  1. Sorry, that should have read "Not the way I do it: Sadly."
  2. Only if "mousepad" is a euphemism. I'm right-clicking as we speak.
  3. Like pouring cream splashed all over two Christmas puddings, baby doll.
  4. The Emeritus Professor of Double Entendres has arrived.
  5. There's a good way to get hit from behind? Don't answer that. Also, something something all sorts of chocolate streaks after the crash.
  6. Oh, and despite all that, still no chocolate. I did have a fruit and custard tart and a very small mouthful of cloudy lemonade yesterday when I felt like a box of bruised assholes.
  7. Wrapping this one up with an update. I had my work trip to Newcastle on Monday, up at 5am, meeting finished an hour ahead of schedule, so headed for home and about 2 mins from my front door, got involved in a four car accident. Stopped at traffic lights when a speeding car rear ended a Transit van, who rear ended me (shut up, Def!), causing me to hit the car in front. Got some light whiplash and a seatbelt injury to the abdomen, so the last couple of days have been a Tramadol party. I'm on the mend, my car went away for repair today, I've got a shiny new courtesy car and I'll probably go back to work tomorrow. Fun times! I'll still be putting a new challenge up. Takes more than whiplash to keep Buff McSavoury down. In fact, whip lashes normally do the exact opposite...
  8. Glad you're okay, my friend. Good challenge!
  9. Another one done, and I feel great despite my best efforts not to go. I have come to the conclusion that I don't love the gym, but it loves me. 6 weeks clean tonight. Whooooooo!
  10. I'm sitting in the car outside the gym, trying to will myself in. Someone yell at me or show me boobies. I would prefer the boobies.
  11. Had a busy old weekend, working my butt off volunteering at our church's first ever women's conference. The plan was to go to the gym afterwards on Saturday evening, but by that point it felt as though I'd been in the gym all day, so I'm counting that. I'll definitely be in the gym after work tonight, though. The purge is still intact. I make this Day 39. Mood's been a little up and down, but I think a big part of it is how horrendous the weather has been up here over the past few weeks. Not extreme in any way, shape or form, just relentlessly grey and damp. Going out to work in the morning has been incredibly disheartening. I'll continue to count the days until Turkey. I've got a road trip to Newcastle for work on the cards next Monday - no overnight, just a long day. Not particularly thrilled at the prospect, but it's a day out of the office!
  12. Day 35 of the decrapination. Still holding strong, even when temptation has presented itself. This is good. Interestingly, I'm not actually craving any of it. Long may it continue. Good news from the physio follow up yesterday. He's very happy with the progress, given me some more exercises to continue strengthening, and is happy to let me carry on and only go back if anything worsens again. Pleasing all round.
  13. In summary: I am singlehandedly wiping out Greece's national debts by eating my bodyweight in their food, during a promotional window.
  14. Purely because I am a good European citizen, and in support of an ailing member (shut up, Def) state, I'll have to go back to Lidl and stock up on more Eridanous whatnots before they disappear again. The tinned aubergine was really nice, and the vine leaves seem to be... mysteriously disappearing* (*inside me.)
  15. Weighed in slightly early, but we're at the 4 week mark since baseline, so no qualms. 248, first 9 down. I'll take that. This is day 32 of no chocolate or fizz. I feel good. I feel better than James Brown.
  16. All is still well, particularly as Def has alerted me that it's Greek Week in Lidl's, and therefore hunting season on tins of Eridanous vine leaves. I also grabbed the tinned aubergine in tomato sauce, and enough feta that I could conceivably build a cheese igloo, should I choose. Made it through another weekend (almost) with no chocolate or fizz. Today is day 30. Had two glasses of Liquid Salad on Friday night, but with none of the accompanying munching that normally happens. Small victories. I'm planning to weigh in at the gym, probably on Thursday, and let the chips fall where they may. Mmmm, chips... @Roamer, thank you for the encouraging words. I'll happily be the cautionary tale for anyone who needs it.
