  1. Week 2, Update 1: Week One went well, goal wise. Goal 1:2/3 trips to the gym Goal 2: 3/3 outside exercise sessions. Goal 3: 6/7 paleo days. Changes: -I think I'm gonna' go at least two weeks without looking at the scale. It feels like I'm undercutting myself, like I have to keep checking up on myself. I'm just going to have faith that my diet and exercise are working. -I already changed my second goal, but I think I'm going to ahead and change the third one as well. I'm confident that I could carry on with the paleo diet, but I fear that once this challenge is complete, I won't be able to handle myself around non-paleo foods. If I can incorporate grains and dairy into my diet now, then I'll be able to consume them respectfully in the future. And that's really what I want from this challenge: good habits. So, my third goal now is to find a calorie limit for my diet and stay under that.
  2. Week 1 Update #2: Things have gotten off to a very rocky start. Since starting this challenge, my body seems to have lost all ability to lose weight. I don't feel like I'm eating that much, but perhaps I need to look into tracking my calories. I'm also concerned with my current exercise regiment. After my workout on Thursday, I felt absolutely awful. Not just tired, but physically sick. I could say that I was actually sick, but the timing seemed too on the nose. I woke up without any energy, and I had to push my self to go for my hour outside, going at a reduced pace than previous outings. That is why I believe I should reduce my hour-long outings to half-an-hour sessions in hopes to preserving at least a small amount of energy for writing, school, etc. I'm disappointed in my current eating habits and in the fact that I'll have to tone down my workouts, but I'd much rather delay completing my Main Quest than beating myself into a pulp. Despite my lack luster performance, I have every intention to continue my challenge. I really hope I can see improvement in next week. I also hope that everyone else is having a better start to their challenge!
  3. I was just about to adjust one of my goals when I read this. I'm sure it's okay. What ever makes you healthy and happy is what you should be doing, right?
  4. Thanks to the both of you. I can't wait to see you two rock this challenge!
  5. Wow, you are really close! I can't wait to see you conquer this challenge.
  6. Can I just say I love your naming scheme for this challenge (Lightning Strikes a yoga pose...)? It's just so clever. Glad to see your off to such a great start. It's cool to see a challenge that requires art supplies. I always have grand plans for art projects, but never take the time to go through with them. I hope you have much better luck on yours, and all of your challenges for that matter.
  7. Day One, and you're off to a great start! I forgot to add it into my challenge, but I too struggle with going to bed/getting up on time. Reading your posts convinced me to start working on better sleeping habits.
  8. Sure sounds like it. Day One Update: Starting weight: 178.2 lbs. -A little higher than I anticipated but nothing to be daunted by. If anything, it's a reason to work harder. -I did my first activity for the challenge: One hour walk outside (the gym starts tomorrow. Fingers crossed). I decided to use the app RunKeeper, and really liked it. Its five minute updates keep making me challenge myself to walk faster. I know, it's called RunKeeper. But I'm not there yet. I walked 3.6 miles and had an average pace of 16: 47, so now I have a starting point and will hopefully be able to bring that latter number down gradually over the coming weeks. -Paleo diet went off without a hitch. My food intake is down noticeably from pre-challenge, and I can't even tell a difference energy/hunger wise. -I've yet to get my NaNo word goal for today yet, but I'll get right on that. Promise! Next update will be up around Friday. Thanks for reading!
  9. Sorry. I missed the question about NaNoWriMo. Thanks for answering it. They also hold "Camp NaNOWriMo" in April and June (or is it July?).
  10. Thanks guys. I'll definitely keep this thread updated and be here to cheer you all on as well!
  11. Thanks! Yeah, I've definitely felt the "I need a break!" feeling before. But six weeks seems like a short enough time to accomplish my goals without becoming too jaded. Also, I'm sure I'll be taking a break on vacation, so hopefully my impulses can wait 'til then.
