  1. I have problems with plantar faciaitis and shin splints. Any recommendations to help with these?
  2. I'm making a push to get my act together and could use a little help/motivation. I'm in the west burbs of Chicago. We can either meet up or this can all be online but I need someone to help keep me accountable.
  3. It's been a couple of days since I posted. I did well at work on Friday eating, unfortunately the workout got interrupted by calls, but I did spend about an hour walking around in my fire gear so that's kind of like a workout. Yesterday morning I did my body weight routine (to make up for Friday's miss) and went for 2.25 mile run. Ate OK, but had several beers at my sister's last night. Today I'm taking it kind of easy and giving myself a rest. I've hit it pretty hard this week and my body just isn't used to it. Getting ready to go whip up some dinner now.
  4. 16 mile bike ride today in 1 hr 23 min. I'm off to a good start, but my will power is struggling already. Did good with food today with the exception of skipping breakfast. Grilled chicken breast and salad for lunch with a little light ranch dressing, and a protein shake post workout. Two talapia fillets and some grilled zucchini for dinner. I had an instant craving for anything that bad for me that I passed today, and that was tough because I was at the mall. No Mrs. Fields cookies, no dairy queen, no sabarro pizza. Oh well I'll live to fight another day. Tomorrow should be a good challenge going back to work. I hope I can convince the guys at the firehouse to eat decent.

Today's work-out: Round 1 30 air squats 30 pushups 10 18" box jumps 15 sit-ups 15 leg raises 15 swimmers 20 step-up (10/leg) 5 Pull-ups (substituted inverted rows) 30 forward lunges (15/leg) 20 tucked elbow (military) push-ups 15 inverted rows 15 air squats 10 dips Round 2 15 squats 15 push-ups 5 18" box jumps 8 sit-ups 8 leg raises 8 bicycles 10 step-ups (5/leg) 5 pull-ups (substituted inverted rows) 16 forward lunges (8/leg) 10 push-ups 8 air squats 10 dips Did it outside in the 90 degree heat. Made it through the workout but it's showed me how out of shape I've gotten recently. It felt great to workout and I'm already looking forward to doing it again and getting better.
  7. Keep up the good work. I was told by a teacher when I was trying to get over my fear of public speaking to talk about what you know. What subject do you know better than your own self.
