  1. And so, life has dealt me another bad hand. Getting laid off in 2 weeks so my head isn't in fitness at all. I'll pick it up depending on How the dust settles, which state I am in and if I'm even in the US. Later
  2. The craving went away as soon as I got home. Got to cooking pretty fast and stuff, but it didn't stop me from having a couple of those mini Snickers me and my wife picked up at the grocery store. Also got some ice cream. Ugh, I should just get rid of everything unhealthy at home, although I'm sure my wife would object. Evening is my weakness. I guess it's what i gotta work on during this challenge. On the flip side, my waist seems to be getting smaller. I'm on the third button in on my belt, and it's getting easier to button. Usually I'm at the 2nd
  3. OK so here's what I've gathered from my eating habits. I have a hard time eating decently at the end of the day. Sure I cook and stuff... which is Good. But it's easy to grande McDonald's or pizza. I can avoid junk all day, I've avoided cookies and muffins that coworkers bring in... but I'm craving a pizza so bad right now. I'm making steak, broccoli and sweet potatoes when I get home but still. I want pizza.
  4. It usually goes like... Breakfast: 2 eggs (scrambled or fried using PAM, not butter). 2 slices of ham 1 slice of bread (15 grain) 1 tbsp of peanut butter on the bread Snacks: 2 slices of bread (15 grain) 2 Tspn of peanut butter Lunch varies so I'd have to list it, but I try to keep it under control. Today it's: 1 chicken leg (thigh and drum stick) 1 cup of Alfredo pasta Dinner will also have a chicken leg and I'll figure out the side when I get home. I'd like to go full paleo but eating like that is more expensive than I'd rather do right now.
  5. I keep trying to eat decent, but I dont see a lot of improvement. I mean, I wonder if snacking in between meals is hurting me. I guess I'm mostly frustrated because I haven't been able to workout so far.
  6. Also, I'm wondering of modifying my meals. Right now I'm considering dropping my snacks, and breakfast, lunch and dinner would be spaced an equal 5.5 hours apart.
  7. Thank you! Gotta figure something out since weather isn't cooperating. Tornado warning yesterday afternoon and it's raining again this morning. If this afternoon is No better then I'll end up doing a routine in my apartment. Also, I'm mqking it a daily goal of 30 pull ups (probably sets of 5). I found some bars at work that would work.
  8. Thank you, I'll keep that in mind as I get back into working out. ************* It's been one week since the recruit set on this Quest and although the illness seems to be leaving his body, the works seems not to want to make things easy. The sound of heavy rain could be heard from outside. "Great..." Not only is it raining steadily, but having gotten rid of a cold a day ago did not make running in this appealing. He'd have yo wait until the afternoon, hoping for better weather and clear skies. All He could do was pay attention to his food intake and wait for the skies to clear out. *********** I checked the scale this morning before eating or drinking. Week 2: 212.2 I figure I gained 3 pounds after getting rid of my cold, I was dehydrated and I felt like hell so I was expecting my true weight to be at or around that. I'm 5'8" so I'm way over what I should be.
  9. So far so Good, meals have been avoiding fast food. I might just switch logging method to a simple notepad. All logging is meant to do for me is keep myself accountable of what I eat. Which is abbot more time consuming in the app than a piece of paper. I can finally breathe thru my nose, but as I woke up today, I saw it's raining. makes me wonder what I'll do when I start running and working out outside and it's raining... I'll have to adapt to that I guess.
  10. Thanks, I did start thd current 6 week challenge, gotta figure out How to link it. Goals are kinda simple really, mostly about increasing performance and losing weight while eating better. I do want to do a lot of circuit workouts, the best shape I was in my life was out of bootcamp and I did 0 weight lifting then.
  11. Now, who says our challenge meets the goals of the first mini.
  12. Well Thank you! I was beginning to think I was talking to myself hahaha. I can't wait to take to the streets and run, it's been a while and it's warming up so I won't feel like I'm dying in a 1/4 mile run!
  13. *let's give this character some 3rd person stuff... I'm still trying this out* It's the morning of the fourth day, the moon is nothing but a thin half circle, almost invisible behind the morning mist. The sky turns pale blue as the sun rises earlier each day. The recruit looks out the window, wondering what new things will come today, and yet dreading the monotony of each day of labor. His life became dull since his military days ended and so had his body which now struggled to get rid of illness. His mind felt slightly clearer, his pain slightly relieved and yet aware it's peak efficiency had not been reached yet. All he was reduced to was counting the days before he could explore the limits of his body. He added the best fuel He could each day, mindful not to poison himself with things that would hold him bacK and hamper his Quest. "One day at a time..." He reminded himself, looking outside as the horizon turned blazing orange, as if a massive fire erupted to the east over the hills. "One day closer..." and He fell back into his thought, as He reminded himself to make each day a small victory in his plans... ********** Oh man, I started feeling better today, can't wait to start running and stuff next week. I'm excited! I avoided eating a big muffin at work yesterday! Grabbed hold of my compulsive desire to eat everything and passed. I also felt like hell in the afternoon and almost had McDonald's for dinner, I managed to convince myself to cook instead. The scale reads 209. It used to read 213 last I looked at it. I'll do so each Monday morning Thru the challenge. It might be partly because I got sick so we'll see if it goes up when my health is restored. I wonder if anyone's read any of this...
  14. Hey guys, So Im joining the rebellion, again. My first attempt at this did not go as planned and certain outside forces made me have to start over using a new nickname. A brief intro on me, I'm a mechanic, the kind that works on things that fly . I'm also an USMC vet, and since my end of service and having a son, I've gained a lot more weight than I'd like. Anyhow, That's mostly my story, I'm here to get fit and get my body back! I joined the current challenge and I'm excited to start this over! Drop by and leave some feedback please!
  15. Dawn approaches on the third day... My health hasn't improved. Not a great start to all the goals I had but I will not lose faith. As I commute to my job, my mind wanders through all the things I want to achieve, and the thought of feeling healthy, having a clear mind and your body at peak efficiency. Soon... it's more than just running, more than just pushing... it's about discipline and mine shall not waver. I will continue to fuel my body as best I can. There hasn't been any major deviations from what I had planned. And when my body joins my mind, I will shoot like a bat out of hel. But for now... is just about patience and not losing sight of the goal... Soon.... *Hey guys, I hope you got the idea of what's going on. My fitness pal is particularly difficult if you're preparing home made meals. I'd have to scan every ingredient which is really a pain. Besides that, I'm quitting the gym, it's getting warm enough for me to workout outside plus I'll save some money. I wonder if writing in third person is better for RP *
