU ALL for the Sweet Potato Support! I am coming around on them and trying to overcome my past traumas. (I think my problem is that I mostly prefer salty foods to sweet, and sweet potatoes often appear unannounced in venues where I am expecting something salty. Now that I can control their preparation and know what to expect... I get more of their appeal. ) But anyway, I got another one for this week so we'll see how that turns out!! #facingfears I also put "Update Nerd Fitness" as a daily task on HabitRPG, so I really *have* to do it every day now—or risk losing HP!! It's a little trickier as my phone is being repaired and in the mean time I'm using an old one that can't handle apps, so I just have to remember to keep track of everything while I'm actually at my computer! HOPE EVERYONE'S DAY ONE IS GOING AWESOME.
  6. I had the SAME REACTION 'cause I'm like—HEY I KNOW THAT CELEBRITY!!! No pressure now for this challenge, of course Yes!!!!
  7. Whoo hoo! Excited to follow you again and excited to see what you come up with for those last two goals! I also just realized ULTRON is gonna come out during this challenge... hopefully you'll get some good Hawkguy (or I guess, just Hawkeye in this version) action to inspire you ))
  8. Not much to report pre-challenge, but trying to get fully back in the habit of updating I got some new hand wraps (black, like my soul), did another workout last night AND I got over one of my food fears/dislikes and actually ate a ~*~SWEET POTATO~*~ It was spiced to all hell and baked like a potato chip, but I think it still counts!
  9. Hi ksports—it sounds like you've done a great job of adding exercise into your routine! One thing I notice missing from your post, though? Food! What are you eating on a normal basis, and have you tried logging your food for at least a few days to see what your general calorie/macro intake is? It sounds like you're burning a fair amount of calories on a daily basis through exercise, so if you're still not seeing the results you want, I'd start with another look at your diet. Steve has a more eloquent post on this topic here—as he terms it, "you can't outrun your fork." There's lots more resources around the forums on meal plans, etc., once you figure out how you'd like to move on from there!
  10. YEAH, you show those Girl Scouts, Kishi! Enjoy the well-earned day off!
  11. Already done two hour-long, sweat-dripping workouts in the bye week so far! Something's clearly wrong...
  12. Wow, awesome work on your goals!! Looking forward to following you on your next one! WHOOOOOO!!!
  13. Don't worry, he's just flexing to break the cast off of his arm! He already fused the bones together with his mind.
  14. RAWR! Breaking in to say that I always love your challenges and your gifs, and it looks like this is gonna be another awesome one!!!
  15. I'm ALMOST distracted from the badassness of your goals by the poetry of your words. ALMOST! Super excited to see see where this challenge leads!
  16. Right?!?!?! Ready to ROCK THIS!!!!!!!!!!
  17. HELLO HELLO HELLO. So, I kind of fizzled out at the end of the last challenge, but you know what? It's gonna take A LOT more than that to stop me from reaching my goals, especially now that I'm infused with the spirit of The Rock's divine forces from Furious 7. Highlights from the last challenge included: - actually trying out a few different boxing/muay thai/HIIT classes around town, even ones where I didn't know anybody; additionally, not passing out during ANY of them - discovering my workout pants had gotten too big when they fell down during jump roping in one class - freaking my boyfriend out when I asked to borrow the same size free weights he uses for my rows So for this one, I'm shifting around my goals a little to make sure I can stay on target—keeping things challenging, while still allowing for some flexibility overall. I have a little better idea of what is realistic for me at this point, so I think I've devised some ways to push myself, but also set myself up for success. MISSION 1: FUEL UP Everything else seems to fall into place when I'm doing right by my meal plan, so I'm continuing this mission I've had since the beginning! Food tracking is my primary goal, while also keeping my calorie and macro goals in mind. Goal: Track all food + Stay within calorie goals ++ Stay within macro goals MISSION 2: BRING IT! I'm combining two last challenge's goals into a singular "get active" mission, which I think will give me a little more flexibility in terms of scheduling and budgetary concerns. I'm loosely defining this as a 45-60 minute physical activity that makes me sweat, but some of the things I know I'll be counting: boxing/other martial arts classes, at-home Daily Burn and boxing videos, Fighter's Codex, and maybe an occasional 10k step day + bodyweight circuits, etc. Goal: get active at least 3x / week + At home workouts ++ Outside classes MISSION 3: I DON'T HAVE FRIENDS, I HAVE FAMILY During the last challenge, I only followed a few people's threads because I thought it would help me not feel overwhelmed... but in actuality, it just left me feeling like I didn't have to update much here, 'cause who'd see it? Luckily, I had some great people checking in on me, but I'd like to not let it get to the point where people are wondering where I've gone. Also, I need to get back on reading everyone else's threads! That was a great motivator for me in seeing all the crazy wonderful things people are doing around here, so hopefully I'll be a little more active this time around. Goal: Update my thread consistently (Disclaimer to myself: it doesn't have to be a full journal entry of everything I did that day, and it doesn't even have to have a Rock gif in it—just a Mission Report is totally fine.) + Keep up on my follows! ++ Participate in mini challenges I couldn't wait so I'm keeping up on my food tracking and workouts throughout the break, and gonna start scoping for more follows throughout the week! Wishing a successful challenge to you all!
  18. Hoi Keejos, welcome! I have my eye on an MMA gym as well, but I'm working up to it with other disciplines and general fitness—so when I walk in there I'll be able to drop everyone to the ground Or that's the plan anyway. Welcome and good luck!!
  19. Omg HI HI HI!!! Ok. So. Sadly didn't get much done since the last update! Whomp whomp. I was at a convention for most of the week, and while I did fairly well on my food (I actually packed healthy snacks AND a lunch AND a dinner for each day, which I never ever think to do), I also didn't get my Daily Burns or any additional classes done in that time either. And of course, immediately afterwards I got hit with mad case of con crud that sapped me of all my remaining will power and I basically just rolled around on the floor clutching tissues and feeling sorry for myself. Boo. But anyway. The lack of movement already has me feeling sort of stir crazy, which I will deem life progress overall! And though I think this last week-ish sabotaged my letter grades, I'm proud of the new things I accomplished during it, and am planning to come back SUPER STRONG for the next challenge!! Thank you all for the encouragement and for always keeping me honest
  20. Hello all! Doing all right again this week! Still working on getting my protein levels up—I got up to 121g yesterday, which didn't quite work out to a 40-30-30 but was a high for me, at least since I've been keeping track! Thanks, giant steak. I also went to another new class, this one was beginner's Muay Thai/boxing! It was challenging but fun, as I was learning a lot of new stuff, and I kept up for the most part. It definitely seemed helpful to have done my at-home stuff, as I at least knew many of the basic moves and could anticipate the combos, and focus on using the teacher to check my form. My partner for the second half had about a foot and a half on me, so I got the bonus of having to do some extra high punches and kicks Oh, also realized VERY quickly during the jump rope warm up that my workout pants had gotten TOO BIG!! Haha. So I got some new ones over the weekend in a smaller size Whoo hooo for measurable progress! MISSION REPORT 3/16 - Day 20 Mission 1: Tracked food, stayed within goals Mission 2: yes Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/17 - Day 21 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/18 - Day 22 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/19 - Day 23 Mission 1: Tracked food, stayed within goals Mission 2: yes Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/20 - Day 24 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/21 - Day 25 Mission 1: no tracking Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/22 - Day 26 Mission 1: Tracked food, stayed within goals Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: YES class!
  21. Well, I think it's impressive that you kept at it for most of your challenges the whole week, even in the face of your setbacks. So maybe not overall improvement on your Graph of Awesomeness, but definitely something to proud of But here's to rocking this week at (hopefully) full power!!!
  22. Maybe someday!! The events look kinda fun (in a terrible way), but as of now I don't think I'd actually be able to run the 12 miles between them. But I'm putting it on the back burner for my badass future-self who will REALLY need a challenge... MISSION REPORT 3/13 - Day 17 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/14 - Day 18 Mission 1: Tracked food, stayed within goals INCLUDING SOME PIE (π) Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 3/15 - Day 19 Mission 1: Tracked food, stayed within goals Mission 2: yes Daily Burn Mission 3: no class All going really well with my food missions this challenge—if you'll notice, this is my SECOND weekend in a row of not only tracking (which is challenging enough) but also staying within my goals both days. ^___^ I am still working on getting my macros up to snuff, but improving in that regard as well. (40-30-30 still feels like I'm literally eating only protein, even though I know, logically, I'm not )
  23. MISSION REPORT 2/5 - Day 9 Mission 1: Tracked and stayed within goals Mission 2: yes Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/6 - Day 10 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/7 - Day 11 Mission 1: Tracked and stayed within goals Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/8 - Day 12 Mission 1: Tracked and stayed within goals (I think that's the first time in a while I stayed within goals for both days of the weekend!!) Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/9 - Day 13 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/10 - Day 14 Mission 1: Tracked and stayed within goals Mission 2: yes Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/11 - Day 15 Mission 1: Tracked food Mission 2: no Daily Burn Mission 3: no class MISSION REPORT 2/12 - Day 16 Mission 1: Tracked and stayed within goals Mission 2: yes Daily Burn Mission 3: no class Kind of fell off the class wagon, but I've been doing very well on my tracking/food goals and trying to keep up with my at-home practices. The beginner's Muay Thai class I had planned to go to ended up getting cancelled for last week as well as this coming weekend—don't these people know I need structure?! BUT I officially on the books for their class next week. I should have checked their schedule before allowing the fitness-y boxing class I went to last week to whiz past me—I guess that's a good thing to keep in mind for the future! I suppose I'll have to go back to the fitness-y boxing class this coming week to sort of get back on schedule Anyway, even without the classes I've seen a lot of progress—officially in the 10+ lbs. lost club and more coming off as I'm getting better about tracking and staying on goal on weekends and in social situations. On 2/6 above ^ I was at an almost all-day school event that was catered, and also included going out to a bar with appetizers that just kept coming. I had a couple bites, which were awesome, but also awesome was that I didn't feel the need to eat a whole plate of french fries! I counted my tracking as over since I wasn't exactly sure what was in all the food, but I did at least make an attempt at tracking restaurant food AND didn't just eat whatever, which is progress! Also, I thought it was funny—at some point my targeted YouTube ads have gone from "you wanna just wanna lose weight fast, don't ya? take this new pill, that's all!" to "ENROLL IN A TOUGH MUDDER RACE TODAY, YOU ABSOLUTE BEAST! RAWR!" I have you all to thank for that, I think
