  2. I amdoing gluten-free! And cut out nightshades, I have a weird feeling my issue is tomatoes/potatoes/sweet peppers. But can't identify which.

    I also did confirm eggs were causing acne last year. So I'll leave those out.

    I plan to have one cheat meal for Thanksgiving. Only having one will be a huge accomplishment, as it's generally a crap-fest the entire weekend! :) But I look forward to my mom's stuffing all year, so I'm going to indulge. I'm considering giving myself one cheat meal (meal, not day) per week. I gave up eating out and alcohol for Lent this year, and having the one cheat meal to look forward to was a life saver.

    Either way, I really want to abstain from eggs and nightshades for the first thirty days then add nightshades back one at a time.

    Sorry so wordy! But that's the plan! We can do wheat-free together!

  3. Struggled again with food last challenge. And closer to the end started having face breakouts again. I thought I'd tied this just to eggs, but it appears there's another food culprit. So next challenge I'm going to try to eliminate some common allergens and get to the bottom of it. It seems like a silly thing to get so upset about but I'm too old for this stuff. :)

    Other than that, things are good.

    Congrats on the baby! You were having a boy, right? Did you ever say a name (or if you don't want to, that's fine, too)? Going back to work is tough. So maybe lifting will help ease the transition? OK, it probably won't, but you're right, it's good timing - kind of like a new start.

  4. YES! I've been waffling on a program, so having someone else doing the same as me would be great! I've never done SL (I've only done Starting Strength and the Rebel Strength programs). But if I remember waht others have told me, that's an app I can download, right?

    Also, how's everything going with you? I was going to message you when I added you as a friend, but it was a crazy day and I totally forgot!

  7. Leaning toward warrior for the challenge. Considering a body fat percentage improvement, assisted pull ups improvement, and lower body. Deadlifts maybe? Right now I'm opposite of you, my deadlifts are lagging behind squats. The best I've done on DL was 5x5 at 120 or 125 - my notes aren't clear. I did a few reps and sets at 130 once, but finished the sets at 120.

    Anyway, what are your suggestions for improvement? Should I set a goal at a 1RM if I workout alone? Stick to 5x5 or is that too much endurance versus strength?

    I'm rambling. You talk for awhile. :) If you have advice, I'm interested to hear it!

  9. I stumbled across your paleo book reivew, and wondered what you ultimately decided to do. I'm leaning toward maybe giving paleo a try for 30 days, but have had similar reservations as you.
