  1. Yesterday I finally decided to go shopping since, you know, it's almost summer and it's about time I finally bought some new clothes. In December I wore size XL (44/42) and sometimes I couldn't even fit into those (in Poland it's very difficult to find size XXL or larger). Well, the clothes I bought yesterday are all S (36) or M (38)! I'm so proud of myself. It's been difficult for me to notice any differences in my body, but this is just the proof I needed that I'm kicking lots of ass.
  2. Woah, DC's Legends of Tomorrow looks great. Can't wait until January!

  3. I'm here, you guys! I am so, so sorry about being absent. My matura exams (the exams at the end of high school) have started last week and I've been spending 97% of time studying and/or freaking out. There's only one more left on Friday and then I am finally free. I've been sticking to Paleo, but my workouts last week were pretty crappy (and rare), so I'm hoping to make it all up once I'm done with all of this. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed for me on Friday and I promise to write a long, detailed recap of the past 2 weeks during the weekend! Take care of yourselves, you nerds.
  4. I always get SUPER snacky 1-2 days before my period begins (it usually wears off after the first day). Not even specifically for chocolate; just food in general (although chocolate is absolutely included). My cramps are pretty mild, I don't really have bad back or get emotional about everything, but the food craving is the worst. I try to drink a lot of tea and occupy myself with chores, but it's still a pain in the ass.
  5. I've just started watching Daredevil. It's a masterpiece. And Matt Murdock is now my favourite superhero.

I just watched season 1 of Daredevil - I really enjoyed it! Foggy was my favourite though - I don't really care that he's out of shape :-P

I watched it all within 24 hours. Amazing.

  6. And I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 1,000 more!

Have YOU had to walk 500 miles?

Were you advised to walk 500 more?

You could be entitled to compensation.

  7. Yesterday I made a frittata with tomatoes, sausage, and broccoli. Yum.
  8. Ugh, I really should write updates more often. Sorry, everyone! It got much better since Thursday. Actually, it even got better on Thursday; I was finally able to complete my first push up ever!! I know, I know, seems like a pathetic goal, but it was such a big deal to me. The rest of the week also went great. It's finally getting warm in Poland, so I took my bike for a ride on Saturday. Best feeling ever. I'm planning a biking trip with my friends in about two weeks. Oh, I've also gone back to deadlifting! Today is the first day and it went awesome. Taking that time off really payed off. I no longer feel stressed out or annoyed whenever I think about deadlifting. Yay, deadlifting! My matura exams start in a week, so I've been spending most of my day in my bed with books, but I still remember to do my workout everyday and eat properly. Kinda proud of myself, actually.
  9. Is frittata still okay if I don't bake it in the oven?

Yeah, I was talking about cooking it on the stove instead :) Just made it and it was delicious.

  10. Thank you so much! I still can't quite believe it. Just yesterday completing a pushup seemed like such an unreal goal. What's up, weakness? I'm currently working on my handstand; I can only do it against a wall right now, but I've made a lot of progress and I'm pretty optimistic about it. Plus, I'm slowly working my way into doing a pull up, but this one is definitely a long-term goal.
  11. I've just made a status about it but I'm so happy I could talk about this for hours. After 4 months of doing knees pushups, incline pushups, and wall pushups EVERY DAY, I've finally completed my first real pushup. My form was messy and I didn't go 100% way down, but I don't care (for now). I'm so proud of myself!! Watch out, chin up, I'm coming after you next.
  12. I've just completed my first pushup ever!!! It was messy and I didn't go all the way down, but after 4 months I finally did it!!!!

  13. Today has been crappy so far. I did some weightlifting but it went awful. I had everything planned and I was going to rock this thing out, but when I got to the gym I simply couldn't pick up some of the weights. I have no idea what I did wrong; all the weights I picked up on Monday seemed twice as heavy today. At one point the barbell actually fell onto my chest and now it hurts like hell. *Hawkeye voice* Today sucks.
  14. I had my most intense workout ever on Monday, but yesterday I wasn't even sore. Are my muscles getting used to lifting heavy things or did I do something wrong?

    1. Cohen

      Cohen

You are getting used to it. Soreness might come back if you start a new exercise.

DOMS usually show up 2 days later. It's a trap!

  15. Hey Targaryen, I won't be able to use a computer until Friday, thus that's when I'll post my results, but don't worry, my hunting skills are being put to a good use.
  16. I did 75 reps of squats during my weightlifting session today before seeing this. It appears I've already unintentionally hunted three quarters of a boar.
  17. Wow, totally forgot to post a recap of the first week. Shame on you, Alex! Anyway, week #1 was great. I have so much energy and plans and I feel so inspired. I did 120 lunges (my least favourite exercise), so that was fun. This week was successful for all of my quests, especially the Dig Quest. Yay weightlifting! Speaking of, today I finally checked my 1RM for squat and it's way heavier than I expected. I'll definitely have to readjust my lifting plans. I also did overhead press for the first time; super fun, although it's kinda painful and really, really difficult. I'm also considering going back to deadlifts; now that I've changed my attitude towards lifting, it might be good for me.
  18. Could someone add 50 lunges to my score? I'm on my phone so I can't do it myself.
  19. Thank you! It was super fun coming up with these. Parkour is absolutely on my bucket list. I just need some more confidence. What episode are you on? The latest ones will blow your mind. Haha, could be And damn right we there are! And, wow, comparing Polish to Klingon really puts the whole thing in perspective. That sounds really good and exactly like something I'd like to do. I'll definitely check out your workout logs and give this a try. Thank you so much! I'm so excited about finally moving to heavy stuff.
  20. Oh, man, I gotta get myself the first one. I'm a huge fan of Fraction's Hawkeye. I'd feel like a total badass just wearing this shirt. And my dorkiest stuff? Well, not sure if it's dorky, but I have this awesome T-shirt with Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl (it also says "women at work") which I like to wear when I work out. Kinda makes me feel like a superhero. I'll post a photo some time this weekend.
  21. Thanks so much! Basically, I would start at around 20% of RM, do 3 sets of 8 reps, and then move to heavier weights, but not heavier then, like, 60% of RM. I would try to add some sets of weight during each session, but basically my maximum lifted weight was the same. So I was stuck. I don't know, I guess for some reason I thought lots of reps and lighter weights will be good for me, but it only made me frustrated and discouraged. Today I had the first solid workout since February and I'm so glad I did. I'm gonna aim for way heavier weights now! (Sorry, I get super nerdy about languages) Russian is great! I talked to some native English speakers who'd tried to learn Polish and they said it was extremely difficult, and, well, Polish and Russian are really similar (they're both Slavic languages), so it's probably not the easiest language for you guys. Polish and Russian have very similar grammar and even vocabulary (but the alphabet is a pain in the ass); for example, you used the phrase "Ð’Ñего наилучшего" (all the best) pronounced like "vsego nailoochshego". In Polish it's "wszystkiego najlepszego", pronounced like "vshistkyego naylepshego", so it's close! (Sorry, I get super nerdy about languages!)
  22. I broke my personal squat record today! It's not that impressive of a weight, but it's a big deal for me.
  23. Broke my personal squat record. You go, Alex!

  24. DAY #4 Did some weighlifting once more. It was absolutely great. I realized something important: I need to lift more. Over the past weeks I was getting kinda frustrated with myself because l wasn't happy with my results so it made me feel like crap about myself. Now I know what I've been doing wrong: I lift too little. Instead of starting out with light weights and slowly moving onto heavier ones, I need to start with heavy stuff. There's no point in doing 3 sets of 8 reps with 20% of my RM. It's pointless and only tires me out. Today I lifted heavy weights, got sweaty, and broke a personal squat record. Yay me! Aside from weightlifting, the past 2 days have been generally fine as well. I've been sticking to Paleo and working out. It's going swell, fellas.
