  1. I'm going to apologize in avance because I might offend someone or come out as rude, soooo I'M SORRY. the main goal of this life is to be happy, everything we do is to be happy, sometimes being in a relationship makes us happy but in order to make a relationship works you have to be happy with yourself before you can share your own happines with your couple, evaluate how you feel not how your girlfriend feels, then evaluate everything else, it might sound very selfish but you have to look up for you. Now about helping your girlfriend, here come's the whole BEING in a relationship thing. of course you are not going to run away from her just because she doesn't want to anything about her health, everyone deserves to be helped and opportunities, so lets help her, like everybody else said, talk with her about your concerns about her and give her time to make a choice, help with the cooking and bla bla bla everything else, puto your 100% into helping her, after you guys have a serious talk give her time to think and in the meantime you keep helping her in everyway you can without actually telling her you are doing it. once she make up his mind she is going to tell what she thinks, if she wants to change for her, GREAT lets help her even more in every possible way but at her own pace, and if she doesn't want to change, I'm really sorry but you need to evaluate if you want that in your life, she is your girlfriend so it is assumed that you are going to be together always, so you decide if you want to carry that unhappiness with you, and eventually her unhappiness will make unhappy. it is a very delicate situation, but we cant be responisble for everybody else, look out for yourself, dont let anyone make you take steps back, keep moving forward, again, I'm very sorry if this come out rude, you are asking for help, that means you want to be happy, so please be happy, i really hope you can be happy with your girlfriend.
  2. I dont know if i'm sad or what but I just dont feel motivated to go to the gym anymore, I'm still going but I dont want it anymore, I've been going to the gym for 8 months now, I think that is pretty solid but I'm getting bored. I'm thinking in taking a break from it. I'm going to finish this month and once I get back from my honeymoon I think I'll join a boxing gym for a while. What do you think guys?
  3. OK OK, one of the best weekends in 2015 so far for me. Dave Grohl and the foo fighters are just awesome, that guy is non-stop, even jus seating on his throne the guy just can't stop rocking. on the other hand we ate a lot of pizza, beer and all that thing that are not good for us, but i didn't gain any weight. we were visiting a friend and he was very happy that we finally get to visit him so i put my diet on hold and celebrate with him but on the plus size, the girlfriend and I went shopping on saturday and it was from 9 am to 9 pm so that was a lot of walking, anyway, great weekend and no regrets.
  4. sorry, havent post anything, thanks for keeping up, things are going good, I've had problems with my car which has made difficult to buy groceries this week, but I got my car back and besides I walked a lot because of the no car issue. th eother also I went for a full series of 8 pull ups, one goal down, but i want that to become constant and the best FOO FIGHTERS show tomorrow hell yeah
  5. I definetly do the jack sparrow running here in my nearby beaches, in the summer water is too hot and in winter is too cold, we only got like a 2 month window when everything is perfect, but beautiful beaches overall, if anybody wants to come down I'll be your guide
  6. oh knots, I would like to learn something like that, I'm sure they can save my life evetually
  7. I love bodyweight it makes me feel badas, i would like someday to achieve a muscle up
  8. hi there, yes mi fiance likes to exercise and she is also a nutritionist, what she doesn't like is getting up early so i guess I will be the only one smelling "all sexy like beach and sea breeze". eating will not be a big problem, drinking is going to be hard, I can't pass on a cold corona or heineken and going to mayan territory I must eat cacao beverages, it is going to be so hard but I will overcome
  9. thanks I think I'll check his thread and see what exercises i can steal from him.
  10. ok ok, here I am up for a new challenge, my first one as a ranger, so hello Rangers. I'm coming from the assasins because during this challenge I want to continue with my weight loss goal as well as improve my stamina (that's new for me) so I've been told this is a god place for that. Right now I'm playing in a basketball tournament at work and i want to get back to my best basketball shape ever which was 10 years ago. I want to dunk the ball again. the last week of the challenge is going to be very tricky, it is my honeymoon, but I will try to include my honeymoon into the challenge, we are going to playa del carmen and we will be walking and walking and walking, dancing, climbing, swiming scuba diving and also eating (yikes), that all-inclusive deal is going to be my best friend and my worst enemy but I'm up for it. this is me going into the challenge: Height: 6'2" weight: 191 lbs BF%: 17% these are my goals: MAIN QUEST: the same as always, become a viking, having less than 15% BF and being strong as hell and i already drink beer so I got that going for me which is nice. Also sometime next year i want to hike humphrey's peak. GOALS: - drop my BF% to 16% - increase my pullups from 6 to 8 - squat and spinning (dunking and stamina) - Diet, maintain my Paleo diet with the ocasional milk and yogurt. I'm currently lifting weights but this time it is not going to be a challenge, I'll add more reps to my sets but no more weight, only if I feel like it I will add more weight. currently: Squat: 190 lbs bench: 150 lbs deadlift: 150 lbs Thanks Rangers
  11. 3 deadlift PR's for me today including my challenge goal. 150 lbs, 170 lbs and 190 lbs.
  12. one more down today i went back to deadlifts after hurtin my back during the 2nd week of the challenge, I never quit squats I guess that is what made deadlifitng today easier, I made 3 deadlift PR and achieve my challenge goal, deadlift 150 lbs, I actually deadlift 190 and today I also was able to go back to 6 pullups
  13. good morning it has been a couple of weeks since my last post, I was having some troubles with my body, i wasn't sick but i wasn't feeling normal but I think I'm back on track now I weighted myself yesterday and here are the results: Weight: 86.5 kg Body Fat: 17% I got one more week till this challenge ends, I'll do my best to get under 17% BF. beside I'm in the last month of the weight loss challenge at work, so far I've dropped 5 kg and I need at least 4 more to make sure I'll win a prize so I think I will keep my morning lifts and go back to a spinning class on the afternoon "keep the eye on the prize" those cash prices could make some very fun scuba lessons or skydiving on my honeymoon. Thanks
  14. hi man, congratulations you have done an excellent job. I cna relate very much with your story, I began this journey because of the very same reason than you, a yearly checkup that went very bad on bad cholesterol and I even started at almost the same stats than you 238 lbs 6' 2" and now I'm at the same stage than you my last 10 lbs, my advice is change something, either your diet or exercise, when you are closer to your goal you need to be more analitic, i used had something like you taco bell lunch and I got stuck like you, i change my diet and continue dropping then stuck again and change my exercise and continue dropping. really the more I read your post the more I relate. I started walking and jogging, then I switch to bodyweight and now I'm lifitng at the gym, every step has worked for me. you say you started yesterday with bodyweight, keep that for a month and evaluate, make progressions, makes things harder until you become a master or you feel the need to switch to a different exercise. I did only bodyweight for 3 months, then switch to weight lifting and keep doing bodyweight 2 days a week, and really check your diet, go tu a nutritionist if you think you need it, lucky me, my wife is a nutritionist, that helps me a lot, and finally as nerd fitness says, lose your weight the smart way, read the articles in the blog, read the ones about sugar, weight lifting, the pullups there's a lot of info here. here's what my diet looks as today breakfast - apple shake with no sugar and 1 cup of milk and one egg mid morning snack - fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries, jicama, mango) lunch - 1 chicken breast and vegetables afternoon snack - avocado rolls (roll some avocado and turkey breast with lettuce instead of tortillas) dinner - more fruit or vegetables there is still room for improving in my diet but as today is still working good luck and keep the good work you are doing great
  15. now, you are not an asshole for having this concern, but I might sound like an asshole, We men have a very simple way in which we understand things called "sex or no sex" if you talk to him about how you are not enjoying sex since he started to put weight he is going to worry, but be carefull a man's sex pride is tricky. I personally notice a huge change in my sex life once I started dropping weight and I was really mildly overweight so i know that a few extra pounds can have an impact.
  16. 2 PR's today dumbell bicep curl from 20 to 30 lbs bent over row 1st time ever 50 lbs I'm still waiting on the deadlift, I think I will wait till the last week of the challenge and give it a try.
  17. 3 weeks and 3lbs, that's not worng at all, you are on the good path, but I would say give a longer try, 2 weeks reduced cal, 1 week fasting, give it more time to try each method so you can see results, lets say 3 weeks reduced cals then check results if you dont like it go 3 weeks fasting and so. but you are good 3 lbs in 3 weeks.
  18. 1 PR for me today and is another big one because it is also one of my challenge goals Bench press 150 lbs I'm left with the pullups and the deadlift. I dont think I will continue with deadlift, I have just recovered from a back ache that was hurting me for 2 weeks and a basketball tournament is about to start and i dont want to risk that. pullups are giving me a very hard time, I was easy on 6 pullups then suddenly I went back to 3 and know I'm at 5-6 again, I really want to make those ones I will keep fighting.
  19. Good monring everybody I used to play basketball in high school and we were pretty good, I used to be able to dunk the ball in my best years. now it is been a long time since my last dribble. being 6'2" takes me very close to a dunk, but I'm still short for a very little. does anybody know about a quick workout to improve my jump height, I think I need 2 or 4 more inches. Thanks Fabian R.
  20. overhead press PR today - 70 lbs, first time doing this
  21. ok week 1 update I've been posting several PR's for the minis which had lead to achieve one of my goals in this challenge. Squat goal is done. The deadlift is not progressing, I hurt my back and I just got out of it, I dont know if I want to push it again, maybe I will start doing deadlift but with a very much lighter weight. My weight dropped from 88.6 to 87.2 kg My body fat dropped from 17.7 to 17.2% We are currently in a weight loss challenge at work, it ends the last week of september, so me and my girlfriend are working on a strategy to win, we have 2 more months to do it, I'm aiming to drop 7 more kg, I'm pretty sure that will put in a 2nd or 3rd place, which are prices of 300 and 100 dlls that will come very handy for my honeymoon. I'm making progress there. Thanks and keep the good work, let's make it together
  22. 2 PR's today, first went for 2 sets of 6 dips then 2 more of 9 dips
  23. 3 PR's today I took my squat to 170 lbs and then break ir again takiing it to 190 lbs that is not only a PR but it is also a goal for my challenge, so one down. then I max my bench to 140 lb, previous was 135.
  24. good moring today PR's Bench press 130 lbs to 135lbs Squat 150 to 155 lbs These PR not only help the minis but they are also part of my challenge goals so win win.
