  1. yesterday i ate my calories and my fruits/veggies but didnt workout cause my wife and i both needed new phones plus i had to renew my car registration so we were out of the house almost all day
  2. So we've entered the last week of this challenge and I just realized I didnt post for a week. in case you're wondering why well thats because I failed miserably. So I'm gonna finish this challenge strong and just try harder next time. As well as I'll be continuing to work hard even without the challenge. So today and yesterday I ate my calories and fruits/veggies. I just finished my workout. Two advanced bodyweight sets completed!!! So I've improved and I'm moving forward but it is hard and I've fallen a couple times.

    I settled on a premade protien shake (not like protien powder but like a milkshake or chocolate milk thing) and some granola crisps for breakfast. It gives me 650 calories with a good balance of protein, fat, and carbs.
  4. I've been doing the beginners bodyweight routine as a warm up. Just one set. Then I do one or two sets of the advanced bodyweight routine. That's done at least three times a week

    I would prefer calories from protein since I'm trying to gain muscle weight. But some carbs or fat would be alright.

    Hello So I'm currently trying to gain weight. Its actually going really well. I've gained about 5ish pounds in two or three weeks. I've been eating 3500 calories a day, working out a few times a week. Problem. I'm sick of breakfast burritos!!! I was eatig oatmeal for a while but that gave me really bad gas. Then i start eating eggs with sausage and jalapenos as a breakfast burrito. But I'm tired of eating that. Anyone have a good suggestion for a breakfast that is easy to make but ends up being around 400-600 ish calories?
  7. yesterday i acheived my quest of eating my calories and fruits/vegetables. i also was able to get a workout in. I did notice tat after missing so many days of working out my body did not want to start again. Hopefully another workout today
  8. so yesterday i was able to eat my calories and other food goals. however my wife and i had to go grocery shopping so i did not get a workout at home. but we had command PT where they had us doing circuits of 25pushups, 25squats, and 25situps. we did three sets so i got some kind of workout. However in even bigger news. I weighed myself yesterday morning and today. I weigh 139.8lbs which is up from the 136/137 of last week!!! for the first time in like five years I'm gaining weiight!!! I might be able to get to my goal of 150lbs before i go underway. which would be great cause then i could workout underway doing isolation to just get stronger.
  9. ok so the Ren Faire yesterday was super fun. Ate lots of good food and really enjoyed myself. My oldest daughter got a pet "Dragon" (lizard) which she named Toothless (if you don't get that reference you don't belong on nerd fitness lol). I was easily able to eat my calories as well as my vegetables and fruits. today i stayed at home with my youngest child while my wife took the older to buy new clothes. She's five so this was the first time she ever got to go to the mall and pick whateer clothes she wanted. She picked alot of cute stuff. I ate peanut butter and crackers for most of the day plus three meals so plenty of calories. No workout on either day though.
  10. ok so thursday i was unable to get my calories or workout because we went out to dinner and i got drunk lol. Turns out when you only weigh 135lbs you get drunk easily. Yesterday though I did get my calories but had too much stuff to do to workout. also im pretty sore. but i was playing with my youngest daughter, tossing her in the air, and realized that i am getting stronger. technically you could say i did cardio on thursday since me and the two girls went to the park for an hour where i chased them around. today im going to a renessaince festival which should be super fun. i should have no problem getting all my calories(TURKEY LEGS!!!)
  11. Thanks marissa for the advice. Funnily enough being in the navy means I go to work with lots of guys who love to worm out. I talked to my XO (second in command under the captain). He said that he also had the same pain when he started. He showed me some different stretches(in his office actually lol) which helped a lot. To make today even better instead of normal command PT (physical training) we did self PT. So I did one set of my body weight routine. Then I did another set today after dinner. So a good workout day. I also met all my eating goals. So great day and no more knee pain after using my new stretch.
  12. So before eating dinner I ate 3500 calories. So I met my calories and my fruit/veggie goal. However when I went to workout my knees started killing me. And it feels like joint not muscle pain. So I had to stop my leg excersices. And then my upper body excersices I'm not able to do. Like I have no strength. And to make today even better, I weighed myself again today. Back to 135lbs. So I'm kinda discouraged but not giving up. I've given up before and that doesn't accomplish anything. I didn't start this for fast results. I started this for permanent life changes. Also work today sucked. Sick of getting chewed out for doing my job when my bosses can't decide what they want.
  13. So I'm not gonna reach my calorie goal today. I'm 1000 calories away and just not hungry anymore. Once my dinner settles I'm gonna start my workout but even with my post workout eating I'm still not gonna down 1000 calories. But I ate my fruits/veggies today and I'm about to start my work out. So a mostly successful day. I'm super optimistic about everything.

  15. So i checked out the body weight routines on the blog. I did the beginnners routine last monday and it seemed too easy even for me. So after completing three sets on my first day I decided to do the advanced. Wednesday and Saturday I did one set. Yesterday I was able to do two. I have to do negatives for most of the chinups and pull ups but the number of real reps I can do is increasing. I'm using one set of the beginnners routine as my warm up for the advanced routine. That seems to be working great. I getting better at the routine and I'm actually showing signs of gaining a few pounds which is what I wanted. So thank you to everyone who gave me tips.
