  1. Thank you so much! I am going to give these exercises a go, and see how it plays out. It doesn't hurt all day long or anything, but I can certainly tell when I move the wrong way. I don't know how to describe the pain, it still feels strong, but when i do hurt it, it's kind of deep and stabby.
  2. Okay, I know nobody here is a doctor, but wondering if anyone can give me some insight. I have shoulder pain, and I don't think it's a rotator cuff thing, when I read up on it, it said you would have trouble lifting above your head, or reaching up, not the case. I can lift a barbell easily, shoulder press is not a major problem...but I can't do a push up unless I tuck my arms in tight to my sides. I also could not do a lateral raise, that hurts like the dickens. I am wondering if some basic rehab is all I need, but I wish I knew exactly what it was that was hurt. The shoulder seems to have 400 muscle groups. Anything in here seem okay? There are some on here i couldn't do, because it's a lateral move.... http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/PDFs/Rehab_Shoulder_5.pdf
  3. the one I bought had nothing else in it, but citric acid, which I'm guessing does something important. It took a bit to find out that didn't have a whole list of weirdness in it. The one I picked was a back of the shelf asian thing. Anyhoo, reason I ask is becuase of the saturated fat content, which i thought we'd all gotten over, and that coconut mlik/cream/oil etc, was actually a good fat now?
  4. An interesting article, but skipping breakfast and eating a half a bar of dark chocolate doesn't sound anything like what the article is getting at.
  5. Okay, what are people's thoughts on coconut cream? - the raw stuff, not the added sugar weird shit, just the stuff from the can when separated from the watery part. There seems to be a lot of outdated info on the google.
  6. Nevermind kids. I think i figured it out. Whey isolates are best choice. http://www.supplementscanada.com/iso_sensation_93_ultimate_nutrition_6.6lb.html

  12. When I stopped drinking milk, my breakouts became a lot more manageable.
  13. yeah, my gut is telling me a short, slow 1k around the block could do some good. I think i will give it a go. Besides, runners fix most things with duck tape no? sigh, could be worse, I could be benched with a fracture. focus on the positive!
  14. I made these last night! I ground the oats in a coffee grinder first, added some milled flax seed, + a bit of greek yogurt. I did a tsp of cinnamon, because it's awesome. Voila! perfection. My 7 year old LOVED them. how odd is that!
  15. I only went for an xray to make sure nothing major was done. I told her when it happened, that I had a 5k run on Sept 22, and I was concerned that I would not be okay for it, she said she could not see it being an issue, and that I would be fine for the race....I also told her that the weekend after that, I would be sprinting as a zombie in run for your lives, she also brushed that off with no concerns.
  16. so.....I sprained my ankle, 3 weeks ago this Monday. I would like to say I was doing something awesome when this happened, but I was running up the stairs, skipping steps because I was in a hurry, and well, there you go. So, as far as sprains go, yes it was so painful when it happened I almost puked and passed out, but, i did not tear anything, or fracture anything. A minor bruise occurred, I did not require crutches to walk. I still have some minor swelling, some mobility issues - I am trying to do some gentle stretching to help this out. Tendons feel tight. I am doing some physio @ home, using some bands for some resistance, farmer walks with light weights on tippy toes, calf raises.... Here is my question, when I can i start running again? It does not hurt when I run, - I put my shoes on and ran in circles in my basement like the caged animal i feel like, and it did not feel uncomfortable. I would like to do 1 or 2km tonight, thinking that it may help me out, get the blood flowing, stretch things out, just a light run. thoughts?

    flax seeds

I pulse, and only grind what i need, i also keep them in the freezer as whole seeds, and take them out as needed. make sense?

    flax seeds

the box was already ground too, so that's something else I guess you are paying for. meh! I'm buying bulk and taking the risk.

    flax seeds

Okay, I just to make sure I'm not mental. I buy flax seeds in bulk, and grind them in a coffee grinder, add to shakes. I got 400 million lbs for 98 cents. (exaggeration, but pretty close). The box of organic flax seeds, comparable in amount, is $10.99. Is the bulk just as good? the price difference is INSANE.
  20. I am an asshole. I love to bake shit, bring it in the office and watch other people eat it. I don't push it on people, I leave it at the coffee station, and watch the wolves go at it. And I am a dam good cook. I don't know why I do it. It makes them happy, and strengthens my will power.
  21. OH DEAR. I mean, funny? yes, but also grossly ignorant? yes. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-blumenthal/paleo-man-debunks-the-pal_b_3129110.html
  22. What are your intervals like? do you go full out, sprint like your life depends on it sort of thing? if that's the case, 3x a week may be too much. Sprints KILL me, i ache down to my bone marrow, but that's where I like to be, lol. I think I am the only person that likes DOMS. Bit of a nut case there.
