  1. Fitbit says they count elevation change of 10' to be 1 floor, so assuming 8" per step, that's 15 steps per floor. So I did 330 steps.
  2. Hey! I've been away for some time too. I'm thinking I tried to change too much at once. I get the "zombie" feeling too. Let us know what's been going on!
  3. I'm also catching up on the Mini Challenges. During Week 3 my fitbit says I did 22 flights of stairs. Not sure how many steps that is, but it is definitely more than 100. I work on the 3rd floor at work plus I tend to take the stairs in the parking garage too, so it adds up over time.
  4. Hey! Sorry I've been a Ghost Story recently. I've been going through some Changes and I've felt like a Dead Beat and been pretty down on myself. I've been Proven Guilty of abandoning all my goals and in Grave Peril of just giving up altogether. I've a Small Favor to ask...have any of you gone TurnCoat this late in the game before and been able to come back? Did you create new Side Jobs to complete or re-commit to your original goals? Only 2 weeks of Summer (K)nights left in this challenge before it disappears into the Nevernever.
  5. Thanks Elinox, I'm going to take some time at lunch today to try to catch up with a few folks on the forum and see what I can do to get my head back in the game and accomplish at least one thing in this challenge.
  6. Hey all, just wanted to give an update. I've lost motivation on this set of goals. Perhaps I tried to change too much at once, or something. I'm really struggling with establishing a routine. I'm stuck in my habits and what's worse is my Husband is stuck as well and encourages me to stay there. He has no reason to change. The worst habits are: 1) not getting enough sleep 2) not planning meals ahead of time and 3) watching TV or movies on the nights that we don't have something else going on, so I don't do anything productive and I stay up later than I should. I believe I have some form of depression. I hear that exercise can help alleviate that, but I'm so tired and run down that I am not making it to the gym regularly. I need to make it part of my regular schedule, but I am having trouble doing that. It feels like doing anything but running on automatic is too much for me to handle. For example, I have breakdowns and mental blocks when I try to make a meal plan or a grocery list. I'm not sure what's wrong, but it isn't a matter of a lack of knowledge. I know exactly what I should be doing. I'm just not sure how to make it part of my new automatic so it doesn't feel like such a burden. Sorry for being such a bummer...it's just where I am right now.
  7. Day 10 Super quick. Heading to bed: Food: 8/10 Exercise: none 55 pts Checkin: Yes 10/10 Facebook: 8/8
  8. Day 9 Nutrition: I forgot to tell my husband about no pasta week. So when my husband offers to make frozen lasagna for dinner, I politely declined and said I would cook. I planned to make the spaghetti with zucchini 'noodles' tonight. At first he was confused and frustrated that I didn't want noodles but then he shifted his mood, offered to help do the spiral cutting of the zucchini, and ended up having some himself! Win! Score: 7/9 Exercise: didn't happen today. Decided to get to work early and brought my clothes expecting to go at lunch, but then ended up working through lunch. Score: remains at 55 pts Checking in: 9/9 Facebook: accidentally clicked once but exited before it finished loading. 7/7
  9. There are so many small, local breweries now which makes it so much easier to find a great variety. We finally have a group of friends that like a variety of beers and none of them have the word 'light' in them. I hear Germany is really strict on the ingredients that can go in beer, so while I'm sure they are really good, the combinations people come up with here is awesome. Also, some of our friends new their own stuff, so we will be learning from them and possibly trying it ourselves. If you ever happen upon Abita Amber, that's my favorite and it is brewed 10 min from where I live.
  10. Day 8 - Week 2 Week 2 off to a pretty good start. Breakfast quesadilla, salad for lunch, and steak, broccoli, and sweet potato for dinner (ate at Outback and didn't have any of the bread they bring you - win!). Now, if I could just lay off the beer I'd be doing great. But I did plan ahead. This is my no-pasta week, so I had my husband buy zucchini at the store so I could make that into a pasta substitute for spaghetti and meatballs later this week. Score: 6/8 Fitness: Zumba day! Based on my heart rate on my fitbit, I pushed harder than last week! Score: 55pts Checking in: yup! 8/8 Facebook: caught myself once early this morning on Facebook. Immediately turned it off and stayed away all day. Still gonna count it as a win bc I was coming back from the weekend. Score 6/6
  11. 18000 steps in heels and in the heat! You are my hero! You could totally be that chick in Jurassic World that outrank a T-Rex in heels You like good beer too? What kinds? I love Ambers and pilsner and wheat beers. Hope your talk with your boss goes well! I have a performance review with mine later this week.
  12. Quick morning update: this morning I weighed the exact same as last week. So no progress, but that's not surprising given my food choices. To help me remember to make better choices, I'm wearing a top today that is a bit uncomfortable and tight. It doesn't look bad, but it would be much more comfortable in about 10lbs or so. It's only week 2. I can turn this around!
  13. Day 7 Sorry so late, but I had to watch Game of a Thrones. They've done it again. 'nuff said. Otherwise, awesome day today! Food: eh. I'm going to really clean it up next week. Once again within guidelines, but not as good as I need to be. Score: 5/7 Exercise: did a lot of cleaning around the house but no other purposeful exercise, so no added points. Score: 45 Checking in: 7/7
