  1. Monday's workout: 6 deadliest high pulls w/ 15 lb dumbells 6 squat cleans w/ 10 lb dumbells 6 side lunges (each leg), hold 10 lb dumbells 6 lunges w/ press up w/ 10 lb dumbbells x6
  2. I've done two bodyweight workouts and one interval running workouts in the past three days, here they are: Tuesday: x5 Gecko move across the floor twice (move opposite hand and opposite foot simultaneously and stay close to the floor) 50 jumping jacks 10 pushups (tried archer's pushups...umm I need to perfect regular pushups first!) 12 squat jumps Wednesday: Intervals. Didn't write down the workout, but went something like this 30 Sec @ 70% 15 sec @ 30% x8 5 mins @ 70% 15 Sec @ 100% 45 sec @ 30% 5 Mins @ 70% Today (Thursday): x6 Handstand for 30 seconds (with only one foot lightly touching the wall!) Planks- 40 seconds 10 pushups 40 Tuck jumps Feeling good! Have lost ~ 6 lbs since the challenge began and am keeping up with my strength training! I've been enjoying learning new bodyweight exercises, too.
  3. Thanks for the encouragement, Blaidd! Yesterday I had a slight tummy bug, but was feeling good today and did a body weight circuit Interspersed with helping the family clean. 4 sets of Handstand (feet against wall), 30 seconds 30 tuck jumps 12 chair dips, legs extended 12 body weight deep squats.

Cleaning gets in lots of steps, too! The fun game of putting everyone's stuff away really makes you move! I,also take little steps in place when I am prepping dinner, and I try to stand and March in place when I. Readimg on my iPad (I am sitting in bed at the moment, though!). I try to take the more active route where possible. You could borrow the little one if dirty diapers are your thing
  5. Congrats on the tomatoes! I love how organized your workout log is. I'm also inspired to try some of the exceeds es you've been doing. I too workout at home (or at the park, as I did today!) Keep it up!
  6. My other little one had a Tummy bug so we didn't go to workout group I also let my toddler talk me into buying Graham crackers for her...and well i ate too many. BUT I did redeem myself when I did a body weight workout at the park later in the day. I watched a few videos in YouTube, and man some of those workouts are harder than they look! (Hence they were advanced body weight workouts, I,suppose..). I think the channel was Calisthenics Movement. My workout X3 Skin the cat- too chicken to attempt, did a running jump, swung on monkey bars than leapt off instead (a kipping?) 12 "shrimp" squats/leg (hold one leg as if you're stretching your quadriceps) 10 body rows- I haven't found anywhere in my house to do this, so was excited that I could at the park. 12 pike thingies- put my feet on a swing, hands on ground, and brought my feet forward while hands were stationary. 10 dips on staircase banister. SOO these are a lot harder than bench dips, I barely "dipped" at all! Wondering if I should stick with bench dips? 8 reverse pull-ups - stood on the top step be.ow the monkey bars, started with my chin at the bar, let my feet go, and basically fell down! Tried to be as controlled as possible.... But I have a long way to go I'm defintely a beginnger at these workouts, but it was getting dark, there was ice in the mulch and I got my hands dirty (literally) so I felt pretty hard core
  7. I had a good workout yesterday- x6 8 bench press w/ 15 lb dumbells 8 planks using 15 lb dumbells 20 burpees (!) without pushups. today I didn't workout- snow day and not feeling too hot. Although I did do 40 archers moves (that I saw in the assassins forum). My downfall today was making pumpkin oatmeal- it's so easy to overeat carbs!! Ergh, oh well. Made up for it with nutritional garlic soup tonight.

I definitely second (third?) using babies as weights! My 20 lb 11 month old loves being a "weight" when I do a swing (not sure how to describe it- I hold him at the shoulders, bend down and thrust him up to the ceiling!) I "carried" my little boy when he was younger but he got pretty heavy very quickly. I haven't tried carrying him on my back now that he can support himself, but I might try it. I have a sit and stand double stroller, and that's the easiest way for me to walk with them (I also have a 2 and half year old girl). Reyna- RE: walking 200 miles, why not get a pedometer or a step counting app on your phone? That way you don't have to feel like "I have to take 20 mins to JUST walk a mile right now." With a pedometer you will see how much you are walking throughout the day and you will be motivated to take more steps! E.G. I am standing at my computer desk right now (keyboard is on a shoebox) and shift my weight/take a step every few seconds. 10,000 steps is 5 miles. Whaddya think?
  9. I found my notes from Saturday's workout. It was a body weight workout (BWW?) that I cobbled together after reading a post or two in these forums. Bridge- held for 60 seconds 15 chair dips one-legged squats, 7/leg (was holding wall...) hand stand w/ legs against wall for 30 seconds (my little one crawled up to nuzzle my hair!!) 10 improvised pullups at the foot of my bed (read: not real pull-ups!) x6 definitely not the most challenging workout for some, but I felt pretty hard core, especially doing the hand-stands! I have some dumbbells (10 lbs and 15 lbs) that I bring with me when I meet some mom's in my church gym to workout (one of the ladies posts some workouts she's subscribed to, and they usually involve weights), but I do really like body weight workouts! Would love to be able to knock out 20 pushups no problem (can only do 10 right now, and at the end it's a struggle) and doing a pull-up would be a dream! Am currently looking for a pull-up bar.
  10. the past few days have been pretty good! I completed 4 strength workouts last week and did one today. I've been eating pretty well. The only treats i"ve had (besides apples and almond butter!) are air-popped popcorn, and one small hot chocolate with the family. I even went to a potluck and had NO bread or desserts! Just pulled pork and veggies and some brown rice. Very proud I've forgotten the deets for all of my workouts, but here are a sampling from what I can remember. If I recall more specifics, I'll posst them later. Workout #1 x6 10 Burpees (kick-outs, but no pushups) 9 (real) pushups 45 second plank 20 second hand stand Workout #2 x6 8 Squat press-ups with 10 lb dumb bells 30 rows with stretchy band thing (to simulate pull-ups) 8 backward lunges with one-arm press up (with 10 lb dumbbell)
  11. Thanks for the encouragement! Melnaux- good tips to use MyFitPal (I actually have a dormant account), and to be more mindful of what I eat- apples dipped in almond butter are my favorite treat, but it IS possible to over do it! Mickey18- I don't sit a whole lot, but it's surprisingly easy/tempting to just lay down with the kids, so gotta be more active!
  12. Hi Cataclysmia, good luck with your goals! That's awesome you've joined a gym and this challenge hopefully they help! If your not able to go to the gym one day, Steve Kamb has an awesome Beginner's Body Weight Routine on YouTube
  13. Good luck, Mickey! Relieving stress is defintely great motivation. Hopefully as your able to work on your goals some peace will come . I, too am trying to be more organized, and I've found these saying to be helpful "Don't leave until tomorrow that which you can do today" md "if it takes less than one minute to do, do it now. (E.g. Put your jacket away, write down a deadline, etc).
  14. 4 pull-ups is an awesome goal! I'm working on being able to do one That's great you're using with such fun hobbies. The transition to no longer being a university student can be tough (I know it was for me). Good luck!
  15. Good luck with your challenge! The university => full-time job was a hard one for me, too. But that's your starting to work on things and walk to work! Since you walk so much, mayb would help as motivation because you'd see he steps pile up. As for the BBWW circuit, I alwats consider it a big success to complete 3 circuits. And 2 is nothing to snuff at, good on ya!
