  1. I've not been doing an A+ job on my paleo but I have been kicking ass at exercising.
  2. Survived another day, not a whole lot more to add. Changing bad habits is excruciatingly difficult.
  3. Good job at staying on the quest with all the emotional turmoil. But really that's what this is all about. Life is just gonna get hectic, it's all in having some tools to deal with it. I'm a totally emotional eater too. When I have a crap day I don't want to cook, which leads to packaged food like cookies to temp me. And when it's a shit day, I secretly tell myself "I deserve to eat whatever I want." So I need to have food cooked ahead, on hand, and I need to change the dialog in my head. My mantra for a crappy day should be "you deserve to treat your body with respect and eat some nurtitional food". Baby steps
  4. Yay Athena!! You are very motivated and your hunger scale is really assisting you
  5. Today will be a good test for me, I will have a lot of zombies pulling at my attention, trying to distract me into making bad choices. Hectic days, like today will be, is where I need to really just buckle down and remember my plans and why I made it to begin with. I will make good choices today. I'm looking forward to making some paleo tacos tonight. I may actually make it into more of a casserole dish so I have some for extra meals.
  6. I echo what Athena says. The scale is frustrating you, so just forget about that. When it's all said and done, you know the things we are doing are making us heathy, the scale will catch up, when it catches up. Exercising and making better food choices and being mindful of the zombies, we are trudging ahead, surviving and getting stronger. All good stuff!
  7. Yesss, we are glad you made it! welcome
  8. laziness is our arch-enemy, an ongoing battle for sure.
  9. welcome to the challenge, better late than never I say! Do me a favor and perfect a "paleo" macarons for me while you are experimenting
  10. I also have a long term goal of an overall weight loss, as well as some less quantifiable things like more energy and yoga/meditation things. But I'm trying to be very specific with my weight goal and break it up into smaller, more manageable chunks. At this point, putting my big weight goal up feels too overwhelming and distracting at the moment. But for you, it may actually motivate you... so maybe consider having a tracker for it, if it is specific enough. It's kind of a personal choice I would imagine and you would know best how to move forward
  11. Yesterday was a good day and it makes me even more motivated to continue. I had a good paleo eating day and got my cardio in for 40 minutes. I thought I was gonna die at about the 20 minute mark, realizing I was only half-way through...but then just holding on for 5 mins pushed me over the hump and I realized I could complete it, with every minute bringing me closer. For breakfast I had a slice of crustless quiche I made on Sunday, Lunch was a chocolate-peanut butter protein shake made with almond milk and dinner was a filet with some steamed broccoli. I receive the kettlebells I ordered last week and while im itching to use them today, I decided I really need to watch my video on form a couple of times first and practice said form before trying a full routine. So today I will do about 20 mins of cardio and some weight circuit training. That way I have time by Friday to really get to know the kettlebells and then try my first workout
  12. I just sorted it out with the help from another friend, I will send you a message later tonight about it
  13. Yeah, the wedgie thing is real, lol. So since it seems to happen no matter what, I wear these bizarre undergarments from victoria's secret of all places. I bought them on a whim when I was getting my super industrial, two layer sports bra (nothing smexy or "angel-like' about either garment mind you) anyways, I found them in their workout section, very plain and kinda like thongs, but actually more like their "cheeky" underwear, meaning a little more fabric than a thong. Obviously, I'm sure you could find something similar at another store as well, but they are really thin material and dry quickly as well. Good luck in your quest
