  1. Apologies on the tardiness in reply and general updating! These past two weeks have been a little crazy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goals: - Complete four weeks of Couch to 5K - 15 XP (XP MOVED TO FARRELL'S PROGRAM) Welp, I haven't even started on this guy. I've been far too focused on Farrell's to even work on this. I'm getting my ass whooped so I think this guy is gonna have to drop - Beginner Bodyweight Workout every other day CHANGED: Complete four weeks of the 10 Week Challenge at Farrell's - 25 XP (Signing up = 5 XP ✓ ) Ho shit this past week has kicked my ass. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are all kickboxing at this gym, while Tuesday and Thursday are strength training with bands and exercise balls. The challenge hasn't quite started (starts this next Monday), but this week is Friends and Family, where those mentioned can come in to check out the gym, but they don't change the workouts for the newbies? So anywho, I'm already building up endurance and have done better over the last two days compared to earlier this week, which hopefully means I'll do fairly decently once they start us on the newb course next week. - Rest on Sundays - 5 XP Does playing d&d and splitting the team count as resting? I require opinions... - Meal Prep lunches and dinners on Sunday each week - 25 XP Okay, so I got all the lunches prepped for the week and only half of the dinner, so I think it's progressing alright. It didn't help that I figured the plan out on Sunday after my d&d game, then went shopping, and just didn't have enough time to finish. SO. Tonight, I'm trying to finish a meal plan for next week so we can get shopping done on Saturday so I can prep on Sunday. - Start doing deadlifts (working towards 50lbs total at end of challenge) - 15 XP I want to figure out a way to include this still, but it might be tough with the way this program is formatted. I'll have to ask what the band weight equivalents are? Still isn't a comparison though... Hmmmm... - Establish and enact for 30 days a morning and evening routine - 10 XP I have successfully failed at this everyday this week, so starting tomorrow, we're making an active choice to enact that plan. - Go on a date with Ben - 15 XP ✓ SUCCESS. We went on a date on Monday (Bowling! I totally crushed him in the last game ahahahaha) and both were like... yeah we need to go out again, so we're going out again on Monday of this coming week! We both had been hoping to see each other again within this week but work schedules are dumb. Current XP: 20 (1/5 to Level 2)
  2. Hi! I just made it actually! There's a group of us on twitter who are working on bettering ourselves and I'm slowly pulling them over to the forums here XD
  3. First, thanks guys! I mean, I speak fluent Minnesotan sooooo...
  4. Ahaha, he's a guy I've been talking to on OkCupid for the last week and a half or so. We're going on a date on Monday!

  6. Hey all! This is a group for accountability for Critical Role fans! There are a bunch of us on twitter and tumblr who are just starting to explore getting fit and tackling goals, so it's important to have folks who can hold us accountable. Feel free to share links to your 4-week challenge, any blog posts, or anything else you think would be useful! Thanks! Morgan
  7. No particular order, just how they came into my head. XD
  8. Presses [reset]. Hey all! I’m Morgan. I’m a 22 year old cis!female from Minnesota who has tried several times to get healthy. I struggle with clinical depression and am currently in a really low swing, but I’m hoping that focusing on these challenges and being surrounded by community will help. The above photo on the right lists my goals for the next six weeks. I’ll be posting a journal with my current stats (weight, measurements, etc) as well as a full body shot tomorrow. Cheers! -Morgan
  9. Apologies on the lack of updates. This past week and a half I've had my final week at university, my final week at my job, and the first week of rehearsals for a show I am assistant stage managing, so time has been under a lot of strain and I've been under a lot of stress, which reflected on actions over that time. As such, I didn't track my choices each day and am making a judgement call on how I did. (A reminder, Green=1, Orange = 1/2, Red=0) Food wise, I've been decent on making good choices, so those get full points. Meditation I completely failed at. At least half the days I was active and working, but I don't remember which so half points for all. Same sort of idea with the pop, I wasn't sure which days got what, but I know on some days I was better than others. So, half points. Technically still have tomorrow, but for a first challenge, this has definitely helped me figure out what my reflexes are when I'm stressed and how well I can do with a million other things going on. Going forward as I have more time, I should be able to focus better.
  10. Oh thank you. I will go make this. My throat is still crappy so I will def make this. <3
  11. Yeah, sometimes it's hard to look at the positives when I feel like I'm doing horrible, but I've been doing well on eating my fruits and veggies and protein. I need to improve on water and meditation still, but overall doing well. Also the no pop thing I've been kinda crappy about lately... hmm. I have some goals in mind for the next challenge already, so that's good. Now if only this cough and phlegm would go away, everything would be great.
  12. MORGAN'S BEEN A PIECE OF SHIT WHO STILL HAS A FUCKING COUGH AND SNIFFLES AND UGH SO I TYPED ALL THIS ALREADY AND THEN SOMEHOW FUCKED UP MY TAB AND IT ALL DISAPPEARED SO HERE'S A QUICK VERSION: I keep falling back on old habits and getting bad about exercise and meditation, which I can see affecting my days. SOOOOOOOOO. Today I am going to do better. And then tomorrow I'm going to do better. And I'm just going to keep repeating that. 'Cause that seems all I can do right now. I'll keep y'all updated.
  13. Yeah, I mean, I won't lie and say I'm not worried about money in the future, but we'll see what happens. It helps that I have connections out in New York already because my uncle stage manages out there.
  14. Oh yeah, I've seen his Ted Talk. Really good. Ahah, I'd need a really big scanner to share them or just to take some crappy photos of them. Maybe I'll try to take a picture of a couple of em. I'm a Theatre - Tech/Design major which means I'm forced to take art courses even though it doesn't really do anything for my area of work, which is stage management. Whatever, it makes me a more rounded person, right? *crooks eyebrow mischieviously* Thanks. We'll see how they go...
  15. Thanks, hopefully I can pull around today. I'm a Theatre Tech/Design major, which means I have to take stupid art courses that have no actual relevance to what I want to do with my life with a stupid prof who I think hates me. That's a lie, but that's how I feel so . Anyways, it just wasn't finished, that was the only issue with it. *shrugs*
  16. Aye aye, sir. I'm in the last three weeks of university, so time is a little hard to find to write about stuff. So, the last two days and today have kinda fluctuated on how I've been doing. So, May 3rd I was super good. I slept in, cleaned up the apartment some more, and meditated. I did the Jedi workout as a Padawan Trainer. I had a lot of issues with the plank section. Whenever I started the plank, I would get a sharp pain in my rib on my right and had to stop about half way through the 5 minute period because it hurt to continue. The squats were easy enough, as were the dumbbell rows, although I don't own any dumbbells at the moment, so I used two suitcases instead (ahahahaaaa.....). I used those for the farmer carry as well. I skipped the shuttle run to do after the rest because I would need to go outside for that one, but doing the push-ups after doing a bunch of arm workouts was a lot harder than I had expected, as was the hang. Unfortunately, I don't have a pull-up bar, but the bunk-beds in the dorm have bars underneath them to keep the people sleeping in them from sinking too far onto the lower bunk, so I did a version of a hang on that and that was difficult. After all that, I grabbed some red plastic cups, went to the backyard, paced out two sets of 5 yards, and did the shuttle runs. I remember when I was younger when those were a breeze. Good Lord how things have changed. I did all 6 sets but I was huffing and puffing once I was done. Following that, I did yard work with the family at their place and then went and saw THE CRUCIBLE at the Guthrie with my mother. Yesterday was rough. Really didn't want to do anything at all, not get out of bed, not go to school, not anything. So, I was decent about doing my walk, parked on the far end of the parking lot from school, walked a little more before actually going to class, ate my greens and fruits, got my protein, but I was shitty about sugar drinks and meditation. I got a venti java chip frappuccino again because we're talking about mental illness in class and people are just not getting it and I'm the only one in the class openly mentally ill and it's so frustrating so I treated myself, but I was angry at myself for getting it. Then I had work and after work I got a large fry and coke from McDonald's because I had to stay up all night to do drawings for drawing class this morning which I then didn't bring in because they weren't worthy of being turned in yet. SO. Today. I think I slept 4 hours? After giving up on working on drawings? Yeah, that's probably right. So, I went to class, gave some feedback on other peoples' drawings, went to an opening talk for a new art exhibit in the college, and then went home because I'm still not feeling well. I picked up some soup for lunch and that was shitty. I also got some chicken caesar salad and a fruit cup, but didn't eat those until dinner. The rest of the day has been a lounge day because I just feel like complete shit. I keep coughing and sneezing and ugggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'll probably do meditation before bed to calm myself, but I don't have the strength to do the exercises today. Hopefully tomorrow I will and I'll do them tomorrow. Ehm.. yeah. @muddydancer - I appreciate the support. I need to start looking for therapist because drugs just don't cut it. Thanks for the ideas and video. On a completely different note, please watch this video because it's one of my favorites.
  17. I can do June 13. Could we maybe play some ball too? Like catch or something?
  18. No worries! It's from the Rooster Teeth Podcast. Rooster Teeth is an awesome internet video content provider. They're the people who made Red vs Blue, which is the longest running online web series. And sorry for the late reply. I just saw this ^^'
  19. Thanks! Stupid nose is super stuffed up and I'm coughing like no other and I have a headache from caffeine withdrawl. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. [pops head in] Hiii New Ranger Recruit, literally started yesterday, from the Twin Cities area. Actually, I'm in my final semester at Bethel U, so yeah! Ehm, my name is Morgan, I'm 22, overweight, depressed, etc. I'm a Gryffindor, ESFJ, stage manager, event technician, and baseball fan/player. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I don't know what else to write...
  21. Hullo! Checking in to say hi. I'm a new recruit planning on joining the Rangers once I finish this first challenge. My name is Morgan, 22, female, from MN but moving to NYC this August. I'm a Gryffindor, ESFJ, and stage manager.
  22. I find frozen veggies in the microwavable bags are super easy and super cheap. They're a really nice way of getting in your veg without breaking your wallet.
  23. Journal - 2 May 2015 - Started at 2:07 pm. Started my day off by waking up at 8 am to the sound of birds chirping a swingy-tune. Honestly, it sounded like a jazz song. Crazy. Ehm, so instead of getting up and working out like I wanted to, I lay in bed till 9:05 am, when I meditated. I feel really sick though, so I won’t be doing any heavy movements today. I might be able to take a walk later on, but my nose is so stuffed up and runny at the same time and my head is killing me and everything hurts. >< I stopped by Target to pick up some food for work (2 bags of frozen broccoli, 1 bag of frozen green beans, 1 four-pack Hawaiian sweet rolls [cheating, I know], 1/4 lb of roast beef deli meat, an avocado, and a bag of red grapes) and then headed off to work. I’ve been at work since 10 am now. All my work really is is sitting at a computer for 8 hours while occasionally checking out equipment to public access users. I’ve had my boss stop in to use our table saw in back and one of our regulars stopped in to get some equipment. I’m expecting one more guy to swing by and then my dad with some meds. I think I’m gonna head home early though. I feel like crap and if I’m to help with strike for Hedda tonight, I’m going to need my strength. [Paused at 2:47 pm] [Finished the following day at 11:23 am] I ended up leaving work early and going home, but not before grabbing a venti java chip frappuchino 'cause I'm the worst. (It was half off, what could I do? I know, I know, I need to work on my discipline.) When I got home I played Tony Hawk ProSkater 3 for a good two hours, while sipping two mugs of chicken broth to help sooth my cold and throat. I ordered a chicken cobb salad and penne chicken alfredo from Davanni's. I ate half the penne alfredo, but stopped half way through because it didn't taste great and because I felt bad about failing the diet once again. After that though, I wasn't very hungry, so I put the chicken cobb in the fridge and I'll eat that today. I cleaned up the apartment and got rid of a lot of junk. I need to get rid of a lot before I move to New York. I can probably take 10% of what I have now. After I did a good bit, I went to bed around midnight. I remember waking up at like 3 am randomly and then went back to bed. Food Intake (As Of 2:47 pm): Four Hawaiian sweet rolls1/4 lb of roast beefan avocado2+ handfuls of red grapes2 l of waterVenti Java Chip Frappuchino2 mugs of chicken brothHalf a thing of Penne Chicken Alfredo
