  1. I will probably be one of the few who says it didn't help, but in fact took what was an unhealthy relationship with food (which included binges) and turned it into a full blown eating disorder. Too many rules, too much expectation, too much guilt. I'd screw up, feel guilty, and then on top of binging found myself purging. Or if not that, I'd end up binging more because of the pressure and guilt from screwing up. I did paleo/whole30 for a month and then things went progressively downhill from there until I was referred into an eating disorder treatment program. I'm probably rare, but its not something I can do healthily.
  2. ^^^ All of the above. None of us are perfect. I've done some challenges where I finished, some I flunked out of the first week. Gotta roll with the punches and live your life the best you can.
  3. Thanks everyone! 5 more tonight, followed by another set of 3. I'll be bad ass eventually
  4. I'm still in it. I did 5 more push ups on skates tonight, then another 3 during our second run of ultimates before I had to drop to my knees. I've failed at food tho, so thats my focus for tomorrow. Make good choices, feed myself, love myself.
  5. Thanks guys. We have to do them as part of an endurance routine. You sprint skate 2 laps, do 5 push ups, sprint 2 laps, do squats, etc etc. Its definitely a bit tricky but I'm glad I did it, finally.
  6. One of my goals achieved tonight. 5 on skate pushups done, during an ultimate no less. <3 I'm resisting the urge to re-evaluate anything and look at losing fat right now. Ugh.
  7. Goal to be checked off? *5 real pushups on skates (currently can do 3 off skates) We did ultimates tonight at derby practice and I got all 5 of the pushups done, proper form, on my toestops. No bent knees, no cheating. Up til tonight I'd never done a single one on skates. So... woot!
  8. Testing throws me off so hardcore. I get so disappointed I spiral and eat crap/don't work out. I am not failing out of this challenge. I am not. I am picking myself back up.
  9. Carried shelves and bookcases around the store instead of putting them in a shopping cart on Saturday. Moved them into the new place, built them. I'm counting that as a win for this challenge. I have a bruise on my bicep to show for it.
  10. Ugh. As a sufferer of gallstones, I feel for you. *hugs*
  11. Tonight we did a pretest for the rest of the newbies, it would have been official for me if I had passed my 25 laps in under 5 minutes. But I only just managed 24 and every one of them hurt. So frustrating when I tell myself that I can do it and my body says fuck you. Oh well. I keep on keeping on. Tomorrow is spin. In life - goals: my budget sucks. School supplies But I made huge progress in getting things I'd been avoiding unpacked and organized.
  12. I say huge congrats on dealing with the emotional things and the triggers. Those are always the hardest for me. You will get the rest of your goals too, I have faith.
  13. I decided to take a rest day because it looks like I'm going to test again tomorrow. So fingers crossed I get my 25 laps done in under 5 minutes and can move on. I'm tired of failing at it and yet still scared to death of it. I feel like I should do my leg plyo stuff but I know my legs were also a bit achey, especially my shin, so... as of now I've done nothing. Maybe get some destress cleaning done and get to bed.
  14. I have some gloves, but I've always heard not to use them on deadlifts because it weakens your grip. But the gym doesn't really allow chalk as far as I can tell, so I'm not sure what our options are. Updates: I feel like I've been skating non stop. Sunday - agility practice. Lots of plie squats on skates. Monday - practice... laps and stuff. Was a good 2 hours. Debating what to do today. I want to go to skate practice tonight but also need to lift.
  15. Woot! Way to go Loren! I hit my own PR this week. Its a nice feeling
  16. Workout today… ugh. So tired. Skated juniors practice and that was hard and uncomfortable in that awesome way tho. Skating with your heels together while facing the inside of the track? Ugh. Need to keep working on my plie squats. Its just so strange feeling and my inner thighs get so tight. But.. its one of those things I just have to get. Goal is to be agile and fast, no matter what I’m doing on my skates. Then decided to make up for not being able to lift last night and go straight to the gym from practice: General Plyometrics +15 pts 0:00:30 (+5 pts) 0:00:30 (+5 pts) 0:00:30 (+5 pts) Quick feet step ups Lateral Lunges +117 pts 15 reps (+39 pts) 15 reps (+39 pts) 15 reps (+39 pts) Done quickly, no resetting in the middle, stay low. That 205 deadlift? PR. Uh huh.
  17. Challenge complete! 5 real push ups every day since I posted.
  18. Tonight we had an impromptu skate practice... which sort of messes with my lifting schedule... :-/ But i needed the work. So I guess I lift tomorrow instead. I did get an hour of hard skating (my thighs burn!) and then planked for 1 m 20 secs and did my 5 mini challenge push ups.
  19. Yay on the 6 hill sprints! The negatives are a good idea, I want to find a place to do that...
  20. I just recently went from 0 real push ups to 5 real push ups! I do them one day a week now but I think my goal this week is 5 real push ups a day starting right now(done!). Also, I'd like 2 real push ups on my skates by Saturday.
