  1. Congratulations Elastigirl, you rocked Week 1 of Swinging Through the Holidays!
  2. Thanks I'll have to admit that it does feel pretty badass swinging cannonballs around
  3. For today's Swing Test, I decided to see if I could get my swings done in less than 10 minutes. I was successful 10 x 10 one handed swings with the 24 kg 'bell in 9:25. One of my major goals for this next challenge will be 10 x 10 24 kg in < 5 min's. I've got a ways to go because this kicked my butt
  4. Awesome job on your respawn, and especially on your new PR The entire challenge is for us Assassins. We are split up into two teams and each team is competing against the other. We are doing the skills of the other guilds as part of the challenge. You can contribute to your team in the area where you are strongest, or work on areas that need help, or both I'm contributing to my team in the Warriors, Rangers and Druids skills. It looks like we need some help with Monks skills so I may do a bit of that also.
  5. Did my first ever wall sit today... Ouch!
  6. Good stretches after you work out, drinking lots of water, and for me, including Turmeric in my daily diet Also, just getting moving when you are sore could help loosen things up a bit.
  7. Here's a quick illustration of how kettlebells can make your fitter. The top chart is my heart rate graph from today's workout. 10 sets of 10 one hand swings with 24 kg. The bottom chart is from October, my first full set of one hand swings. 6 x 10 at 16 kg and 4 x 10 with 20 kg. Heavier weight, nine minutes quicker, lower average and peak heart rates, and I'm not worn out when I finish up now
  8. They are easier now. It's still just one per set, but I can do it with good form and hold my chin in the air over the bar for a few seconds
  9. Rest is good, and this is the perfect time for it Enjoy yourself, you deserve it.
  10. I really needed a laugh right now, and you guys provided
  11. That is awesome! Very nice job on your first challenge.
  12. Awesome job this first challenge Newspire. 9 lbs is a very nice loss over 6 weeks, especially following your previous losses. Your improvement in strength is also pretty nice. The workouts have been worth it I've enjoyed following your progress. Again, nice job!
  13. Awesome job this challenge, and this year You got me to thinking about my own short tenure with NF. This community has been very, very good to me Well done Urgan.
  14. That's the great thing about these team challenges, we can all find a way to contribute
  15. Awesome job conquering Omnidriod and kicking butt in this challenge. I'm sorry to have not posted more, but ambassadoring has kept me busy That is a real bummer about all the food in your freezer. Were you able to save the machine, or did the food go bad enough to ruin it? That just adds insult to injury. Omnidroid is defeated and you are leaner, and stronger, than you were just six short weeks ago. Score one for Elastigirl
  16. You have done a truly awesome job with this challenge. I am proud of you and of what you have accomplished. I do have a quick note about the goblet squat article. The article has excellent ques cues about completing a goblet squat with great form. The regular goblet squat, as outlined in the article, is a strength movement. The prying goblet squat, as described by Pavel as a warm up exercise for S&S, is a mobility and stretching movement. In the goblet squat you maintain tension throughout the movement and you do not drop all the way into the bottom of the squat. In the prying goblet squat you relax into the bottom of the movement and pry open your hips. I do both during my warmups. A set consists of 3 prying and 2 regular goblet squats. Achieving a goblet squat with good form is an important precursor to achieving a good prying GS. That's how I finally resolved my arched back issue. I did do some goblets facing the wall, that was cool
  17. Monday Macros Weight = 155. Weight loss this week = 1 lb. Total weight loss = 96 lbs. Macros for the week = Carb/Fat/Prot - 23/52/25%. Daily avg cals = 2357. Body Fat = 12.2%. I did a bit better with the cals and carbs this week. There is still room for improvement though. I averaged 136 gm/day carbs and would prefer to be closer to 125. I am happy that I'm keeping them under 150 gm/day.
  18. How has your respawn gone? Were you able to finish strong? The Assassins are having a short between challenges challenge that you are more than welcome to participate in. It should be lots of fun, and you'll get to know some of the other Assassins
  19. Now that would be an epic adventure I've been on the other side of the Adriatic Sea from Croatia. The images you posted make me want to visit. The Assassins are having a short in between challenges challenge that you are more than welcome to jump in on if you would like to do something over the holidays
  20. Hi QuietlyAlice, I hope the last few weeks of your challenge have gone well and that you are having a wonderful holiday season.
