  1. Hello!! This isn’t my first or even my second intro thread I believe - I tried several times to focus on getting in shape during university but it never stuck (in the most part because my dumb eating disorder made it reaaaaaaally hard to eat healthily). I’m now in ED recovery, and more importantly I’ve been playing roller derby for just over two years! This has given me a reason to kick my own ass and get in shape, and now I’m just looking to add another lovely community to my support network to keep me going! I’m well chuffed that I’m joining in time to jump onto the next 4 Week Challenge and get myself back into consistent training after a recent back injury and just talk fitness with all you lovely nerds! ❤️
  2. I feel that exams stress! Keep going - soooo much work can get done re: revision and stuff in a little amount of time hit me up if u wanna complain/vent/swap study tips - I have the final exams of my degree in May and ughhhhhhhhh x
  3. Don't be discouraged, we all hit stumbling blocks! It sounds like you're making great progress!
  4. Oof! It's been a tough few days! I think the main problem I'm having is my third quest - getting up before 8am is leaving me tired, grumpy and unmotivated no matter how early I go to sleep? I'm thinking of editing it to before 9am - still not oversleeping, but allowing me to feel better? Advice would be appreciated As a result of all the tired, skipped yoga on Tuesday morning making that an impromptu rest day. But that's okay! These challenges leave a bit of wiggle room, so I'll just yoga today and tomorrow and I'll be back on track!
  5. Yep, I feel that! I currently have an unlimited pass at my local yoga studio that runs out of Tuesday, so until then I'll be making the most of yoga opportunities! One thing I might do is take a yin class on Friday instead as that would still be yoga but a lot more restorative and take that as a rest day, with strength training on Sunday. Thanks for the advice! Day 3 - all on track thus far! Realllll struggle to get out of bed before 8am though, alarm went off at 7:55 and I managed to be on my feet at 7:58 haha
  6. You're very welcome! Haha, Hawke is my inspiration in all things, from being ripped as hell to witty as hell. I have a place next year to study secondary English, but my degree is actually in Linguistics so I have a loooot of literature to read!
  7. Hello! Sounds like it's all going well so far I am also a lady nerd and next year I will also be training to be a teacher! Exciting! I totally get the thing of the more-than-freshman-fifteen, totally happened to me as well. Following, and wishing you all the luck!
  8. Days 1 + 2: One: All on track thus far! Getting up in the morning is definitely helped by this haha, I'm shattered by 11pm and I have an actual class I've paid for at 7:30am. Two: Zumba yesterday and again on Thursday! Still trying to think of a good day of the week to strength train (for muscles not really worked by yoga, esp abs and glutes) - Friday? Saturday? I'd like to keep Sunday as a rest day. Three: Boyfriend hasn't murdered me for waking him up early yet, but it's only a matter of time haha.
  9. Hello everyone! I joined Nerd Fitness last year and flunked my first 4 week challenge disastrously and was too ashamed to continue! But I'm back now and I'm super excited - I have a family holiday AND a family wedding this summer so it's time to get in shape and feel good about myself! Quest One - Yoga six days a week, every week! A - Every day B - Miss 6 days C - Miss 12 days D - Miss 18 days E - Miss 24 days F - Miss 25 days or more Quest Two - Other workouts, three times a week. Current plan is Zumba on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a Pilates or bodyweight workout on a Sunday. A - Every day B - Miss 2 sessions C - Miss 4 sessions D - Miss 6 sessions E - Miss 8 sessions F - Miss 9 sessions or more Quest Three - Bed before midnight and up before 8am! A - Every day B - Miss 6 days C - Miss 12 days D - Miss 18 days E - Miss 24 days F - Miss 25 days or more
  10. Literally before I started this challenge I was half-convinced that pushups were some kind of joke everybody was in on, they seemed that impossible, you know? So there's definitely hope Thanks! 'Good' is a strong word - I could do one, just about. With good form and without rushing, I mean. I got to around five good knee ones before I could do one proper one PROGRESS: Q1 - still on track, but counting copious cups of black tea and lemsip to the water count - have managed to come down with a nasty sore throat :/ Q2 - did my first ever sequence without guidance today and it felt amazing to go with the flow of my own body. I'll probably mostly do proper classes, but when I need to fit in a quick twenty minutes or I just need to stretch out one muscle group in particular it's good to have the confidence to do so. Q3 - Rest day today! My triceps are actually noticeable for the first time ever though!
  11. That's exactly what it is! Like a fear that I'll just suddenly faint or something - plus, it's stopped me from ever running farther than like 1.5k so I've never experienced the point where it levels out :/
  12. I don't know if its just traumatic gym class memories, but whenever I decide to go for a run I start feeling really horrible and anxious - running doesnt clear my head at all, it just makes me jittery up until I do it and then sort of relieved but horrible afterwards. I'm normally quite good at squashing anxious feelings (social anxiety teaches you a lot!) but I can't seem to shake this one! Any advice?
  13. UPDATE Arghhhh missed yoga yesterday because it was a ridiculously hectic day! Have totally slid down to a B in Quest 2. But! I'm still on track for Quest 1 - and today I did MY FIRST REAL PUSHUP EVER!

Mini challenge all done! Part 1 - signature has had links to challenge and intro for a while Part 2 - Am following a few people, Nightshadow and Elros_Gladomain included
  15. Yoga! Part of my challenge this time round is to do a bit of yoga every day, it does wonders! If you're looking for shorter yoga routines there are lots on Youtube - I'd recommend Sarah Beth's power yoga if you're going for cardio, and some of her deep hip opening if you're going for flexibility. Sounds like your goals are going great though!
