Main Quest To max the Army Physical Fitness Test in sit ups, push ups, and a 2 mile run while maintaining current muscle mass Side Quest 1. Do 100 push ups and sit ups a night and increase by 25-50 each week 2. Run intervals a 6:15 pace or run for at least 20 min at 7 min pace 3. Avoid all unnecessary foods while maintaining a balanced nutrition plan with limited resources Motivation As a new member of the US Army, I want to perform at my peak potential and no waste the opportunity I have been given to serve. In order to lead by example, I must push myself and discipline myself to a standard that I expect others to follow. I won't be able to pop in and update my post but I hope that when I finish basic training at the end of the six weeks, I will be able to give a successful summary about my efforts here

EDIT: To clarify, I am a former power lifter that is trying to make the Physical Fitness test in the army. The test involves 2 min of push ups, 2 min I sit ups, and a 2 mile run. I would also like to maintain as much muscle as I can despite lacking adequate nutrition for standard body maintenance. I have no former injuries that prevent me from training and have an intermediate knowledge of general fitness

I'm currently attending basic training for the army and had a terrible holiday break where I lost many of the improvements/discipline I had gained. As I return to training on Monday, I want to join the 6 week challenge for the rest of my training. What workouts could I do to improve my sit ups and push ups while maintaining as much muscle mass as I can. My nutrition is severely restricted but some general guidelines would be much appreciated. For exercises, I only have one floor mats worth of space and a makeshift pull up bar. I am also additionally limited by the standard training that the army had for me on a daily basis. I'm looking for an effective workout that I can cram into a hour or less that will allow me to adjust to a bodyweight athlete instead of a powerliffter
