  6. DAILY PROGRESS JOURNAL 1/26/2016 1. Record the food I eat every day - Recorded food and started the day with cottage cheese, water and coffee. 2. Attend group personal training 2x per week - Yikes! Shark week, this will make getting to the gym harder. 3. Yoga and meditation every day - 4. Reading in bed by 11 - Other interesting updates: - Cleaning - First thing in the morning I picked up clutter, wiped the kitchen counters, took out trash and put away dishes! Yay! - Fitbit - - Arabic - 1/25/2016 1. Record the food I eat every day - done 2. Attend group personal training 2x per week - didn't go today 3. Yoga and meditation every day - Did this first thing in the morning! Yahoo! 4. But I believe it's never too late for redemption! I think I may give myself some bonus points for jumping back into it. Or perhaps I'll make a few options to allow myself to earn bonus points. Record the food I eat every day - 3/3 I tracked accurately and learned how terrible chillis texas cheese fries are. A tiny half order is 1200 calories! YIKES! Not worth it! 2. Other interesting updates: Today was a rough day. I barely moved and wasn't very productive. Didn't even get out of my pajamas until 6pm. I spend way too much time sitting on my butt - I studied arabic yesterday! - Finally brought my car in to the shop (someone hit it while it was parked on the street) and they upgraded me to an SUV which will be a fun change from my Prius
  7. INTRO I'm Sarah, aka twisted octopus. Twisted because I've got a dark sense of humor, octopus because I love the water and it's the animal that a quiz once corresponded with my Meyer's briggs type: INTJ. Apparently a rare personality type, especially for women. Without getting into the details 2015 was rough, really rough and I'm ready to punch it in the face and move on. It certainly wreaked havoc on my mental and physical health. I live in Detroit where a work from home as a software engineer. I am not from Detroit. My tiny 4 pound hamster sized dog and I came here forcibly, trailing my adorable partner who got an OBGYN residency here. Winter is here, which comes with the added challenge of being stuck inside alone more than I am normally. Yay dreary loneliness! Sure I could snuggle up inside and feel sorry for myself - pining for the ability to hibernate through this winter - and ideally this hibernation would last through the remaining 2.5 years of my partner's residency in Michigan. But, I think for the sake of my sanity I'll try something different. This month I'll keep things relatively simple. And if all goes well I'll try to bump things up next month. GOALS 1. Record the food I eat every day - I'll use myfitnesspal to track so feel free to keep me accountable there if you're so inclined. (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/divertida9) 2. Attend group personal training 2x per week 3. Yoga and meditation every day - even if it's just a 5 minute sun salutation followed by 5 min of meditation 4. Reading in bed by 11 - Poor sleep has been a big problem for me. Ideally I'd be in bed by 10 but aiming for 11 would be a huge improvement. Grading I'll give myself 1 point per day for goals 1, 3 and 4. Two points per week for attending group personal training. Total points earned over total possible to get a percentage and a final letter grade. Cheers to a fabulous 2016 and first challenge!

  9. Great to have you both! To become a ranger you just decide to be one! You can go to the ranger board in the challenge and post your goals there. I think you can add the progress bar easily using one of the helper icons above the text box when you make a post. it is to the right of the icon that looks like a chat bubble. I'll try to check in regularly on you both for your progress. Where are you guys from?
