  1. I am standing strong. I just told lululee that I am dealing with a knee injury from a hike (on the descent, those are always bad for the knees!). No surgery needed. Recovery time is minimal but there is pain. Sticking to my walking and anything else that helps. I'm still in the game! Thanks everyone for reaching out!
  2. We are totally similar. I tend to lose sight of fitness goals (and self!), I'm just getting back to school with a complete major change. I used to run track in high school that counts for keen runner, right? Are we the same person? I'll follow your thread and check in. Feel free to PM if you need someone to talk to about the emotional eating. I am right there with you.
  3. Sounds awesome! Please feel free to follow me and I'll follow you too. Also add me as a friend. Emotional eating is such a big part of why my weight ballooned. I just eat when I'm happy and eat when I'm sad. No middle ground. Hehe.
  4. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement, the offer to help, and for explaining the tag! I'll make sure to go say hello to everyone there.
  5. Just posted on another thread that those quarter or half inches matter to us wee ones! Good luck!
  6. Hey, I'm 5'.2.5" tall too. The half inch matters the most. Best of luck!
  7. Record keeping is such a good idea! Definitely a tangible way to see progress when you think there is none. Good luck!
  8. I'm kind of excited for my first challenge. Maybe even a bit scared. It's always hard to start something and then *gasp *horror* be held accountable. I'm going to stop babbling and set up my margins... NOW. Main Quest The fun and exciting task of getting rid of the jiggle so my muscles look fuerte. I really want to be strong enough to scale those mountains, scramble those rocks, and crawl through those caves like a slithery snake. Quests 1. Actually stick to the Beginner Bodyweight Workout and do three circuits 3x a week. 2. Walk 5 miles a week. Walking is a good decompression activity for me. It's been awfully cold in NYC, but that should not be an excuse when you're all about that base, bout' that base, base layers! [see what I did there?] 3. Control my stress eating. Diet is everything and I eat a lot when I am under stress. Maybe this can meld with no. 2 - walk instead of eat? Yes. Life Side Quest Be more organized. Like MOAR. And, like now. Motivation Climbing more. Running around with my little spores and not quitting because mama's outta breath. I haven't chosen a race yet but I know for sure I'll be an Assassin. Looking forward to enjoying these six weeks with you all. I know we'll be bumbling fools sometimes, but being an idiot is best when there are friends around to tell you that you're being kind of silly. Hasta luego, Bettyx
  9. Thanks so much! Glad to hear from someone who started similarly. For now, I am doing the Beginner Bodyweight Workout. In a few weeks, when I am more comfortable with the movements, I'll move on to lifting heavy and incorporate some freerunning for agility and help scaling mountains! I'm excited to be here and stay here, permanently.
  10. Either way, I'm a noob. I've got quite a bit to work on. I was (trying to use past tense 'cause new leaf and all) one of those who lied about never having time to work out. Admittedly, I've lurked around NF and the forum for too long never finding the courage to participate and take the necessary steps for change. I'm here now and it's got to count for something when a super introverted girl airs out her most insecure thoughts with a bunch of strangers (but soon to be friends). Let's see... Most interesting thing about me will vary with everyone but I am funny and supportive and hope to be a good fit here. I'm 200 lbs. give or take a few, and super short chicquita at 5'1.5" - that half counts! I don't care about the weight at this point, I just want to be strong. I love hiking and scrambling and climbing but I find it so hard when I am this weak. So, there's my goal. I wish to climb like one of those weird goats defying gravity. I want to float from rock to rock like a bee would with flowers. Here ends a semi-long spiel about what I want. Now let me go out and seize it. Hello all! Bettyx
