  1. An update: Things are going Ok. Exercise has been my big downfall. I have been on three walks this week, but not the 3 mile stints I said I was going to do and I only did one body weight workout. I need to up my game! I'm pledging to hit my exercise goal 100% this week! Weight loss has been good, I lost 2 lbs this week. I've lost 4.5 lbs total for this challenge and I'm feeling really positive about it. I can really attribute that to not snacking and no fast food. Yesterday was rough though. I have a routine where I take my son to the library and then hit the McDonald's drive thru on the way home (also, I would like to note that my son is 17 months and I would NEVER give him this). It's really disgusting and I do know how gross the food is and yet it tempts me! I was halfway there and then turned around and went home and had a delicious lunch of paleo leftovers. Changing the habit one day at a time. My house is still amazingly clean, but I didn't type up the cleaning schedule yet. I'll get it done this week. I was out of town for the weekend and the entire week just flew by, I don't even know what happened. Here's to keeping things up and moving ahead!
  2. I'm kind of jealous of the hula hooping! That sounds like fun. I might have to keep that in mind for a future challenge. Good Luck on exercise this week. You can do it!
  3. Your goals sound great! I joined the challenge to lose some baby weight (and then some!). Getting back into a routine after having a kiddo is way more challenging that I thought it would be. I often wonder where all my time has gone, but I know it can be done. Best of luck!
  4. An update on my quest to lose weight and feel healthy: Overall things are going well and I'm happy with the progress. I've lost 2.5 lbs this week, which is well on my way to losing 10 lbs overall for this challenge. I started off strong with not snacking, but actually did end up doing it a few times because I was damn hungry. I did have healthy snacks though! I'm committing to drinking more water this week. Not eating fast food has been 100%! Exercise has been mediocre at best. I'm still sick, but actually have started feeling better in the last day. I'm hoping to up my game on this during the next week and report back with better news. I'm participating in a 2 mile walk with my family and some friends on Saturday and I should definitely be feeling better by then. I'm looking forward to it! I'm planning to get back on the wagon tomorrow morning with a body weight workout. My Life Quest for a clean house is going great! It's amazing how much time you have when you don't spend it looking for snacks. My house is so clean right now, let's hope it stays that way. My goal for this week is to type up my cleaning schedule and find a place to hang it, so I can check things off.
  5. Hi Fireclaw! I'm a newbie here too. Love your goals, they sound super reasonable and actually sound like goals I would make! I'm also a fan of the life quest, what a good idea. I always have half finished sewing projects to do, it didn't even cross my mind to add something crafty to my quest. Maybe in the next 6 week challenge. Good Luck!
  6. Things are going OK so far. No snacking has been 100%. I don't know why I didn't write that goal down sooner, putting it in writing has really made me think. I've went to the pantry looking for snacks a few times just out of habit and then turned around and found something else to do. Exercise has not been so great, because I just got a cold and feel terrible. I managed a one mile walk and then couldn't do it anymore because my throat was so sore. So I'm going to nurse my cold (hopefully only a few days) and then get back to the exercise part. I'm planning to weigh in once a week on Wednesday. We'll see how things are paying off next week!
  7. Coworker candy jars are the downfall of all humanity! These sound like great goals. Good luck!
  8. I agree yoga every morning sounds great! Every so often I just roll out of bed in the morning and on to the floor and just start stretching. Makes the entire day start off so much better. Your Ultimate Job Status also sounds idyllic. Good luck!
  9. Hi I’m Punky. I’ve been a NF lurker for quite a while and have finally decided to get serious about my level of health and fitness. I grew up at a healthy weight and maintained it all through college. After college fitness took a backseat, I got married, had a baby and now at 35 years old I find myself 90 pounds heavier! Yeah, you read that right 90 lbs. Main Quest : Lose weight and feel healthy! Overall I would like to lose 90 lbs, but for this 6 week challenge I’m aiming for 10lbs lost. How am I going to do this? 1) No Snacks - I became a stay at home mom in the last year and I’m snacking ALL DAY. I eat mostly paleo, but I’m constantly justifying snacks (which are not paleo or healthy by any stretch of the imagination). So I’m sticking with 3 meals a day and no snacks. If I’m hungry between meals, I’ll drink water. 2) No Fast Food – I eat fast food about once a week, but it’s so not necessary. No more fast food, it’s gross and I feel like a slug after eating it. 3) Exercise – Just flippin’ do it! I will go on a 3 mile walk, three times a week (9 miles total for a week). I will also do a 20 minute body weight circuit 3 times a week. Life Quest: Have a clean house! How? Make a schedule. I have a loose cleaning schedule now, but I need to put it in writing and make sure every room is cleaned/picked up at least once a week. Stats Height: 5’6†Current Weight: 230 lbs Goal Weight for this 6 week challenge: 220 lbs Overall Goal Weight: 140 lbs
