  1. I'm not gonna stress about the muscle ups. I'll be happy to make it halfway through the double unders.
  2. 57. I'm happy with this. Wished I'd pushed just a little harder to get 60, but I'm more than happy enough with 57 right now.
  3. 73. Set out with a goal of 70, so I'll take it. Good job everybody!
  4. I'm in. I thought I wasn't going to be able to as money is tight(first kid on the way), but somebody from my box wanted me in. No idea who, but I love my fellow crossfitters! The only reason I would want to know who did it is so I would know who to blame for this upcoming burpee hell. Oh well, I'm in! http://games.crossfit.com/athlete/66753
  5. Dropkicks, Flogging Molly, Tossers, some electronic, alternative rock(AWOLnation and others), then I mostly pick and choose songs. Some Tool, some Nick Cave, and mid to late 90's and early 2000's. I can also get down with some rap.
  6. Go for it. I couldn't do many push ups, still can't do pull ups without a band assist, and my running is getting better, but still not great. I've been doing it for two months, and have seen great improvements. Every workout is scale-able to your fitness level, so their is no reason to me to put it off. The easiest way to be in better shape in a couple months is do work towards it now. I'm loving it, and I think and hope you will too!
  7. 'ello again! Haven't been around as much as I'd like, but I have been logging workouts on my fitocracy. You can find me there at www.fitocracy.com/profile/seripth/ Weighed in last week(birthday week) at 273. Went a little overboard, but thoroughly enjoyed myself. Weighed in yesterday and back on track, down to 268. Now, Thanksgiving! Random notes: Crossfit is awesome. Chocolate coconut milk as my recovery drink - double awesome! Also, I am awesome! One month to go, 8 pounds to lose. I totally got this.
  8. Okay. Been gone for a bit, I'm back now! Haven't weighed myself since last Friday. Plan on a weigh in tomorrow. Tuesday 11-15 Crossfit! KB swings and ring rows(inverted body weight rows) WOD: Amrap of 8 KB swings, 8 rows. Completed 7 rounds using 35# kb for 4 rounds, 50# kb for 2.5 rounds, then back to 35# for 3 swings. Wednesday 11-16 Crossfit Strongman Clinic Learned how to flip logs, flip tires, lift a keg, atlas stone to shoulder. Mini-WOD: Max reps - flip tire, bow jumps, 20 sec each. Got 7 flips, 11 jumps. Mini-WOD: Tabata intervals: atlas stone to shoulder. 4 rounds. Completed 4 reps each round with 95# stone. WOD: Log sprints - 75m Log flip - 5 with the big one (no idea of weight...heavy, tho) Tire flips - 10 Box jumps - 10 Keg push press - 5 with the weighted one Atlas stone to shoulder - 5 w/ 95# stone Burpees - 15 Was super fun. And got super sweaty and dirty. Loved it!
  9. Friday weigh in: 268 No running in the morning, hung out with friends a little too late last night. Had a lot of fun, tho! And was happy to see that my weight is still going down. Either going to run with my roommate in the morning, or going to do the NF body weight circuit.
  10. Warm up 500m row 10 sit ups 10 air squats Practice 10reps 35lbs snatch WOD Three rounds for time 250m Row 10 Power snatch Finished in 7:30
  11. Ran 1.5 miles in 20:04! A whole 12 seconds faster! Weigh in: 269.5 - halfway to my Christmas goal of 260, and it's not even halfway to Christmas! This is looking more and more real by the day! Now, off to shower and eat something before work. Tomorrow: Crossfit - The snatch and Burgener Warm-up Friday: Run 1.5 miles and weigh in.
  12. Crossfit today! Practicing deadlifts and the rowing machine. Roughly 45 deadlifts with 35lbs. WOD: 500m row, 25 air squats. Completed in 2min 57sec. Didn't take into account the squats, so pushed myself a little too hard on the rowing machine. Made squats tough. Got through 'em, tho. Weigh in tomorrow, and running 1.5 miles before work.
  13. Good morning! Just got back from my first run! Well, to be fair, it was more like a first jogging alternated with walking, but I finished my goal of 1.5 miles! And in only 20min 16 sec! I'm pretty happy with that. Not happy with missing my workout Saturday, but it happens. I moved on and hit the pavement this morning. Small victories! I tried to get my roommates to go with me this morning, but they were digging on the sleeping idea. Maybe next time, they say. Who knows? Not me. All I know is that I can't hold myself accountable for their health, nor let their wanting to sleep keep me from attaining my health goals. Goals for this week: Run(or jog or walk) on Wednesday and Friday, and go to my Crossfit on ramp courses on Tuesday and Thursday. I know that I will make the crossfit classes(great thing about paying for something-absolutely no point in skipping it), so the challenge will be getting my butt out of bed to go running before work. One day down, two more to go. Easy Peasy. Weigh In: 273...darn weekends, lol
  14. These are pretty delicious. I wasn't able to find almond or oat flour at the store, so I threw some almonds in the blender and made my own flour. Then I used some milled flaxseed that I had and threw it in to the blender to break it down a little. I made it into 8 patty's, and it worked out well. Just a note for people wanting to use this for burgers, make the patty's thin before you cook them, as they will not shrink down when you cook them. I used the couple that I had left over for eggs in a basket this morning, cooked in butter. It was amazing! Definitely going to use this recipe again, and will probably make them thinner. Thanks for this recipe, maisigh!
  15. Weigh in - 272 Crossfit yesterday was a lot of fun! We worked on the press, push press, and push jerk. I did pretty well with my form. Downside: T-rexing it today. My arms were still sore from Tuesday, and now they don't want to bend. Time to get out the ice! Still going to do the NF BBWW on Saturday, just might have to skip the push ups and rows. All depends on if my arms are working or not. Tomorrow: NF BBWW Monday: Weigh in Tuesday: Crossfit On Ramp Class 3 - Deadlifts and Concept 2 Rower
  16. Weigh in this morning - 275. Go me! Past 2.5 days been switching my diet to about 80% paleo, so I know a lot of the initial weight loss is going to be from lack of bread and bread type foods that insist on holding water and just generally taking up space. Shoulders are still sore from crossfit on Tuesday, but super excited to go back tomorrow! I'll let everyone here know how that goes sometime tomorrow night. Tomorrow: Crossfit On Ramp Class 2 - www.crossfitoceanislebeach.com/index.php/get-started/on-ramp/ Friday: Weigh In Saturday: NF Beginner Body Weight Workout
  17. Sorry to revive a thread, but wondering if anybody has an invite for fitocracy that they can spare?
  18. No exercise yesterday. Combination of not wanting to kill myself before crossfit today and fail. But mostly fail. Anyways, went to my first crossfit on ramp course tonight. It was fun, and kicked my butt a little. Push ups and I do not get along very well, and we met in force tonight. Talk about jelly arms! But I made it through tonights class, and finished the brief WOD that they gave us. So I say it was a win! One step closer to winning the Battle!
  19. Don't know if this with fit in with your dietary followings, but it is delicious. www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Quick-Kale-with-Bacon-104041 I don't season with salt and pepper at the end, and IMO it doesn't need it. Hope you can try this!
  20. NF BBWW 10-29 Completed 2 circuits in 9min...No excuses. First circuit: Push ups - 10 from the floor. Rows - 10 w/ 41lb Second circuit: Push ups - 15, on floor from knees. Rows - Same as round one. Notes: Low to moderately winded during second circuit. Moderately winded at end of second circuit. Recovery coming quicker still. Music: LostProphets - The Fake Sound Of Progress Current weight: 279 Goals for next time: Get motivated and post a quicker time!
  21. Starting pictures have been uploaded. 2 hours late, but I got 'em up.
  22. NF BBWW 10-27 Completed 2 circuits in 7min 47sec First circuit: Push ups - 10 from the floor! Rows - 10 w/ 35lb kettlebell. Second circuit: Push ups - 5, then a 3 second cat stretch, and finished the other 5 push ups. Rows - Same as round one. Notes: Didn't realize my legs were sore until I started the lunges. That was a fun realization. Low to moderately winded during second circuit. Moderately winded at end of second circuit. Recovery coming much quicker. Music: The Creepshow - Sell Your Soul Current weight: 280 Goals for next time(s): Stay with two circuits so as to not kill my legs before the Crossfit On-ramp. Quicker time, less panting.
  23. Took a big step today....signed up for the on-ramp course at my local Crossfit. Eight classes over four weeks, and then I'll see where I am. I've joined gyms in the past, but this time was a big investment for me. I'm still going to keep up with my NFBW exercises through this week and next Monday, and see how I feel after Crossfit on Tuesday. I'm going to take a notepad with me to Crossfit so's I can take notes and keep my Battle Log updated. Mostly excited, and a little nervous. Serenity Valley will be ours!
  24. NF BBWW 10-25 Completed 2 circuits in 8min 7sec First circuit: Push ups - 10 w/ hands on couch, feet on floor. About 2ft high couch. Rows - 10 w/ 35lb kettlebell. Second circuit: Push ups - Same as round one. Rows - Same as round one. Notes: Legs kinda sore at the start from squats and lunges on Sunday. Not as bad as last time. Low to moderately winded during second circuit. Moderately winded at end of second circuit. Yay! Music: Adam WarRock & Mikal kHill - The Browncoats Remix Current weight: 281 Goals for next time(s): Quicker time on Thor's Day, add 3rd circuit on Saturday.
  25. Castle is great fun! Been following it since about three episodes in. I loved his Halloween costume, Space Cowboy. I got out of the habit of checking Tee Fury, and now I regret it! That shirts sounds super cool. When you wear your sidearm, be sure to wear it low :-)
