  1. I'm liking the idea of the 5 minute flow. Just gave it a go with the exercises you recommended, along with some other stretches and some light shadow boxing just listening to rain music and it was pretty soothing. Thanks for the suggestions!
  2. I fancy myself pretty handy in the kitchen, I love food but my mum couldn't cook and now I'm at uni so I've been cooking nearly everyday for four years now. I'll definately look into some mobility stuff though.
  3. Better late than never, no use hanging on to the past and all that, good luck with your journey
  4. Exercises like skipping, squats and even prolonged push ups have started giving me headaches. I went to a doctor who reckoned its due to overworked traps from spending too much time at a desk with bad posture (its revision/exam season for me at the moment). I've been told that I've got a few weeks before this will start to pass, so I was wondering what alternatives/variations I can use in a circuit routine to replace these exercises until I'm able to do them again. I don't have a pull up bar and the only equipment I have are some medium weight dumbbells if need be. I mostly exercise as a way to lift my mood and general fitness, but the headaches are really killing this so any help would be appreciated.
  5. That's some great resources, I really like the progression steps there. I will work some of that into my routine, though I don't have access to a pull up bar. Thank you
  6. Hey everyone, looking for some advice on ways to improve what I'm doing with weights. For the next month or two I'm limited to my small bedroom and two dumbbells I've reached max weight on as I'll be moving home soon at which point I'll join a gym to advance further. My main goals are for general full body fitness and with the aim of starting up martial arts again. I'm also walking an average of 2 miles a day. Over the last week I've been doing a session every other day of: Alternating bicep curls 3x10 Tricep Extensions 4x10 Alternating shoulder presses 3x10 Shrugs 3x10 One arm rows 2x10 (Not sure I'm getting the technique quite right) Bench press 3x12 Sit ups with twists 3x10 And I repeat this as a circuit twice. The reason there's no lower body in there was because I recently overworked my legs by rushing into skipping rope too quickly and not giving myself any breaks, however I feel like my legs have recovered enough to start building in some leg routines back in there, but I'm always unsure what exercises are best for them, other than just squats. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
  7. So yeah, decided it was about time I actually participated here. My main goal here is to work on my health - both physical and mental health. The feeling of doing a good workout really helps keeping me going. I find it a great chance to work off frustration and tension, as well as get back in touch with the here and now of the physical sensation of my own body doing work. Oh, and liking what I see in the mirror is always helpful to a happier mood!
