  1. Hee, I approve of this immensely. Joshua, I guess I always got lucky because my English lit classes were always the ones where most of the class hates each other by the end of each class, and came in cheerfully the next day ready for another round One of my favourite scenes from any book is in Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon, in which a discussion was broken up when "The pro-consensus, anti-confrontation elements then seized control of the conversation and broke it up into numerous small clusters of people all vigorously agreeing with each other."
  2. Okay, I suppose I might as well start writing in this regularly. Okay... -I did indeed do stretching and hollow body this morning. -I practiced the standing back tuck? I'm still landing pretty hard and sometimes with my hands on the ground even from the box, so not incredibly confident in it... -I failed at not buying cookies today. -I probably practiced three hours, although a lot of it was contrabassoon. -If I get my butt moving on 750words.com right this instant, I may have a shot at eight hours of sleep. Likelihood of timely butt-moving: low.
  3. This is hollow body, it's a really important position in gymnastics and incredible ab exercise And yeah, the text doesn't really say anything besides explain what the people in the gifs are doing.
  4. With karaoke. In which we express our true opinions.
  5. I'm working on some Phelilmectick fan fiction.

    Assassin Team:

I love this idea! I didn't join Druids because I hate yoga and I hate pilates and I hate meditation (so yeah, not a good fit), but my flexibility is pretty good. I can touch my fingertips to me heels in a bridge? Or, y'know... I could a few years ago... I'm sure I can get it back!
  7. I agree! I can't wait to get back to school, because all I do at my parents' house is use their free wifi and eat their free food :/

    Assassin Team:

Another late addition to the Assassin team!
  9. Class-- Assassin Race-- Pixie Fitness Goals -Begin every day with a few minutes of stretching and a minute of hollow body position. -Go through the full list of exercises recommended by my local parkour group at least once a week (likely every Sunday). -Move my standing back tuck to a flat surface, instead of from a box to the floor. -Stop buying cookies from the caf every day Life Goals -Practice bassoon at least three hours a day, no matter what else is going on. -Finish every day on 750words.com . -Get 8 hours of sleep before every school day. Stalking I don't have a facebook, and mainly use Twitter for reading purposes... you can always find me on the My Life Is Nerdy Forums, though, same username.
  10. Haha, worries about my weight are peripheral, it's not like a little excess fat actually interferes with my flexibility. Actually, I wouldn't mind gaining a little weight, if it were muscle. It's just more the factor of "ohmygod I'm gonna have to wear a leotard!" but I know I am being a little silly on that count
  11. Hello all. Basically, I'm here because it depresses me when I consider the number of things that I used to be able to do, that I can't any more. I was forced to quit gymnastics three years ago; I've dabbled in other sports (diving, rowing, swimming, running, and pretty soon-- hopefully-- this quidditch team), but I can't help feeling that every sport I do is just a stand-in until I get back to gymnastics. Which I am doing! In September! And I'm terrified. I'm fat and out of shape and have no flexibility left whatsoever. I can just see myself getting completely frustrated and hating myself once I finally get back to the sport I love. So, I guess my first fitness mission is Operation get-back-to-where-you-were-three-years-ago. I'm massively glad that I can do so with Nerd Fitness!
