  1. You had me at "chocolate". I had a nose around online yesterday, and I suspect I'll probably end up going with something chocolatey or cookies and cream, something along those lines. My wife briefly tried Herbalife a few years ago, and I tasted the cookie and cream flavour which was pretty decent. Not sure how nutritionally good it was, though. I think a good quality whey protein is the whey I want to go. (See what I did there?)
  2. Good going, keep it up. Also, keep listing the songs you're listening to, I love getting suggestions for good workout songs, especially thrashy things. I'm old school. ;-)
  3. Pfffft. Bees don't let bees skip leg day! ;-) Keep it up, ma'am! You the man, girl! Or something.
  4. MATHS AND SCIENCE! WHOOO! This is one of my favourite challenges to read on NF, the amount of thought and work that you put in to everything you do is inspiring, sir. But then, I'm a complete numbers nerd. Keep it up, you're kicking all the ass.
  5. Week 4 late night workout 2 DONE, and a new cross trainer PB of 211 & 216. I'm pushing to get these numbers as high as I can, with one eye already on what I'm planning for the next 6WC. Hush hush, wink wink, know what I'm saying, guv'nor? Planning to do workout 3 tomorrow evening, which will have me way ahead of the game this week. Bonus happy dings, tomorrow is a day off work! Pleasing! Staying on track with the smoothies, too. I've had at least one a day since I got my new blender, and just stocked up with fresh batches of kale and spinach today. I'm thinking about shopping around for some whey protein tomorrow. Time to get serious about this, fellow nerds.
  6. "Liking" that doesn't really feel right, but you know what I mean. It was the right thing. *hugs*
  7. I absolutely feel for you. We had to say goodbye to our first family pet on January 5 after 14 years of nothing but unconditional love from her. We bought her for my oldest son (now 16) when we found out we were going to have our daughter, so he didn't feel left out. Letting her go broke all of our hearts, but I know now it was the kindest thing to do for her, even if it was the hardest thing for us. People who say "they're like family", just don't quite understand. They're not "like" family. They just ARE. Be with her for as long as you can. I lay on the vet's floor holding our dog until she was gone, just hoping it was a comfort for her. It's beyond hard for you right now, but in time, all you'll be left with is beautiful memories of the love she gave you. GAH! Feelings!
  8. Week 4 mini is in the bag, linked from my first post in this thread, and all my bits and pieces updated. Fetch me my party pants, the hot tub awaits!

  10. Week 4 Workout 1 done, post-workout green concoction consumed. I feel better than James Brown.
  11. Mine is tattooed on me: "Rise above this" Taken from a Seether song, but applicable to almost every challenge you'll ever face.
  12. It's Week 4. Let's kick ass and chew sugar-free gum!

  13. And week 3 workout 4 is done! Now to refuel with dinner, restore with church tonight, and recharge with a 3-day work week ahead. Have a great Sunday, everyone. We're halfway through this challenge!
  14. Halfway through my first 6WC and feeling fantastic, if I'm honest. For the most part, I haven't struggled with the chocolate ban as much as I'd feared, same with the fizzy drinks. Feeling leaner than I have in a long time, and curious to weigh myself - but I won't. Plan for this afternoon is to hit the workout target for the week, eat properly and be thankful for the good things in my life.
  15. Oh Lord, that actually sounds awesome. I might try that.
  16. Question: What has two thumbs, and is sitting in a pair of 36" jeans? Answer: THIS GUY! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  17. Really liking the juicing so far. I'm using it more as a meal supplement than a replacement. Experimenting with various combinations of fruits and veggies.
  18. I thought Five Guys was your "liquid experiment"? Workout 3 of 4 done and dusted by 9am. Set up for a great Saturday, y'all!
  19. So, the first juice wasn't entirely awful. Spinach, kale, beetroot, tomato and spring water. I'm going to mess around with a few different flavour combinations. Let's get some nutrients in this tank! Whoooooo!
  20. Week 3 workout 2 in the bag. Cross trainer scores 205 & 210, second 15 seemed to fly past. Picked up some Mutter Paneer (Indian cottage cheese and peas) for tonight, and planning to experiment with some juicing too. Pray for my colon. I may yet need those Huggies.
  21. Situation rectified! You go!
  22. Mini #3: 1. The struggle: Having to fight the urge to say "good enough" and quit before reaching the end of my 15 minute cross trainer sessions. I realised part of this is watching the timer. I need a distraction. 2. The answer: Freshen up the iPod playlist with kickass workout music, with inspiration from here and here. 3. The resolution: Win! Blitzed through last night's workout by distracting myself with kickass tunes. +1 STA ding!
  23. You had me at Five Guys. And, disturbingly, not even the vivid picture you paint is stopping me from now craving a greasy bag of destiny. Feel better!
