Well, I am back! Last time I was on here I was a ranger elf trying her hand out with the paleo diet and just finished the orientation level. Well, I am back and since then figured out that the paleo diet did not work out for me. Once I had changed my eating habits to a more balanced type of diet, that was when the pounds start to come off. I had lost about 20-25 lbs but still have a long way to go. I had also taken up 5K running and so far have 3 5K's under my belt for the year. I had also signed up for a obstacle course run in June 2017 so I am preparing for that. My struggle is that I lack consistency and am trying to change that. I even chose a heck of a time to do it-during the holiday season!
I came back because I want to start having fun on my journey. Hopefully, I will stick around to get past the level I was on!

Ranger Optional Mini-challenge: The first expedition
soldier replied to DarK_RaideR's topic in Rangers
Am running a bit late for the challenge but, I am coming along with the mini challenge, since I had been able to accomplish the endurance challenge for the week. So here is my race, class, and feats. I am going to attempt to roleplay this one so bear with me I had never roleplayed before. Better late than never! Race: Field Elf Class: Mercenary Endurance Feat: 4 mile walk with full ruck Strength Feat: PR my military press with 24 kg kettlebell with both left and right sides Speed Feat: Do 200 swings in 10 minutes (that will be 20 reps at the top of every minute) Combat Feat: Do a 20 minute yoga workout 3x a week Healing Feat: Take the time to meal plan once a week The Mercenary Field Elf was walking from her old post and into the unpredictable world ahead of her. On her back, she carried her worldly belongings as well as her quiver of arrows. In one hand she carried her bow to help her hunt for her next meal as well as self defense, if the occasion arises. She has no name, most people refer to her as Soldier, for her military bearing. The name is also reminiscent of a time when she served for the Marlok Army in the Archer's Unit. The Field Elf was on her way to join a notorious group of men and women, a rare breed of warriors of whom she had heard many great stories about. This brave group of men and women called themselves the Rangers. She first heard of these great stories from a seasoned Ranger who had visited her old post. She also learned from the Ranger about what they stand for as well. As soon as she was done speaking with him, she knew right away, this is where her niche was. To be one of the brave warriors that called themselves the Rangers. She was making her way to meet the group at an old farm a few miles away from her old post. She got held back at her old post due to some tasks that came up that had to be taken care of before she made her way to the group. Once the tasks were accomplished, she was free to go on her way. She finally made it to the old farm. She found that the farm was empty with only a handful of bystanders around. She asked one of the bystanders where the group went. He pointed the way to her and gave her the directions to catch up with them. She thanked him and continued on with her journey to catch up with the group. In her mind, she was concerned about one thing. "What if they don't accept me, due to my tardiness or perhaps they may think I don't have what it takes." She thought. She took a drink from her canteen of water and wiped the sweat from her brow. It was a hot day and the sun was beating down on her mercilessly. Her load was also heavy which didn't make the journey any better. But, being the old Marlok soldier she was, she persevered and kept going. "I had been in tougher marches than this. This is nothing." She thought. Than from a distance, she saw it. She saw the group of legendary warriors on their way to the outpost. "Finally!",she thought, "Now, all I need to do is knuckle down and pick up my pace and I should be able to catch up with the group." She picked up her pace and finally caught up with some of the people at the end of the crowd. "Excuse me, but is this the group of Rangers on their way to the outpost?" she asked one of the Rangers. He answered, "Yes, it is. Are you trying to join this group? You are rather late." Soldier replied, "Yes, I know and I had journeyed quite a ways from my old post to catch up with you all." "Who are you and what business do you have!" a slender man, dressed in camo, with black hair, and aviator glasses pointing his M4 at her demanded. "I go by Soldier, and I am a Field Elf Mercenary on my way to join the Rangers. I promise to mean no harm to you or your group and all I want to do is join this group to the outpost.", she said this as she dropped her quiver of arrows, bow and ruck to the ground. "You're late! Why did it take you so long?" he yelled in a gruff voice. "I apologize for my tardiness sir, I got held back at my old post because there were some important tasks that I had to take care of before I made my way to join the Rangers." answered Soldier. "Hey, there you are!" yelled another voice. It was a voice that Soldier recognized. She knew it was the voice of the man she spoke to that inspired her to join the Rangers way back at her old post. The man had bluish skin and was on his way to meet the two at the end of the crowd. "You know her? I thought you said that you weren't that sociable?" asked the camoed man. The bluish man answered, "Yes, I do. I met her back at the training post. And when it comes to being sociable, it depends. I spoke with her because she showed some great skills that are essential to that of a Ranger. At the time she was not sure if she wanted to be an Assassin or a Ranger, so I spoke with her about the Rangers and I guess she was convinced that being a Ranger was her path." "Well, Soldier, I guess today is your lucky day. I was about to shoot you right where you were standing because I thought you were up to no good." said the camoed man as he lowered his M4. "Soldier, this is General Ayers, he assigned me to lead this group." said the bluish man. "Do you remember who I am, Soldier?" "Yes, I do, sir. You go by Raider, I think." answered Soldier. "Yes, you are right. I am happy that you finally made your way to our group. I know that your skills will be a great asset to the Rangers." replied Raider. "What skills do you have?" asked the General. "I am skilled with the bow and arrow and with tactical movements. I had served in the Marlok Army and can use different weapons besides the bow and arrow such as that M4 you are carrying, sir." answered Soldier. "I stay in fighting shape using this piece of equipment," she said as she reached into her ruck and pulled out something that looked like a cannonball with a handle on it. "it is called a kettlebell, I also perform different stretching poses to keep my flexibility up to snuff as well." "Alright, Soldier. Since you just came from a training post, you are technically a rookie. I want you to understand that I don't waste a truck a diesel on you rookies and that we are making the way by foot." said the General. "Don't worry, sir. I can hold my own. I caught up with the group by foot anyway." replied Soldier. "Good. Welcome to the group, Ranger. I'll have Raider brief you on the rest of the mission and wish you best of luck on your first mission as a Ranger." said the General. "Thank you, sir!" Soldier said happily. She raised her right hand to salute General Ayers. General Ayers looked at her, waved her off and went on his way. Soldier picked up her ruck, bow, and quiver of arrows and joined Raider and the rest of the Rangers on their way to the next outpost. The "extra tasks" was the work at my job picking up. I got so busy, I nearly forgot about the challenge. But, I had kept up with exercise and diet, so didn't completely forget everything. -
Hello everyone. I am moving into the Rangers Guild just coming from the Recruits Guild! Am looking forward to the next challenge which is starting in a couple weeks and all the adventures that may entail! But stopping by to say hi and to introduce myself. Have a great weekend!

I had seen your posts around on the different threads when I was surfing around the site. You can't imagine my surprise when I noticed you posted on my thread. Thank you for your complement about my kettlebell skill, but believe me, I still have a lot to learn. I think that it is impressive that you self taught yourself how to use kettlebells. When I firist learned about kettlebells, I tried self-teaching myself with them too. When I did more research on the them, I finally seeked the help of an RKC ketlebell instructor per the advice I recieved from the different articles that I read about the kettlebells, (mainly because I wasn't sure I was doing the different moves correctly or not). Right now, I am setting my sights on the SFG. I have a long ways to go though. But I would like to follow your challenge in return too, if you don't mind. I look forward to speaking with you next challenge!

The Odyssey of a Ranger-Battle Log
soldier replied to soldier's topic in Daily Battle Logs and Epic Quests
Well, just about to graduate the recruit guild and moving onto the Ranger Guild! I am totally pumped up for this next challenge! I have decided on the first day of my second challenge, I am going to adapt a story line type of format. I am not a gamer and I really don't read or watch a lot of fantasy or sci-fi type of stories or movies (not that I don't enjoy them), so I can't really base my storyline off of a certain book, a movie (well, maybe Lord of Rings which I imagine is very typical), or a game unfortunately. But, I have been blessed with a very large imagination and had decided to make up something up on my own. I have some ideas from mainly watching fantasy movies in the past but actually making it my own. So, if there are people who are fantasy or sci-fi fanatics, and had noticed that my story is closely related to another story (I do know that there are many, many stories in those types of genres) I do apologize I am not taking credit for something that is not my own but a huge coincidence. But, bear with me because it has been a very long time since I had written a story (probably since high school). I need to start brain storming my new quests for this next challenge as well. I believe once I get my new quests and decide on a reward scheme, I can start building up my story around that. But, that is about it for now. I will talk some more about my story once I get a little bit more brainstorming going on. Good night!- 4 replies

Before the challenge, I had checked out the different guilds and was torn between the assassins and rangers. I had made my decision a few days before the start of this current challenge to be a ranger. Reason: because I am using kettlebells for exercise and kettlebells are used quite a bit in Crossfit and I have some long-term goals that have a lot to do with the kettlebells. I am not a crossfitter but a kettlebell fanatic. So, the rangers was the best guild for me. Also, I had an opportunity to talk to the guild leader and some other Rangers. I think later in the future to go assassin because I had been doing some research on parkour and it seems like a lot of fun. I just don't think that I am ready physically ready for it just yet. Well, at the end of this odyssey of mine, I will be packing my bags and moving into the Ranger guild to begin a whole new adventure. I wish everyone prosperity and success in future quests!

OK, so here is the recipe for the Moroccan Chicken from The Primal Blueprint Cookbook by Mark Sisson and Jennifer Meier. This will finish the mini challenge for week 5. Morrocan Chicken Ingredients: 2 tbsp of oil (I used olive oil) 1 onion, finely diced 3 garlic cloves, finely diced 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 and 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp coriander 1/2 tsp cumin 1/4 tsp cayenne (optional) 4 chicken thighs 1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes in juice 2 cups water 1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro 1 lemon, thinly diced 2 cups green beans, cut in half 1/4 cup finely chopped mint juice from 1 lemon Instructions: 1. Place onions, garlic, and ginger in Dutch oven or sauce pan and saute in oil until soft or slightly browned. 2. Add the turmeric, cinnamon, paprika, coriander, cumin and cayenne and saute for a minute. 3. Add chicken, tomatoes, cilantro and sliced lemon. 4. Simmer with lid on for 30 minutes. 5. Add the green beans, mint and lemon juice then simmer for a few more minutes or until the green beans are done. 6. Can serve over cauliflower rice. I cut up a whole head of cauliflower into florets. I put the florets in a food processor and pulse it a few times until the cauliflower takes on the appearance of rice. If you don't have a food processor, you can use a cheese grater and grate the florets. NOTE: If you don't like the stew to be too spicy hold back a little with the turmeric, cayenne, and paprika and use more cinnamon and cumin. I checked out Mark's Daily Apple website and I found a similar recipe called Moroccan Chicken Casserole (the above recipe is more like a stew). It calls for a lot of the same ingredients as the above recipe. If interested in the casserole version of the recipe you can find it here.

Hello, I had been a while because on top of work getting more busy, getting involved with religious life, my husband just had surgery just a couple days ago on his knee. I haven't been on because I had spent the days before his surgery getting ready for it and these last couple days taking care of him. So, I haven't really been there to keep up with the challenges. I noticed that Blaidd had responded on our thread, so I think she had been busy. Still trying to chug along on my quests. Since this is the last week of the challenge, I am going to catch up on my mini quests. Choosing a recipe for the last mini quest was tough because I couldn't decide what I liked best. But I think the best paleo recipe I had so far was the paleo version of Moroccan Chicken. I got it out of The Primal Blueprint Cookbook and it is has a strong citrus flavor (calls for a lot of lemons is why), but I think out of all the paleo recipes, it turned out to be the best. I will add a summary later this week. I will be posting both mini quests on my own personal thread and the Campus Tour thread. But, just wanted to keep everyone updated on what is going on with me. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hahaha! DarK_RaideR, I am doing much better thank you! Today, I don't have the stomach pain. I don't know if there is a bug going around or if it was something that I ate. I know that I will get on top of the kettlebell training for today. Looking at the posts on the Campus Tour thread, somebody took note that Blaidd hadn't logged in since the 7th which is a week ago from today. Somebody else in the group checked out other recruit challenges in the past and found that on this week we should share a favorite recipe. They went ahead and took initiative and posted the challenge for us so at least we have something to hopefully earn points for the week. I am going to do it anyway, since I feel a little lost without our fearless leader (which I am hoping she is doing alright). I am tempted to send her a message, but since she hasn't logged in, I am really wondering if there is much of a point to try, you know? Well, thanks for checking in, hope you have a good day!

Well, don't know what is going on with Miss Blaidd (guild leader), but we haven't had our mini challenge for the week. She is really good about letting the team know what the next challenge is the beginning of the week. I hope she is doing alright. Right now, I am under the weather. There has been this bug going around in which it involves upset stomachs and vomitting. Luckily, I don't have the vomtting part ot it, but the upset stomach, yes. My stomach started to ache yesterday afternoon right after lunch. It felt like somebody punched me in my stomach. I was not feeling too good at all. This morning, I woke up to stomach pain, but it is in a lower part of my abdomen, so am hoping that whatever it is that is upsetting my stomach is finally passing through. Right now, the pain isn't as bad, but my stomach is still uneasy. I hope the next couple of days, I will be better. I was really hoping to get on top of my kettlebell training beginning this week, but that didn't turn out as planned. I have been consuming more water though. Because of my condition, I am not feeling up to eating right now. I need to eat to get better. But, right now all I want to consume is Pepto-Bismol and 7 Up. I really need to get going with the day, Hope everyone's day starts out a lot better than mine.

The Odyssey of a Ranger-Battle Log
soldier replied to soldier's topic in Daily Battle Logs and Epic Quests
Oh my goodness! I actually responded to my thread not tomorrow or next week but later this evening! OK, enough with the sarcasm, here is the kettlebell program that my instructor made some time ago: Day 1: Dynamic Swings > 150 reps Cleans >75 reps Farmers and rack walks >200 yards Day 2: Grind TGU > 6 reps/side Press 5 sets of 5 reps Squats 5 sets of 5 reps pause 2 secs on bottom Day 3: Dynamic and Grind TGU 3/side any weight Swings 15 sets of 15 reps < 20 min. 2 kb press walks 20 yds x 10 sets Day 4: Grind and Dynamic TGU 1/1 x each weight you can use 2 kb clean and front squat 5 x 5 + 15 sec plank 2 kb clean and press 5 x 5 2 kb swing 10 x 10 TGU 2/2 as heavy as is safe add Everyday: barefoot walking and walking on toes That is it! All I really need to do for the last weeks of my current challenge is to take it seriously. I think that I I would like to add a little bit to the training that would help to build up to the snatch. Also, aside from kettlebell training, I forgot to share that I bought some paleo recipe books. I got the Nom Nom Paleo cook book by Michelle Tam and Henry Fong. I had just started reading it and she is one funny lady. Her recipes look great too. I look forward to cooking some of them. I also got It Starts with Food and The Whole 30 both written by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig. Currently, I am going to start researching what it is and I am going to start doing the The Whole 30 on the next challenge. Just sharing what I am about to do in the future. Everybody have a good night!- 4 replies

The Odyssey of a Ranger-Battle Log
soldier replied to soldier's topic in Daily Battle Logs and Epic Quests
Alright, time to focus on the Battle Log. It is pretty sad that I title this the "Daily Battle Log" but had only written two posts since I had started it around late April. Plus, I keep saying "I'll update later in the day." or "Will talk tomorrow." but never do, kinda makes me look like a liar. I do not consider myself a compulsive liar, but lately it seems like I have, so I do apologize for it. But for starters, I am in the middle of the Recruit six week challenge and we are about to finish week four. I just recently leveled up to and earned 10 points and had to allocate our points depending upon how well we were able to commit to our quests. Part of it is to get a mid challenge summary. I am very glad that we did that because it was a wake-up call for me and it gave me an idea what I had done well and what I still need to work on. What I had done well in the challenge is my transition to the paleo lifestyle. I was able to do it by getting my handy dandy paleo cookbook out, pick out recipes that I would like to make or try out, make a meal plan, get a shopping list together, go shopping, and get cooking! I also give myself a cheat meal during the week so that way, I don't feel completely deprived. They say that paleo is one of those diets that you don't have to count calories. I had done the counting calorie route and honestly, I think that it is a hassle. I am going to try it out without counting calories, and see what happens. I really hope it works out! Another thing that I had done well, is paying done my debt. I am a payment away in paying off one of my credit cards. I still have to pay off one more credit card and student loans, but I am getting closer! I did start yoga. I am not doing it three times a week like I should, but I did start! I enjoy it so far! Now, what I am not doing well in. Of all the things that I should be doing, I had barely kicked off the kettlebell training. I haven't drinking my daily intake of water as I should., but on a good note I had cut back on the soda drinking. I had been drinking coffee and tea mainly. But, if you want more detail, check out my thread on the recruit challenge. Here is my meal plan for the week: Sunday-Thursday and Saturday: Breakfast: 2 hard-boiled eggs Lunch: Paleo Jambalaya with mashed parsnips Snack: Salad with chicken, paleo ranch dressing and bacon Dinner: Liver and onions with bacon (yes, I like this dish, I know yuck right?) On Friday it will start off the same, but that that evening, I get to have my cheat meal. It could be a super carb loaded homemade meal, a meal from a nice restaurant, or a Double-Whopper combo meal from Burger King. Whatever I like. I had my list from my kettlebell instructor of my kettlebell program, but will need to look for it. It won't take me long because it is saved on my computer. Will keep you updated (Oh, here I go again) about what it is later. Hey, I said later not tomorrow or tonight, but later. But, I will try my darndest to make it daily! Thanks for listening. I apologize for not being very sociable or keeping up on the thread. Work had picked up a bit, so have been focusing on that. The last few days, we had some very rainy weather and my internet service has been very spotty to say the least. I had accomplished the mini challenge 3 so far and I posted it on the Campus Tour thread. I wish I could say that I had been going through these past four weeks with flying colors, but I haven't sadly. So far, the accomplishments that I had made is transitioning over to the paleo diet lifestyle, which I have to admit is a bit of a different style of cooking, at least for me. But, my food still comes out edible (not saying that I am a bad cook, but had a couple of recipes where it didn't turn out like its suppose to) and quite tasty. I had been drinking soda even less than usual now. I use to drink 5+ sodas a day and I had gone through an entire week without soda. Although, my soda drinking is almost eradicated (I had a couple days where I had one, but still a lot better than 5+), I haven't made much of an effort on bringing up my water intake. Water is just too bland for me. I am going to try out infused water (adding fruits) and see how that works out. I think with a little flavor added to it, I will be more apt to drinking water. I heard that drinking flavored carbonated water helps too, but am a bit skeptical. I was able to start yoga, which is great and I do thoroughly enjoy it! I realize that I am a lot flexible than I thought and learned how to breathe through the different moves that can be a bit challenging. Unfortunately, I have not been hitting those kettlebells as much as I should. You would think with the goals that I have, I would be knocking out sets upon sets of swings, cleans, presses, etc. but I haven't. I am really discouraged, ashamed and embarrassed of myself for not keeping up like I should. I think that will be my goal for the final two weeks of my challenge: get my butt in gear on my kettlebell training! Or as one of Steve Kamb's articles would say, "Put your hard hat on!" I would say that the life quest is the only one that is turning out swimmingly. I had a stroke of luck in my finances and used some of my money to pay a huge chunk of debt down, which is one of my credit cards. I am proud to say that I have one more payment to make to pay off that credit card! Yay! I still have one more credit card and student loan to go. It feels great to know that I am a little bit closer to getting out of debt. So, I say these past four weeks haven't been very bad, not up to the standard that I would like, but not bad. I am just glad that I had made some effort despite my increasingly busy schedule, and what's funny is that I expect it to get better. Funny, because usually when other things pop up in my life and I am trying to get a healthy lifestyle going, I loose focus on that healthy lifestyle and start putting all my focus on the other things that are going on. Despite work getting more busy and getting more involved in my religious life I had still made a given effort on my healthy lifestyle and actually sticking with it! Granted that I am not perfect and am not totally a hundred percent on my healthy lifestyle, I am getting there (of course, I do realize that I am not perfect even if I am 99.9% there on my healthy lifestyle). Well, I got this whole post put together to not only give you an up-to-date report on where I am at health wise, but to give myself an idea on how I am going to distribute my 10 points. The dexterity, which I will use for the yoga training, I will give myself 1.6 points. The stamina and strength which is used for kettlebell training, I will give 1 point for stamina but 0.5 points for the strength. The constitution, which will be used for the paleo diet I will give 2 points. The wisdom, which I will use for my life quest, I will give 2 points. Finally, charisma which isn't part of my quests but I will give myself a 0.5 point on, because I haven't done a very good job keeping up with my threads and following and encouraging others very much. I know that I had stated that I would find a time to sit at the computer and update, but haven't unfortunately. That will be another goal to knuckle down on as well for the final two weeks of the challenge--being consistent in updating my threads. So, I am catching up with mini challenge 3. 1. I had found that I am having a hard time trying to find the motivation to exercise. So far, I am getting better with my eating habits, but II really don't want to exercise. 2. I found a couple of good articles by Steve Kamb. This article is actually specific to my problem. Also this article had some great pieces of advice as well. Some advice that I had learned from the first article is whenever I make excuses or complain, I only do that while I am getting dressed in my workout clothes and "showing up to exercise" counts. Showing up as in if I don't feel like exercising, I can go out for a walk for ten minutes. The second article gave some advice on starting small and being held accountable. 3. So far, I had taken advantage of the "showing up" advice, just yesterday I took a mile walk with my dog. Starting tonight, I am going to dress in my workout clothes before I go to bed. I generally use the Nerd Fitness site to help me keep accountable by logging into my battle log. That is about it. I am glad that we had this challenge because I did not realize this site had quite a few articles that can help you out if you are in a rut or struggling. I noticed that other challengers had used different forums as resources as well. I haven't looked at any forums that may help with my struggle but will check it out.

Hello muddydancer, Thank you for the interesting article. I am sorry I haven't responded quickly, I had been busy with life in general. It has been a bit of a struggle the last few days, but I should be right on track this week. I have set up my meal plan and have my food ready. I will let you know more on my battle log. Right now, I just got to catch up with the threads and challenge. Talk to you later.

The Odyssey of a Ranger-Battle Log
soldier replied to soldier's topic in Daily Battle Logs and Epic Quests
Hello, I know that I said that I would start my battle log yesterday, but forgot. So I am filling in what I did yesterday now, so I won't forget again. I will place another post about my battles today later. April 28, 2015 Just finished week 2 of my yoga workout. The workout is about 20 minutes long. It was very relaxing but still a tough workout. Afterwards I took a ten minute walk. That is as far as I had gotten in exercise yesterday. Today I will incorporate a little bit more and add kettlebells to the picture. Still need to clean up my eating, but everyday I am incorporating more of the good-for-you foods I am supposed to eat. But, it is part of the odyssey. I am going to have my valleys and hills or bad and good days. But as I walk through the valley, I notice everyday, it gets a little better. But, to end on a good note, I have so far maintained a three day streak in not drinking soda. I am pretty proud of myself for that! Have a great hump day!- 4 replies

Yeah, from what I had read about people who were able to successfully lose weight, gain muscle, etc., the one thing that helped them achieve their fitness goal was to make exercise a priority. At times, I have a hard time making time for exercise, or I have so much come up in one day or misjudge what I can do in one day, before I know it, it is time for bed! Makes me wish that there are more hours in a day. Peacecraft, sounds like you and I are in the same boat about discipline. I hope that in the next few weeks, we can figure out what we can do in a day and still get our exercise in.

Doing good! I was busy over the weekend trying to perfect my signature. I am still trying to find a chance to look over some other profiles and figure out how I am going to get my story going. Yesterday, I did a whole bunch of cooking for the week. I just got going with yoga last week, and I love it! Sadly, I have not been walking as much as I like to and have picked out my kettlebell program, just haven't started it yet. I joined a couple of accountability groups, just started a battle log (which tonight, I will start writing in it). I may have to set a time to sit at the computer and actually write or keep up with my threads and accountability groups, so that way I am not stuck at the computer for long periods of time trying to get everything caught up, and I won't leave people wondering where I am at. I think overall I am doing good and have taken quite of few proactive steps in my health. Still need to kick start kettlebell training, but I think I will get into the swing of things (no pun intended ) this week. Hey, I just got an idea on what I am still having an uphill challenge on my one of my quests: learning to discipline myself to workout and be consistent with it. It is one of our mini quests from our guild leader. She is trying to teach us to use the resources on Nerd Fitness. I think that is why I haven't started taking working out seriously yet, I have the motivation, just lack to self-discipline to do it. But, I am hoping that will change within the next few weeks. But, how have you been doing? I hope your week is turning out well!

Hello, this is my first page of my Daily Battle Log, so don't have a whole lot to share as of right now, or nothing to show on training since I am on Newbie status and still a recruit. So far, I had started yoga last week which is the second week of the challenge. The first week was used mainly to get ready to go, food wise, picking out my kettlebell training program which my instructor had made for me some time ago. My diet of choice is paleo. I find a lot of the foods on the paleo diet are much more filling for me and I don't go overboard and eat too much. I have the Primal Blueprint Cookbook and have been taking a lot of my recipes from that. Starting today, I am going to quit drinking soda (I am attempting cold turkey and will record whether I was successful for the day on the battle log.) I honestly do think that soda is really sabotaging my efforts in losing weight/getting healthy efforts. My ultimate goal is to get in shape enough to become a StrongFirst Girevik kettlebell instructor one day. As of right now, I am too out of shape, don't have the strength of stamina to go through the course. I am hoping from my membership from Nerd Fitness is to gain the motivation to achieve that ultimate goal. Wish everyone the best of luck. Will hear more detailed info from me tommorow!

Hi! I am Soldier and this is my first accountabilibuddies group and I chose this group because I am trying to get into a paleo lifestyle (diet) which means eating less or no sugar and consuming more fruits and veggies. I figured that this would be the best place to start and I am also really new to Nerd Fitness. Wish everyone the best of luck and keep up the good work! Thanks, Soldier
