  3. Thanks everyone, and trust me, I am paying attention to my diet and exercise. Also, I have read up on who trains Miss USA and I am friends with a former Miss USA as well. I am sticking with my goal and going to achieve it and maintain it. What I meant about losing water weight before was I took some water pills before the challenge and lost a good deal of water weight. My expectations are realistic and I will achieve them. I have read up on body fat percentage as well, even before the challenge started. Thing is, no one knows my body except for me. I appreciate the comments, but I am sticking to my plan and will achieve it. And by the way, yes it was 5 lbs I lost, not 5 lbs of water weight, but 5 lbs of fat. and I have maintained it. Don't try to diminish my weight loss at all. I worked very hard for it.
  4. Day 6 Battle Log Lunch 1 cup of cooked ground beef and mushrooms, with 1/2 cup quinoa and bell peppers 1 La croix 1 cup coffee Dinner: grilled chicken breast, tomatoes, some ranch and sweet onion 1 la croix Exercise: 1/2 weights and bum bum from brazilian butt lift. When I think about giving up, whether it is this challenge, or my busy schedule, or even just trying to make a new life for my self else where, I think of the article that steve wrote about Shawshank Redemption and being an "Andy". I don't want to give up and be a wannabe or prisioner. I want to be an Andy and have his positive mindset. I think all of us can relate in some way or another. Everyone has their own "warden" and is just bidding their time and planning their escape. I know I am. I have one more month left to go before I "break out" of my jail cell and go onto a better life. That's all I want. I think the hope of that is what keeps me going. I gotta keep hope alive right now.
  5. Hi Thank you Revolter!!!! Also, I love your quote
  6. I think the 5 pound weight loss this week will taper off, and it will become more of a 1-2 pounds a week thing.
  7. Thank you everyone for the info, I have an AWESOME update this week!!!! I did my 1st weekly weigh in this morning!! and…. I LOST 5 Pounds!!!!! I have been following what Miss USA does for workouts and diet, and she does a mix of weights and cardio, and has a protein rich diet. I did weights 3 times this week and also did about an hour of cardio each day as well. I already am looking and feeling a lot more toned ( I can see my abs now). I know some people said that it couldn't be done, but I'm having tremendous success just in my first week I have so much more energy!!!! and this is for sure not water weight at all… I lost my water weight before I even starting the challenge. I am following a very healthy diet, lifting weights and doing cardio
  8. Hey thank you! I'm new to the NF community and it's my first challenge Day 5 Battle Log Breakfast: 1 Banana and 1 la croix Lunch/ Dinner: Apple Bee's Cedar Planked Chicken with a side salad and sweet potato fries. Exercise: Tons of walking, Brazilian Butt Lift Tummy tuck and bum bum Day 6 (today, sunday) I LOST 5 POUNDS!!!! I weighed myself this morning and I lost 5 pounds!!! and it is not water weight at all! (I had tried water pills for something else, and trust me, this is not water weight!) Super happy!! Also, I am gaining more muscle tone, especially around my abs and legs. Yay weights and cardio! and yay healthy diet!
  9. Went shopping today for some new work clothes, and I am already seeing results! Diet: breakfast 1/2 gluten free KIND granola with lactose free milk. Dinner: 1 whitefish fillet with sweet potato fries. 1 cup of coffee with creamer. Snack: 1 Luna bar. Breakfast was a bit later today, so it kind of counted as lunch as well. Also, had a la croix and a Fiji 1 liter of water. Had more water as well. Exercise: Did a ton of walking today. Overall, I am starting to feel more fit and toned. I even turned down getting an awesome brownie ice cream dessert at dinner, so I'm really happy about my stick-to-it-ness today Thank for reading
  10. NoxiousGnome & Raincloak, thanks for the suggestions, but I'm still sticking with my goal. Also, it's insulting to call pageant girls "unhealthy". And how do you know that I'm not lifting weights and doing body weight exercises? If losing 13lbs in 6 weeks is unhealthy, then why did steve write about it in the 6 week challenge ? If you don't have anything nice to say, please don't comment on my post at all.
  11. Hi Raincloak, I plan to use the goal weight as a jumping point for being more physically active. What I mean is, pursuing things like running 5k's, Zombie Runs, tennis, etc, That's how I plan to maintain my goal weight. I love mixing up my fitness routines and trying to new things, and the great thing about fitness is there are so many new workouts out there. Actually, during Miss USA's year she does look like "that" all the time, and even after her year. Yes, some former Miss USA's let themselves go, but the majority keep themselves in top shape. Yes, it can be hard to find success stories to connect with. But I guess we are going to have to make our own, "normal size" success stories. Also, I don't like "skinny shaming" at all. I feel like some of the other posters were getting really negative and doing skinny shaming. I came on here to have fun, find some cool supportive people, and keep track of my workouts/diets.
  12. Thank you Devlin! Myfitnesspal is a great idea..gonna check it out this evening. I've been using the Daily Battle Log forum and also tracking info in my notebook as well.
  13. Hi Guys, I appreciate the comments and concern. However, I know my body and the healthy weight. I used to weigh a healthy and toned 110. However, I became very sick a couple of years ago with a serious illness and the weight crept up. The look I am going for is "Miss USA" toned. Lean, and toned. Not crazy muscle or anything of the sort. Yes, I have read Staci's story, and it is inspirational. But I am looking to go in a different direction and don't want to get into intense weight lifting like she does. 13lbs in 6 weeks is a good epic goal. And is it appropriate for the challenge. In the main article Steve mentioned how someone else lost 13lbs in 6 weeks. Basically that's about 2 to 2 1/2 pounds a week. Also, BMI can be a bit inaccurate. So, thanks for the info, but I'm going forward with my goal. I know I can do it, and I will do it. Remember, the look is "Miss USA" lean and toned. Which is achievable and a great cool. Also, I'm sticking with posting on NF with my daily logs.
  14. Looking for epic calorie burning exercises

    1. Chris2Brooks

      Chris2Brooks

Inetresting one I came across and doing now. Disclaimer it's shit hard!

      2 x exercises:

      Kettlebell Swing

      Burpee

Do 15 Kettlebel swings then 15 Burpess

      14 Kettlebell swings, 14 burpees

      etc...

Count down like that until your at zero. No rest in between.

In the beginning start from 5 and increase the number as it gets easier.

For Advanced: Do a pushup with your burpee
