  1. http://www.dorcousa.com/ I've heard this is where the dollar shave club gets their stuff. I've got some. Not sure if it's better or worse than schick/gilette, but it sure is a lot cheaper!
  2. Not to go off on a tangent, but this is a struggle in our relationship. Our roles are basically reversed in that she makes more money, so feels like she can come home, sit on the couch, watch tv and play on her phone. Meanwhile, if we have a home-cooked meal, I cook it (she doesn't know how to cook), I do the majority of house cleaning (she hates cleaning), the only thing that's close to an even split is laundry. I'm not trying to keep track of what she does or doesn't do, but it's frustrating when 1) she expects me to do more because I make less money (yes, she has literally said that) and 2) she hears or reads stuff like this and expects me to take on even more so she can "relax after a long days work". That being said I've been to quite a bit of the baby stuff cuz for the first 24 hours after birth she was basically on bed rest due to a large amount of blood and when our baby was only three days old, she received a call that one of her best friends passed away. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can change so I don't feel like I'm carrying all the weight in the relationship?
  3. I couldn't agree with you more. I didn't personally experience this, but I've had friends who did. It's definitely something I aspire to be. We didn't find out before, but turns out we had a little girl, who's sleeping on my chest as I type this
  4. So I'm sitting in the hospital trying not to be too bored while waiting for the induction drugs to kick in. It still hasn't quite hit me yet that I'll be a parent soon. Although I'm sure it will set in in the next couple weeks when I'm a walking zombie from lack of sleep. Anyways, any advice for a soon-to-be new dad?
  5. It's well worth the read. Shows a different perspective on the recent shootings. And illustrates how much more complex (gun) violence is.
  6. "When I was pondering shooting up my school...really, what I wanted was for people to agonize over why I'd done it. Then, maybe, they'd see how badly they'd treated me. I'd be a monster, yes, but a monster with a message." http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/12/22/i-was-adam-lanza.html'>http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/12/22/i-was-adam-lanza.html
  7. That's awesome!!! I remember the first time I was able to do a full pull up, I was SO amped! Keep the momentum going; you'll be doing many more before you know it!
  8. No need to buy a dehydrator to make jerky, Alton Brown to the rescue!!! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/beef-jerky-recipe/index.html
  9. I used to use gillette and shave gel, but recently switched over to a double edged safety razor with shave brush and cream. Unlike other people, I haven't noticed a closer shave with the DE blade, but I will say i rarely get ingrown hairs anymore. Even if you don't go all the way to a DE blade or straight razor (yikes), I do recommend using a brush and cream/soap. For those of you still wasting money on gillette/shick, try out http://www.dorcousa.com/.
  10. Whole foods carries Rise bars, some are okay, but one has only three ingredients: almonds, honey, and whey protein isolate. I guess it's not paleo due to the whey protein, but still, it's nice knowing what's in it. And it tastes pretty good too
  11. what were you saying about bacon? "United States of Bacon" http://foodbeast.com/content/2012/12/06/united-states-of-bacon-tv-show-because-this-is-america/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foodbeast+%28FOODBEAST%29
  12. Bacon Shaving Cream anyone? http://huff.to/1143jGO
  13. Start small, right? I'm not a morning person, so getting me out of a warm bed to go workout ain't gonna happen. So, my goal for the next month is to always crank out a set or two of pushups or squats immediately after getting out of bed. Doesn't matter how many I do, as long as I do them. Starting tomorrow morning--cuz I'm already out of bed today
  14. @cline I grew up the same way. Had veggies with every meal, but it was always frozen veggies or overcooked. My mom is still amazed that I love veggies now. Grilled asparagus with garlic, balsamic vinegar and olive oil...mmmm, can't wait for summer to come back!
