  1. It's water resistant. There are also plenty reports of people forgetting to take it off when showering or swimming with no damage.
  2. Weight on 01.01.2015: 315 Weight on 07.21.2015: 301 One month weigh in 08.21.2015: 290 5 Week Weigh In: 287 -28 lbs in 2015 -14 lbs since 07.21.2015
  3. Thanks! It was a struggle early on when I had to accept my diagnosis, and the idea that it could have been avoided. I'm on an upswing now and looking to rock my labs in November. I love it! A lot of people get hung up on the price, but I was already looking at fitness trackers in the $200+ range. It's given me a lot of value, even outside of fitness. It's also a lot tougher than I had hoped. I bang it around every now and then and it doesn't show.
  4. Time for an update! Main Quest: Develop the healthy habits that will carry me throughout the rest of my life. - Up every morning, even on weekends. - Being super productive in the mornings. Laundry, meal prep, etc. - I love that it leaves more time on the weekends for me, as they are my only days off. Quest One: Earn a Cheat Meal I feel like I earned this after my first 30 days. However I only made it about a quarter way into the play of amazing Jambalaya before I tapped out. Even had a piece or two of garlic bread. I didn't want the temptation, so I sent my leftovers home with my girlfriend for her family to try. (Seriously, who lives in the south and has never had Jambalaya?) Quest Two: Just Do It Working out Monday through Friday. Trying to work it in on the weekends, but I'm usually so busy with other methods of productivity and entertainment. Quest Three: Personal Development Diabetes education has been really enlightening for me. I'm excited about my next round of labs. I want to defeat this disease. I'm also looking at lowering my carb intake, and doing some research on that.
  5. Weight on 01.01.2015: 315 Weight on 07.21.2015: 301 One month weigh in 08.21.2015: 290 -11 pounds. Woot.
  6. Update: Weighed in at 291 this morning! Ten pounds lost! We're going to be switching up some goals. Main Quest: Develop the healthy habits that will carry me throughout the rest of my life. Clean eating is on point. I can now go to restaurants that I love and order something clean. It was a bit depressing at first, but my goals are more important. I'm also learning to expand into other foods as time goes on. I've also gone to bed right at 10pm every night before I have to go to work. Slowly I'm sleeping throughout the entire night. Water drinking is in overdrive. Daily vitamins as well. Here's a short list of good habits I've developed. Daily Multivitamin Daily Vitamin D Daily Fiber capsules Daily medicines In bed and attempting sleep at 10pm every night before work Water over 9000 Quest One: Earn a Cheat Meal Clean eating is so on point that I had to buy a food scale. I found something out about my meals: They were too few. I was doing three meals, with snack in between. My weight loss plateaued for a while. Then I added a second small lunch and started losing again. My metabolism is working so well right now that about an hour after my meals I feel hungry. It's awesome. I'm using MyFitnessPal and my food scale to really take control of my food. I need to stay low in carbs and sugar due to diabetes, and it's really helping. Quest Two: Just Do It (DDP Yoga) Back from injury and loving it. I post plenty of sweaty pics on my Instagram @hiscorehero Quest Three: Personal Development So I'm not really digging the book I was reading, so I'm going to abort the mission. I'm replacing this goal with one centered around Diabetes education, something that has been taking a lot of my time.
  7. I wouldn't say that I feel accomplished as of yet. I didn't take any before pictures, so I don't have anything to go off of. I'm pretty proud that I've managed to eat (mostly) clean during the course of the challenge. I'm not at a point yet where I feel like I have to work out. Years ago it was something that it felt like my body needed. It was almost like I needed to work out to be in the right headspace the rest of the day. That's what I want to get back to. I'm sure that I'm feeling better, but I also feel stagnant.
  8. Really need this today. Not seeing the progress I want.
  9. Quick update over my chef salad lunch at work: Weight on 07.21.2015: 301 Weight on 07.28.2015: 297 Weight on 08.06.2015: 293 I'm like Ant-Man
  10. I always have to modify my lunges. When I was starting I would just go down to a knee and put extra work into those DR Rows and Butterflies. Or you can modify them by standing up and just stepping in. The goal is to have your knee be vertically aligned with your foot.
  11. Energy is good, and as it becomes less challenging you can use it as a warmup. I *love* Stand Up. It has a lot of good stuff for your back. I also suggest that you tack on Red Hot Core to every workout. It's killer. I'll share my idea on progression, but you might want to check out the guide book as well. Basically I do a workout until I wasn't producing good sweat equity anymore. Energy -> Fatburner -> Energy+Fat Burner -> Fat Burner + Red Hot Core And then basically I start moving it around a bit, because by now I'll need some variety. Last night I did just Stand Up. My goal currently is to do Fat Burner + Red Hot Core in the morning, and then Stand Up or Below the Belt in the evening, with an additional Red Hot Core every other evening.. maybe. That's still only about 45 minutes per workout session. Below the Belt is really good, but it's also really hard for me. However it has some really good stretches. After a while you might get to the point where all you do is Diamond Cutter, and then maybe Diamond Cutter + Red Hot Core. This is all theorycraft, and your mileage may vary. I'm just very passionate about the program. Summary: There's a lot in this program to benefit from.
  12. Thanks. This is definitely been the rock bottom moment that I felt I needed. I'm still pushing through, and I can tell the weight is coming off. Last night I slept all the way through the night and woke up with no back pain, so I can tell the yoga is working.
