I'm not dead yet!! I feeeeel happy So the thing is I updated my ipad's "tapatalk" app which is how i usually follow message boards. The app made it quick and easy to pop in for a quick update and scan the things i'm following. Unfortunately, the update BROKE THE WORLD. Pretty much everyone that used the app has a gigantic hate on for it right now. I'm really hoping the vendor updates because its almost unusable. So I've been telling myself for days that "Oh, I'll log in at work and update!". Buuuut as usual work is busy busy busy so not alot of opporutnity here this week. I will say that I've kept on track with the food logging and NOOOO fast food/pizza. Last night I had mega insomnia and at 3AM I wanted nothing in this world so much as to drive through McD's and get a kids happy meal and a large fountain soda. I did it! Viva la Resistance!!! I did flake out one night this week on my 10minute daily minimum walk. It was Tuesday night. Over the weekend I had hit the trails pretty hard (well, for me anyway) and on Tues I was cold and just achey. I couldn't get my lumps off the couch and even circle the parking lot I felt bad but you know, it is what it is. The next day I was super active and got my goal steps in. ALSO like you were saying my friends, the first week scale non-movement was really made up for on the second week. I went from not budging (less than a pound) to last week I lost almost 3 lbs. This week I'm looking on track for another pound or two. While this pleases me, I have to say I really am focused on hitting my challenges and creating healthy and sustainable habits which help contribute to weight loss. They might be baby steps, but they are baby steps in the right direction! I need to check in on the juice bar and see what this weeks quest is and then hit my peeps boards to check in and see how folks are doing

Okie dokie. Very pleased to be posting hangover free this morning!! My heart-sis came up yesterday with her boyfriend and we went wine tasting. I was darn tickled with myself this morning to note I kept the presence of mind to log all of my food/wine in MFP. I admit, I was pretty tempted to just call it a "free" day. But I decided that was the precise reason my challenge was "log food" and not "eat like a saint". The point was to be mindful and own my decisions and that's what I did. I'm ridiculously proud of myself! All in all week one was a success. I definitely see an uptick in my steps walked (fitbit). I logged all my food with no junk/fast food. I was mightily tempted a few times to bail but I stuck with it. I'm also pretty darn happy this week with meeting my challenges. SO - the scale itself didn't budge. I'm down less than 1lb and even that could be water fluctuation. Still, I deliberately took steps in the right direction toward health and happiness so I'm calling Week One a success! Week two - I'm going to bust out the measuring tape and actually record where I am... I know from a reading a lot of other rebels stories that having a quantitative metric that you can track in addition to the scale is super helpful.

Week one ... I lost less than 1lb. Not a great scale week but I nailed my goals -- EVEN through some out of schedule work events and a day of wine tasting. I'm calling this week a success as I made healthier, sustainable lifestyle choices and I feel happy. F* the scale for now. -

Today was great! Planning hugely contributed to my success. I woke up pre-dawn with MEGA MUNCHIES. Thank the gods my innate laziness, warm bed and cold morning persuaded me from getting up and eating all the food. Carried on with my normal brekky plan, ate reasonably for lunch. At dinner I had some "spare calories" to go and I opted for more actual food rather than the cocktail i really wanted. Also nailed my step/walk goal for the day woohoo! I'm so happy it gets a little brighter for longer each day!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

My problem is I live right near sonoma/napa so I have friends coming up a few times a month to go winery hopping. Try to be good during the week and hope the averages work out heheh Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rock it out! Sounds like a solid plan. I too eat better during the work week. Not as much time to indulge the random munchies. Sweet, sweet alone bliss time with a game!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Is that... could that possibly be... a NEGATIVE sign in front of the 40?!? Are you kidding?!?! Do you have to do jumping jacks while you sleep just so your heart doesn't freeze? --- The non-supportive loved ones are a challenge. Staci has had a couple of good posts for strategies. My favorite one that kind of shuts the questions/skepticism pretty fast is to spin some kind of "this is on the advice of my physician" tale.

Hokey Pokey Did the do - Had the wobble with the cookie incident, but managed to not turn into Updated my first post with the rebel mini quest 1 updates Tomorrow is going to be a little challenging as I have a class to go to for work... 4 hours (1500-1900). There will be snacks and stuff there so I'm going to try to fill up with a late lunch before I head over.

ZORMGAHHHHH - Went to Panera bread for a soup and sammy lunch. Totally reasonable in my goals etc. Ever so friendly(evil) manager comes around giving giant chocolate cookies out in apology for slight delay with our order. Cookie immediately pushes every button I have (mid-day stress eating, smell, CHOCOLATE). I had to mine the depths of my soul to come up with enough willpower to split the thing in half and give the other half to a coworker.

These goals are fantastico! No processed food typically means a big time commitment to food prep. Thoughts about how to handle that? It's something I know I'm in the baby steps of learning to deal with. I had to giggle on the lifequest "F" grade. Been there, done that! If you get an A in lifequest 2 then I will personally hold you in awe. That's an epic endeavor! Following from the "misc" accountibilibudies

OK Team Shezam! I took your advice and after dinner I made myself a big pan of lardons, sautéed onions and spinach, and scrambled eggs. Divided it up into snack baggies and plan on taking one a day to work. This was a great super tasty brekky! Also pretty much my most paleo meal of the day hehe. Made a boatload of pasta e fagioli for dinner tonight so will take some into work tomorrow for lunch. Made the tons-o-veggie version with fennel, celery, kale, onlions. YUMMY Tracked food with MPF.... I really like that the iphone app pops up and says "you haven't logged your lunch yet. Would you like to do that now?" Why YES, Yes I would Mr. Fancypants! Someone brought in the giant Harry & David tower o stuff-I-shouldn't-eat. I had TWO of my fav chocoloate covered cherries then passed on the rest. So happy to have the willpower to say no Did my mini-walk today even UP a hellacious hill by my townhouse. WOOT WOOT!!
