  1. Love this thread! I tried Tom's of Maine, but chucked it after my pits started smelling worse and then even got a minor chemical burn from it (ouch). Tried the Lush powder, but I had issues trying to apply it properly. Currently using 'pit putty' from Bumble and Bee. Some scents work better than others, but it's best so far. Must note though that it works best of freshly shaved pits vs. a day or more of stubble. On a side note, the skin in my pits has lightened a bit since I started using this stuff.
  2. This is an interesting quest for me, as my problem is not parring down my wardrobe to things that fit me (both physically and style wise), but to actually ADD to my wardrobe. I need to take a look and evaluate what I actually need and go buy it
  3. Definitely worth looking at (when you have some time Will start taking pictures soon. Something that I've never really done, because I'm not a fan of where I'm currently at, but it would be a great way to track change.
  4. Sorry to hear about the work situation, just ran into one myself this weekend :/ Just keep looking forward to that blanket
  5. Thanks! Glad to see you too I can definitely get obsessive.... I'm debating only measuring every couple of weeks, haven't quite decided yet... but of course, I should really get around to getting a starting measurement, lol I'm using the Goddess Haven course from Leonie Dawson's Amazing Biz and Life Academy. All about decluttering your space AND making it sacred and inspirational. Maybe those extra steps will keep the space decluttered this time
  6. Glad to see that I'm not the only druid with some strength training in their goals love the bamboo analogy!
  7. Best of luck with everything! Moves are difficult enough to manage on their own, and you'll be traveling as well... but you can do it!

  14. With finals happening towards the end of last challenge, things went downhill for me. I gathered a fair amount of bad habits (what? no, there is definitely not a mountain dew sitting in my fridge...) Now it's time to get things back together while I have a 4 month break from school (transferring to a school with a vastly different schedule). Bring it! Main Quest: Lose the flab! I don't have a scale, so I'll have to use measurements and pictures to keep track of this instead. Initial measurements will be taken soon. Mission 1: 2x weekly strength workouts - Beginner Body Weight Workout. I know this goal is not particularly druid-esque, but with the other goals that I have, it didn't make sense to me to switch to a different group. (+3STR, +2STA) Grading: 12/12 workouts = A, 10/12 = B, etc Mission 2: 2x weekly yoga workouts lasting +15 minutes (+2DEX, +1WIS, +1CHA) Grading: Same as above, 12/12 = A Mission 3: 1 serving of vegetables daily (+1STR, +1STA, +1CON) Grading: 42/42 = A, etc Life Side Quest: Clean the house! This will be partially accomplished by committing at least 10 mins/day to tidying up, following a house decluttering program I found, as well as before/after comparisons on how the house looks (these may or may not be shared...it's a bit of a disaster). (+1STR, +1STA, +1WIS) Grading: Whole house cleaned, approx 6 areas, A+, 5 areas cleaned B, 4 areas cleaned C, etc Motivation: I release habits that no longer serve my highest good. This is written in hot pink pen on an index card that sits right next to my laptop. Tracking: All habits will be tracked (completed/not completed) via an iPhone app called "Way of Life". Exact exercises will be tracked via fitocracy, and measurements will be written down, most likely here. Definitely excited for this challenge! Going to enter slots for the updates right away to make it easier for me to stay on track. Will update these weekly!
  15. Thanks evenewbie! Going to have a 4 month break from school after next week to focus on myself and work. I'm very much looking forward to a bit of a break! 16. Whoops, been forgetting to update >< I've started a new job in this past 2 weeks. It is rather physically demanding, so I am amending my daily HW goal to only non-work days. Week of 19 Aug Tidy House 15 mins - 5/7 C 2 Hours HW - 4/4 A Meditating - 5/7 C Yoga - 4/4 A Week of 26 Aug Tidy House 15 mins - 5/7 C 2 Hours HW - 3/4 B Meditating - 4/7 D Yoga - 2/5 F This new job is entirely too demanding on me, so I'm looking into finding something that would work better for me. With that, and finals happening in the next 2 weeks, I hope I am still able to keep up with these goals (because they had been helping me feel better until they lost priority in my mind).
  17. Yoga - 2/2 sessions done, A Meditating - 7/7 for min 10 mins each, A 2 hours HW/day - 5/7, missed 2 days, C Tidy house - 7/7 A So far, so good! QofC - I either find a video online, or pick a series of poses that will work specific parts of my body that could benefit from a good stretch (couldn't they all, though? )
  18. Looks like things are going well so far, keep it up! I also wonder about the water goal. I notice that I'm lucky if I drink 1 or 2 L bottles of water a day. Maybe a set amount of smaller containers would work better, will have to give that a try some time!
  19. Thanks for all the support so far! It definitely seems a lot more doable so far, even with school (midterms!), work and a family emergency (everything's better now). Evenewbie - I'm lucky if I can get them to hold still long enough to give them their food without it spilling everywhere, lol! I guess they're still too young to cuddle much, but it is cute to watch them sleep or have them start purring while I'm petting them (even if they aren't lying down, or on me). As far as the stress levels go, things don't seem to have changed much. But 1 week is not enough time for these changes to make a real difference, I think. We'll see how I feel after midterms this week... ugh, midterms. Update/Progress Report: Yoga = 0 sessions, F Meditation = A. Missed 1 day, however most days I meditated more than twice the required 5 mins, so I think it evens out. Homework = A, worked 2+ hours daily (some days a LOT more than that) Tidy House = B; missed 1 day, but completed all others.
  20. Main Quest: To feel more balanced and serene in daily life. Motivation: I am sick of feeling stressed & miserable. Being constantly on edge is negatively impacting many facets of my life, including my overall health. I want to feel healthy, balanced, and even serene. Quests to guide me towards my main quest: 1.) Yoga, +1 practice/week When I was actively practicing yoga, I always felt much calmer, stronger and happier (not to mention less tense). I want to get back into this practice to hopefully reap the same benefits as before. STR +2 DEX +2 CHA +1 Grading: A: 100% of sessions completed; C: 50% of sessions completed; F: less than 50% of sessions completed 2.) Meditate daily, +5 mins/2 weeks I think everyone here has read about the benifits of meditation... yet I find it so difficult to dedicate even a few minutes to doing absolutely nothing. I will probably be using guided meditations to begin with, but hopefully I'll be able to progress to purely instrumentals, or even no music. I will be adding 5 mins every 2 weeks. STA +3 WIS +1 CHA +1 Grading: A: full time of meditation completed; C: half of meditation completed; F: less than half or no meditation completed 3.) 2 hours homework/day MINIMUM One of the most stressful parts of my life right now is dealing with school. I have more homework than I have every had in my life, and I feel this huge weight on my shoulders trying to keep up with it. I will dedicate myself to a minimum of 2 hours of homework every day in order to try to keep on top of this pile. WIS +1 CHA +1 Grading: A: 2 or more hours of homework completed; C: 1-2 hours of homework completed; F: less than 1 hours of homework completed Life Quest: 15 mins of tidying/housework daily This is another big source of stress for me in my life. With 2 kittens and a boyfriend to look after (ha ha) the house can get a bit messy, and it really stresses me out after a while (though not enough to do anything unless I'm using it as a way to procrastinate on my homework...) WIS +1 CHA +1 Grading: A: 15 mins completed; C: 10 mins completed; F: less than 10 mins completed I think that about covers everything...right?
  21. While I did not forget about this challenge, neither did I continue to participate in it. I got insanely overrun by projects, moving, life, figuring out that I hate my major, and trying to currently figure out how to transfer to a school that will give me more options.... hopefully everyone else was able to keep up with things a bit better than I was.
  22. And whooo about raising on of my grades as well! That should put me at 3 A's, and 2 B's. Not bad!
  23. Thanks guys, I'll see if I can find something that works for me. As for yoga, not yet... but there was a happy dance of glee upon hearing that I got the apartment I've been hoping for! Squeeeeeeee! ^^
  24. Feeling pretty good about this week. Goal 1: All A's Currently have: A - II B - III Not quite where I want it to be, but still not bad, considering I've been out of school for almost 4 years. 2 of those B's are just on the verge of becoming A's, so we'll see if I can't get that up this week. Also not quite happy with the amount of time I'm spending on homework (not quite enough). I find myself very easily distracted, and sadly, many assignments need to be done on the computer, so I can't just turn it off. Darn the distractions of the internet! Goal 2: Yoga Only did 1 session of yoga last week, so I'll need to sneak some time in this week for an extra one. Planning on Friday's and Monday's from now on though. Anyone have any suggestions for getting less sidetracked and distracted? I guess it's a self discipline thing, but as we all know, will power is a finite resource...
  25. Sounds like you have some great goals! Btw, what kind of writing do you do? Best of luck to you!
