  1. Been a while since I got on these forums, really should do that more often. I plateaued for a bit, struggling. Going to try something new and respawn!

  2. Finally got my laptop back! I feel so behind on everything. Ah well, I'm down 28 pounds so far now!

  3. I'm doing alright! Really making progress on my workouts (more reps)! I've convinced myself to walk when it's snowing, but still having issues when it's nasty bitter cold out. Diet-wise I'm still sticking with cutting back on bread, dairy, and sugars so that's a good sign! I'm hoping to see some changes soon
  4. 1-23 (well...at 1 AM lol) update! Achieved 12 squats, 30 crunches, 30 dumbbell rows, 20 jumping jacks, 20 shoulder presses, 26 tricep kickbacks, 20 bicep curls, 20 lateral raises, 20 bent over rows, 20 lunges, and 20 standing side bends...except by the time I got to the side bends and the circuit they were in, I couldn't stand anymore, so they were sitting side bends lol So, that's 8 more squats, 30/20 more rows, 16 more kickbacks, and 10 more lunges than when i started!
  5. Just a bit over a week ago I could only do 4 squats...just did 12! Proud :D

beginners gains are AWESOME! just last week I couldn't do 6 push-ups in a row, now I'm on 11. (Gotta get to 25 to do what the crossfit instructor wants me to do)

It's awesome to see the process! Numbers tell alot. Good job!

Thank you everyone! <3 It's stuff like this that keeps me going :D Push-ups can be brutal, I'm still finding it hard to do those, but I'll get there and so will you!

  6. I was thinking about cross country skiing next year, there's a few places for that around here. Snowshoes are expensive, but so worth it if you ask me! I do a good bit of stretching and I try to trudge around outside when it's not in the -20 range or lower, couldn't do my workout last night (spent all day hauling boards around and just generally felt tired and sore) so I went for a walk...tonight I'll do the exercises instead Those wraps look good, I tend to go through tortillas a lot (I make outstanding fajitas and quesadillas) and I'd need SOMETHING to hold it all together! I'll send that link to my mother in the states, I'm sure she can ship some up here! That cheese thing sounds amazing lol
  7. Hi there! Welcome I'm from Indy as well (though I moved to Canada...buh). Good luck with your marathons! You can do it!
  8. Sunny day is deceptively cold! Yikes!

See? Mother Nature *does* have a sense of humor after all. Just not a nice one. ;)

If it's not bitter cold, it's snowing. She's not very nice at all! :)

  9. I just got started on this and I have some crazy cravings for sugar still. It doesn't help that there's still some things like Girl Scout cookies in the house. I'm working on it, but I can't bring myself to throw them out as my parents brought them up for me from the states and they just feel special. I'm doing well without coffee though, I ask myself "Do I really need this caffiene right now? Am I tired? Do I need this much sugar in my coffee? What's it like WITH LESS? *gasp*". Most of my bread has been reduced to just tortillas, and only sometimes. I still find myself attempting to order a normal sandwich when I go places...which I still do, but I pick most of the bread to pieces like a crazed seagull. I find that I'm struggling still, but if I allow myself some of the things I am craving, in much smaller quantities, I can try to wean myself away from it or find substitutes. I also drink soooo much water. I feel like a fish.
  10. I had a similar problem with gluten free spaghetti the other night (I'm testing out new options for pasta since my husband won't give it up, likes to cook, and hates spaghetti squash), I'd love to know as well!
  11. Monday Jan 19th! Checking in...so far I have been able to maintain my workout schedule of Mon, Wed, and Friday, but the weather is hindering me from my walking, so instead I'm walking for 5 mins around my little kitchen and up and down the stairs on my off days. Healthy meals are doing great! Still not quite free of bread and dairy, but sugars have pretty much gone out the window, esp candy, etc. Looking for paleo options to make tortillas as it seems those will be impossible for me to give up. Drinking nothing but water and tea at home and inserting sweet potatoes into my beef stew (omg so good)! I feel great, though I also feel like I should be doing more? As though I'm not giving it my all because I still spend much of my time on the loveseat...with nowhere really to go because I don't live in a city or even a town, just a 4 street village in the snow >.<
  12. Oh my goodness I didn't even get a notification on this chat! >.< Thank you for the watch and the awesomeness! <3 Checking in right now! I feel so silly for not updating this post! Pounds are crazy to track, mine never seem to move, however the measuring tape doesn't lie!
  13. Got thoroughly whipped by the circuit workout my sister made up for me. Whew! Doesn't help that legs are still sore from workout on Friday.

The DOMS does go away, I promise! Looks like you've gone for the active recovery option, good stuff ;-)

      I'm fighting through it! I'll get better, I know I will :D

  14. We're quite similar then! My husky...uh...mutt...thing (pure white fur, sort of looks like a shepherd cross, shelter dog) is about 60 lbs and is all about dragging me into snowbanks and ditches whenever she can lol I've got a long way to go before running, but jogging is getting close to doable if I alternate with walking! Husband is not giving up his sugar for anything, but I'm still at it! I find it hard to be good myself with him just doing whatever he wants. Just too tempting for me to do things I shouldn't and he could use to lose a couple of pounds himself. I have a Wii my mother was nice enough to give to me (she couldn't figure out how to set it up and just kind of gave up on it), but I have no games for it. I wish I had a kinect, I love to dance!
  15. Replaced potatoes with sweet potatoes in my beef stew recipe...was skeptical, but they're SO MUCH BETTER! Wow! I'm sticking to that!
