  1. What’s your current routine?
  2. Hey folks! Wanted to re-introduce myself. I posted on NF back in my college years, but it's been about 5 years since I've logged on. I was a mod in the Assassin's guild back in the day, but sadly had to step down because I was having trouble dedicating time to the forum. I've missed NF and want to start participating again, so here's a short about me! Nerd: I'm a lover of all things anime and manga, particularly shonen. I love superheroes, though I don't read as many comics as I did back in the day (I've settled on numbing my mind with Marvel movies instead) Favorite heroes are Spider-Man, Captain America, and Batman. I wouldn't call myself a gamer, but I do love video games. Recently been playing and loving the new God of War. I'm a voracious reader (+1 cliche point), primarily of non-fiction. I also love to write. Fitness: I've done powerlifting, running, and parkour in the past, and I never got particularly good at any of them. I'm currently prioritizing GST via http://www.gymnasticbodies.com for strength and conditioning. I've been practicing jiu jitsu for the past 2.5 years and it's changed my life. I'm a blue belt and I absolutely live for the sport. I'm fairly obsessed with nutrition. I've tried every protocol imaginable over the years and I think I've found a system that works for me. I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things here! EDIT: oh that's funny, looks like I've kept mod status! And my old signature is still there! Funny to see what lingers, it's like nothing has changed.
  3. You guys all did an awesome job this challenge. I'm proud of you.
  4. Lookin' good dude, keep up your hard work.
  5. Who says you can't! We have tons of resources here if you'd really like to learn how. PM me if you're interested.
  6. Nice work guys. Keep on spreadin' that good good knowledge.
  7. Greetings, Assassins. These last few weeks have been filled with mental training, organization, and preparation. You've challenged your minds and learned a ton about yourselves and your surroundings. Now it's time to test your bodies as well. Our enemy this time around is the Knowledge Bishop Confudus. He has been a captive of the rebel army since the seize of the castle, and he's been using his infamous speechcraft to spread misinformation around the community, including some of those among our ranks. The only way we can regain control and restore balance and wisdom is to turn his words right around on him. We've spent the past six weeks learning - now it's time to teach. Your mission is as follows: This week, you must pass on your knowledge, to just one person, in just one way. You can post a FB status regarding what you've learned, you can teach something to your friends or family or co-workers, you can even post something in another guild. And it can be about whatever you practiced the past six weeks - finances, health, fitness, travel, general life-bettering, anything. The idea is simply to start spreading information that you think will help better people's lives, in whatever little way, because at the end of the day, that's what we really want to do. The deadline for this mission is Sunday September 16th. Apologies for the tiny timeframe. Your reward for completing the challenge will be +1 WIS, +1 DEX, and +1 CHA. Good luck, Assassins. Your thoughts are free, let your bodies be the same.
  8. Nice weight loss! Phi is, as always, quick on the draw with one of the most valuable free resources on BW training. It's indispensable. Please read the article he posted.
  9. This. I just do push ups and squats to get warmed up for exercise. If I'm doing heavy lifting then I'll do warm-ups for each lift using lighter weights than my work sets.
  10. Greetings, Assassins. Last week we faced a perilous enemy in Sloth, but we fought hard and emerged from our battle the victor. That being said, this war is far from over. This time, we face a new foe. He's known as General Fogg, an official of the enemy's army, and was largely responsible for some of the victories that the enemy army took in the battle of the siege of the castle. Fogg is an elusive foe, always on the move, but we can defeat him easily if we track him down and come up with a plan of attack. Your challenge is this. This challenge will be focused on organization, planning, and tracking. 1. Find an area of your life where you're unorganized. It can be your personal finances, your workout routine, school, work, or even your actual home. 2. Create a plan of action for getting yourself organized in that area. Maybe you need to start a workout log, or commit yourself to organizing a study schedule. 3. Spend the next week carrying out that action plan! Personally, my organizational weakness is school. I have a lot I need to stay on top of, and I wind up falling behind a little bit. I will spend the next week preparing myself and setting up for an ass-kicking semester. Your reward for completing the challenge will be +1 WIS and +1 CHA. The deadline is Tuesday, September 11th, at 11:59PM. Good luck, Assassins. Your thoughts are free, let your bodies be the same.
  11. You guys all did great! New challenge up in a few minutes!
  12. ZombieFit.com has some pretty neat parkour oriented workouts. A lot of them can be done indoors.
  13. Hey guys! Just a few more hours left in this challenge - how did it go? Is there anything we can do to help in these last few crucial hours?
  14. Greetings, Assassins. You've regrouped and retooled our camp, and we are back to operating at full capacity. It's now time to begin our journey into the portal, and to the real Arcadea. In order to unlock the portal, we must break the spells that protect it. Local intelligence tells us that the first of these spells is being cast by a wizard known colloquially as Sloth, and he's a nasty one. In addition to protecting the portal and keeping us from our common goal, his spells serve to slow us down individually. What he represents can unsuspectingly intoxicate us and tear us apart piece by piece, destroying the very fiber of our beings and what we stand for. That being said, it is possible to overcome him. Your mission is as follows: This is another thinking man's challenge. It's meant to build on the challenge put forth to you last week. Ask yourself a question: what's stopping you from being the best you you can be? Those goals that you considered last week, why haven't you accomplished them yet? Your health goals, your fitness goals, what's holding you back from doing what you want? Are you not getting enough sleep? Are you not prioritizing exercise, or eating right? Are you not studying enough? Are you watching so much Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood that you can barely function in life (can't say I don't know how that one goes)? What's going on in your life that you can change, just for one week, to improve your quality of life? Find that weakness, pinpoint it, and destroy it - just for one week. One week of 8 hour rests, one week of consistent training, one week of financial management. For example, I don't sleep enough, at all. My mission this week is to get 7.5 - 9 hours of sleep every night (that's my sweet spot). Your reward for accomplishing this mission will be +1 WIS and +1 STA. Your deadline is Monday, September 3rd, at 11:59PM. Good luck, Assassins. Your thoughts are free, let your bodies be the same.
  15. You guys are awesome, as always. Stats all around. New challenge up shortly.
  16. Greetings, Assassins. We've relocated our base camp and are ready to begin for the road ahead of us. In order to move ahead, we must consider what we have at present. We must inventory what we have, what we lack, and what we're going to do to prepare ourselves for the challenges that lie before us. Your challenge is as follows: This week, take some time to consider what you want. Really dig deep and evaluate your goals, for your challenge, and for your life in general. What do you really want to do? How is this challenge going so far? Are you going to be able to achieve your challenge goals? Or do they maybe need some additional tweaking? If you feel like your goals for this challenge are too lofty, or not lofty enough, change them! This is a total mental challenge. Think hard about where you are and what you'll be able to do realistically in the next 3 or so weeks, and tweak your goals however you need to. Then, take it a step further. Think about your life beyond the challenge, and come up with three more goals toward which you want to work: a 1 year goal, a 5 year goal, and a 10 year goal. These can be related to anything - health, fitness, work, personal finances, et cetera. Consider what you can do to help yourself, and what you can avoid so you don't hinder yourself. This challenge is meant to help you prioritize and take inventory of things that you want to accomplish, and in doing so, allow you to start making the changes that you need to make to make your dreams become a reality. Your reward for this challenge will be +1 WIS and +1 CHA. Your deadline is Monday, August 27th, at 11:59 PM. Good luck, Assassins. Your thoughts are free, let your bodies be the same. P.S. - so sorry this challenge is a few days late!
  17. You guys are doing awesome - loving the creativity I'm seeing in these challenge threads. Nice job, Assassins. A new challenge will be up tomorrow
  18. I could watch calisthenics/bar videos all day.
  19. For the purpose of the challenge, it must be all at once. You don't have to do 30 minutes though, 15 is the minimum!
  20. Greetings Assassins, You all did an excellent job gathering intel in the past week. We're almost ready to make our next move, but we need to begin by relocating provisions to our current location. The guild leaders have decided it would make the most sense to set up a base of operations within the ruins of the castle. Your challenge is this: In order to relocate our old base to the fallen castle, you must get supplies here however necessary. This week, either in replacement of one of your workouts or in addition to one, spend 15-30 minutes moving something heavy for distance. Drag it, push it, pull it, carry it, move it however you can! Make sure your object is reasonably heavy, enough to be challenging, but not so heavy that you're going to injure yourself - as always, be brave, but be safe first and foremost. A few ideas: You can do intervals (periods of work punctuated with periods of rest), or just go for straight up distance - the choice is yours! The deadline for this challenge is Monday, August 20th. Your reward for completing the challenge will be +1 STR and +1 STA Good luck, Assassins. Your thoughts are free, let your bodies be the same. PS - Squads will be up later this week
  21. Wow. This is an interesting thread to read through - you guys did an awesome job. Looks like you might have had some fun, too.
